BACKGROUnD Fibromyalgia(Fm)and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome(mE/CFS)are devastating metabolic neuroimmune diseases that are difficult to diagnose because of the presence of numerous symptoms and a lack of specific *** patient heterogeneity linked to patient subgroups and variation in disease severity,anomalies are found in the blood and plasma of these patients when compared with healthy control *** seeming specificity of these“plasma factors”,as recently reported by Ron Davis and his group at Stanford University,CA,United States,and observations by our group,have led to the proposal that induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)may be used as metabolic sensors for Fm and mE/CFS,a hypothesis that is the basis for this indepth *** To identify metabolic signatures in Fm and/or mE/CFS supporting the existence of disease-associated plasma factors to be sensed by *** A PRISmA(Preferred Reported Items for Systematic Reviews and meta-analysis)-based systematic review of the literature was used to select original studies evaluating the metabolite profiles of Fm and mE/CFS body *** meSH terms“metabolomic”or“metabolites”in combination with Fm and mE/CFS disease terms were screened against the Pubmed *** original studies applying omics technologies,published in English,were *** data obtained were tabulated according to the disease and type of body fluid *** across studies were searched and P-values reported by the original studies were gathered to document significant differences found in the disease *** Eighteen previous studies show that some metabolites are commonly altered in mE/CFS and Fm body *** vitro cell-based assays have the potential to be developed as screening platforms,providing evidence for the existence of factors in patient body fluids capable of altering morphology,differentiation state and/or growth ***,they can be further develo

Arthropod communities and epiphytic plants associated with tree canopies have been widely studied and have revealed a great diversity of organisms; however,the community hosted by parasitic plants,such as dwarf mistletoes,remains poorly *** the coniferous forests of north America,dwarf mistletoe infection（Arceuthobium spp.） significantly damages the health of the forest,causing large financial losses for the forest industry,but it also positively affects diversity,especially of mammals and *** study examined the attributes of the arthropod communities associated with two species of dwarf mistletoe [Arceuthobium globosum Hawksw.＆ Wiens and ***（Humb.＆ *** Willd.） ***] and their host Pinus hartwegii *** 2010,in five sites located in Zoquiapan（Central mexico）,we collected plant tissue from the three species *** were separated from the plant tissue and identified to the finest level *** collected 32,059 individuals,for which51 morphospecies were identified,belonging to 15 taxonomic orders; the most abundant orders for the three plants were Prostigmata,Thysanoptera and *** community associated with *** had the highest value of diversity（H＇= 1.47; ***,H＇= 0.64; ***,H＇= 0.68） and species richness（S = 40; ***,S = 30; ***,S = 35）; while abundance was significantly higher for the mistletoes（***,n = 407 individuals/sample; ***,n = 536 individuals/sample; ***,n = 134 individuals/sample）.Species richness,abundance and diversity were significantly different for the three studied plants,as well for sampling month and the interaction of these two factors（except for diversity）.The results suggest that the canopy of *** is an important element in the ecosystem,providing a mosaic of resources and conditions to the associated *** also propose that mistletoes are key species within the forest canopy,as they greatly influence the establishment of d

Adenosine 5'triphosphate transport and accumulation during the cold preservation of rat hepatocytes in University of Wisconsin solution

