The efifciency of extracts from Arbutus unedo L. （AU）, Crataegus monogyna L. （Cm）, Rosa canina L. （RC）, and Rubus ulmifolius Schott. （RU） to inhibit lipid oxidation in raw, cooked and cooked and chilled （2°C/12 d） porcine burger patties, was investigated. The modiifcation of the fatty acid proifle during processing treatments （cooking and chilling）, the quantitative measurements of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances （TBA-RS）, and lipid-derived volatiles, were used as indicators of lipid oxidation. Polyunsaturated fatty acids （PUFA） gradually decreased during cooking and the subsequent storage of cooked burger patties with this decrease being signiifcantly greater （P〈0.05） in control patties than in those with added berry extracts. In accordance, the control patties showed signiifcantly higher TBA-RS numbers and counts of lipid-derived volatiles in all treatments when compared to the berry-added counterparts （P〈0.05）. Results from the present work show, for the ifrst time, that extracts from A. unedo, C. monogyna, R. canina, and R. ulmifolius are promising antioxidants which could enhance the nutritional, safety and sensory properties of porcine burger patties.

The rapid evolution of systemic therapies for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),one of the most common types of liver cancer,has attracted significant attention especially to hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC)as a highly promising treatment *** method,which delivers chemotherapy directly into the liver's arterial supply,is designed to maximize the concentration of anti-cancer drugs at the tumor site while minimizing systemic side *** the potential and the encouraging results observed in various studies,HAIC has not yet achieved widespread acceptance and *** is a widely used systemic therapy that targets multiple pathways involved in tumor growth and angiogenesis,while transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)is a locoregional therapy that combines arterial embolization with *** treatments have been the mainstay of HCC management,yet they have limitations that HAIC may potentially *** article specifically comments on the network meta-analysis that examined the current research status of HAIC,highlighting its effectiveness and safety profile in comparison to established standard treatments such as Sorafenib and *** an extensive review of existing studies,the authors conclude that patients receiving HAIC often experience better survival rates and longer periods without disease progression compared to those receiving Sorafenib or TACE.

Breeding of forage maize should combine improvement achieved for grain with the specific needs of forage hybrids. Production stability is important when maize is used for silage if the planting area is not in the ideal agronomic environment. The objectives of the present research were:(i) to quantify environmental and genetic and their interaction effects on maize silage traits;(ii) to identify possible heterotic groups for forage aptitude and suggest the formation of potential heterotic patterns, and(iii) to identify suitable inbred line combinations for producing hybrids with forage aptitude. Forty-five hybrids derived from diallelic crosses(without reciprocals) among ten inbred lines of maize were evaluated in this study. Combined ANOVA over environments showed differences between genotypes(G), environments(E), and their interactions(GEI). Heritability(H2), and genotypic and phenotypic correlations were estimated to evaluate the variation in and relationships between forage traits. Postdictive and predictive AmmI models were fitted to determine the importance of each source of variation, G, E, and GEI, and to select genotypes simultaneously on yield, quality and stability. A predominance of additive effects was found in the evaluated traits. The heterotic pattern Reid-BSSS × Argentine flint was confirmed for ear yield(EY) and harvest index(HI). High and broad genetic variation was found for stover and whole plant traits. Some inbred lines had genes with differential breeding aptitude for ear and stover. Stover and ear yield should be the main breeding objectives in maize forage breeding.

Background: Video recording of cells offers a straightforward way to gainvaluable information from their response to treatments. An indispensable stepin obtaining such information involves tracking individual cells from therecorded data. A subsequent step is reducing such data to represent essentialbiological information. This can help to compare various single‐cell trackingdata yielding a novel source of information. The vast array of potential datasources highlights the significance of methodologies prioritizing simplicity,robustness, transparency, affordability, sensor independence, and freedomfrom reliance on specific software or online ***: The provided data presents single‐cell tracking of clonal (A549)cells as they grow in two‐dimensional (2D) monolayers over 94 hours,spanning several cell cycles. The cells are exposed to three differentconcentrations of yessotoxin (YTX). The data treatments showcase theparametrization of population growth curves, as well as other statisticaldescriptions. These include the temporal development of cell speed in familytrees with and without cell death, correlations between sister cells, single‐cellaverage displacements, and the study of clustering ***: Various statistics obtained from single‐cell tracking reveal patternssuitable for data compression and parametrization. Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Only 30%-40% of the patients with HCC are eligible for curative treatments, which include surgical resection as the first option, liver transplantation and percutaneous ablation. Unfortunately, there is a high frequency of tumor recurrence after surgical resection and most HCC seem resistant to conventional chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Sorafenib, a multi-tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is the only chemotherapeutic option for patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma. Patients treated with Sorafenib have a significant increase in overall survival of about three months. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop alternative treatments. Due to its role in cell growth and development, the insulin-like growth factor system is commonly deregulated in many cancers. Indeed, the insulin-like growth factor(IGF) axis has recently emerged as a potential target for hepatocellular carcinoma treatment. To this aim, several inhibitors of the pathway have been developed suchas monoclonal antibodies, small molecules, antisense oligonucleotides or small interfering RNAs. However recent studies suggest that, unlike most tumors, HCC development requires increased signaling through insulin growth factor Ⅱ rather than insulin growth factor Ⅰ. This may have great implications in the future treatment of HCC. This review summarizes the role of the IGF axis in liver carcinogenesis and the current status of the strategies designed to target the IGF-Ⅰ signaling pathway for hepatocellular carcinoma treatment.