AIm: We used isolated hepatocytes to investigate how different concentrations of ATP in the University of Wisconsin (UW) solution affected both cellular ATP content and cell viability during the cold storage and the rewarming step. The mechanism involved in ATP transport and accumulation in hypothermia was also determined. mETHODS: The cells were preserved up to 72 h in different conditions: UW solution without ATP (a-group), UW+5 mmol/L ATP (b-group), and UW+10 mmol/L ATP (c-group). The ATP content and the cell viability (LDH release) were determined during the cold storage and the rewarming step. In the groups a and c, the respiratory function of the cells at rewarming was studied. In addition, the cell volume of hepatocytes and the mechanism involved in ATP transport and accumulation were assessed. The extracellular degradation of exogenous nucleotides during transport experiments was investigated by a HPLC technique. RESULTS: After three days of cold storage a loss of cellular ATP content was observed in hepatocytes preserved either without nucleotides (a-group) or with 5 mmol/L ATP (b-group). In contrast, 10 mmol/L ATP (c-group) was able to maintain a normal ATP cellular content, with only a 6% diminution after 72 h of cold storage. The respiratory function was significantly different in hepatocytes preserved with 10 mmol/L ATP than without ATP. no significant change was detected For the three groups in cellular volume during the cold storage. We also report that the time course accumulation of [3H]-ATP by cold stored hepatocytes is a rapid process that is completed after 180 s with linear dependence on the extracellular ATP concentration (linear fitting results in a slope of 0.5624±0.1179 mmol/L ATP intracell/mmcl/L ATP extracell). COnCLUSIOn: Our results show that, during hypothermic storage in UW solution, hepatocytes are permeable to ATP by a diffusive mechanism. Background Tree regeneration is a key component of resilience because it promotes post-disturbance recovery of forests. northwestern Patagonia from Argentina is occupied by nothofagus alpina（na）, n. obliqua（no）, and n. dombeyi（nd） forests that grow along an intense precipitation gradient, managed throughout shelterwood silvicultural system by technicians of the Lanin natural Reserve. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of seeding cuttings over the dynamics of nothofagus mixed forests across landscape（precipitation gradient） based mainly on the composition and abundance of tree regeneration, permanent sampling plots and generalized linear mixed models. In particular, we analysed:（i） the structure of sexual and asexual regeneration during nd > 20 years after harvest（the dynamics of managed forests）, and（ii） the structure of sexual regeneration in primary and managed forests after > 20 years of harvest（the effect of silviculture）.Results nd was the most abundant species in the regeneration of managed forests during all periods in both sites despite its lower contribution to the adult cohort. During the 10–20 years period after harvest, the humid site exhibited higher regeneration density than the mesic site(120,000 and 6000 ind ha-1, respectively), and it decreased afterwards. The number of established regeneration（> 2 m height） was lower for na in the mesic site and for no in the humid site(0 and 57 ind ha-1, respectively). However, in comparison to no, na showed a higher number of sprouted stumps and sprouts per stump, and a higher sprout height in the mesic site. no exhibited higher sprout mortality in the humid site. The most important risk factor for stroke and neurodegeneration is aging. In fact, survival after stroke diminishes largely with aging. In fact, recovery after brain artery occlusion is dramatically worsened by aging, even normal aging is associated with neuron damage and cognitive decline. mechanisms involved in aging-related, cognitive decline and susceptibility to neuron damage in stroke and neurode- generation are largely unknown. One of the most important mech- anisms contributing to neural dysfunction and death is excitotox- icity. This process is based on the fact that the excessive glutamate receptor stimulation may lead to neuronal damage. This overstim- ulation may be due to increased concentration of glutamate, or the prolonged activation of receptors.

The current study relates to designing a swarming computational paradigm to solve the influenza disease system(IDS).The nonlinear system’s mathematical form depends upon four classes:susceptible individuals,infected people,recovered individuals and cross-immune *** solutions of the IDS are provided by using the artificial neural networks(Anns)together with the swarming computational paradigm-based particle swarmoptimization(PSO)and interior-point scheme(IPA)that are the global and local search *** Anns-PSO-IPA has never been applied to solve the *** a merit function in the sense of mean square error is constructed using the differential form of each class of the IDS and then optimized by the *** correctness and accuracy of the scheme are observed to perform the comparative analysis of the obtained IDS results with the Adams solutions(reference solutions).An absolute error in suitable measures shows the precision of the proposed Anns procedures and the optimization efficiency of the ***,the reliability and competence of the proposed computing method are enhanced through the statistical performances.
