Fire resistance evaluation through synthetic fire tests and generative adversarial networks

this paper introduces a machine learning approach to address the challenge of limited data resulting from costly and time-consuming fire experiments by enlarging small fire test data sets and predicting the fire resistance of reinforced concrete *** approach begins by creating deep learning models,namely generative adversarial networks and variational autoencoders,to learn the spatial distribution of real fire *** then use these models to generate synthetic tabular samples that closely resemble realistic fire resistance values for reinforced concrete *** generated data are employed to train state-of-the-art machine learning techniques,including Extreme Gradient Boost,Light Gradient Boosting machine,Categorical Boosting Algorithm,Support Vector Regression,Random Forest,Decision tree,multiple Linear Regression,Polynomial Regression,Support Vector machine,Kernel Support Vector machine,Naive Bayes,and K-Nearest Neighbors,which can predict the fire resistance of the columns through regression and *** learning analyses achieved highly accurate predictions of fire resistance values,outperforming traditional models that relied solely on limited experimental *** study highlights the potential for using machine learning and deep learning analyses to revolutionize the field of structural engineering by improving the accuracy and efficiency of fire resistance evaluations while reducing the reliance on costly and time-consuming experiments.

We investigate the impact of Ni insertion on the structural,optical,and magnetic properties of Ba_(0.8)La_(0.2)Fe_(12-x)Ni_(x)O_(19)hexaferrites(Ni substituted La-Bam hexaferrites).Samples were prepared using the conventional co-precipitation method and sintered at 1000℃for 4 hours to assist the crystallization *** analysis of the structure of the samples was carried out using an x-ray diffraction(XRD)*** m-type hexagonal structure of all the samples was confirmed using XRD *** lattice parameters a and c were found to be in the ranges of 5.8925±0.001 nm–5.8952±0.001 nm and 23.2123±0.001 nm–23.2219±0.001 nm,*** m-type hexagonal nature of the prepared samples was also indicated by the presence of corresponding Ft-IR bands and Raman modes in the Ft-IR and Raman spectra,*** results confirmed the successful synthesis of the samples according to the required stoichiometric ratio.A UV-vis spectrometer was used to record the absorption spectra of the prepared samples in the wavelength range of 200 nm–1100 *** optical energy bandgap of the samples was found to be in the range of 1.21 eV–3.39 *** m–H loops of the samples were measured at room temperature at an applied magnetic field range of 0 kOe–60 kOe.A high saturation magnetization of 99.92 emu/g was recorded in the sample with x=0 at a microwave operating frequency of 22.2 *** high value of saturation magnetization is due to the substitution of La3+ions at the spin-up(12k,2a,and 2b)*** Ni substitution is proven to be a potential candidate for the tuning of the optical and magnetic parameters of m-type ***,we suggest that the prepared samples are suitable for use in magneto-optic applications.

BACKGROUND Nutrition recommendations in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(t2Dm)are to consume rye or integral bread instead of white bread.A positive effect on glucoregulation has been achieved by enriching food with various biologically active substances of herbal origin,so we formulated an herbal mixture that can be used as a supplement for a special type of bread(StB)to achieve better effects on postprandial glucose and insulin levels in patients with *** to compare organoleptic characteristics and effects of two types of bread on postprandial glucose and insulin levels in t2Dm *** this trial included 97 patients with t2Dm.A parallel group of 16 healthy subjects was also *** participants were given 50 g of rye bread and the same amount of a StB with an herbal mixture on 2 consecutive *** blood glucose and insulin levels were compared at the 30^(th),60^(th),90^(th) and 120th min.A questionnaire was used for subjective estimation of the organoleptic and satiety features of the two types of *** Compared to patients who consumed rye bread,significantly lower postprandial blood glucose and insulin concentrations were found in t2Dm patients who consumed *** relevant differences were found among the healthy *** estimated organoleptic and satiety characteristics are better for StB than for rye *** StB have better effects than rye bread on postprandial glucoregulation in t2Dm *** estimated organoleptic and satiety characteristics are better for StB than for rye ***,StB can be recommended for nutrition in t2Dm patients.

metabolic syndrome and the urinary microbiome of patients undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy

Objective:to identify possible stone-promoting microbes,we compared the profiles of microbes grown from stones of patients with and without metabolic syndrome(metS).the association between metS and urinary stone disease is well established,but the exact pathophysiologic relationship remains *** evidence suggests urinary tract dysbiosis may lead to increased nephrolithiasis ***:At the time of percutaneous nephrolithotomy,bladder urine and stone fragments were collected from patients with and without *** sample types were subjected to expanded quantitative urine culture(EQUC)and 16 S ribosomal RNA gene ***:Fifty-seven patients included 12 controls(21.1%)and 45 metS patients(78.9%).Both cohorts were similar with respect to demographics and non-metS *** controls had uric acid stone *** EQUC,bacteria were detected more frequently in metS stones(42.2%)compared to controls(8.3%)(p=0.041).Bacteria also were more abundant in stones of metS patients compared to *** validate our EQUC results,we performed 16 S ribosomal RNA gene *** 12/16(75.0%)sequence-positive stones,EQUC reliably isolated at least one species of the sequenced *** were detected in both“infectious”and“non-infectious”stone ***:Bacteria are more common and more abundant in metS stones than control *** findings support a role for bacteria in urinary stone disease for patients with metS regardless of stone composition.

the aim of the present study was to determine the prevalence of bovine cysticercosis in both cattle and buffloas, in Egypt and to assess the cysticidal efficacy of Balanites aegyptiaca fruits (B. aegyptiaca) and moringa oleifera seeds (m. oleifera) extracts in experimentally infected mice. the study detected the level of tumor necrosis factor (tNF-α) to monitor the immune and inflammatory responses of experimentally infected mice. through meat inspection, a total number of 2125 male bovine, 2 to 5 years old, (1125 cattle and 1000 buffloes) were examined under the authority of Albsatine and Alwaraq official abattoirs in Cairo Governorate, Egypt covering the period extended from march 2022 to April 2023. the overall prevalence of the disease among bovine was 7.8% (6.31% of cattle and 9.5% of buffloes). Besides, B. aegyptiaca and m. oleifera extracts showed cysticidal activity in experimentally infected mice. A decrease in the numbers of cysticerci was found in all treated mice groups, and up to 88% reduction was achieved in the B. aegyptiaca-treated group;higher than that was recorded in both m. oleifera (72.23%) and albendazole-treated ones (80.56%). Postmortem findings proved that m. oleifera and B. aegyptiaca reduced cysticerci numbers comparable to a commercial anthelmintic. the study showed a significant decrease (P 0.001) in tNF-α levels after treatment with Balanites and moringa extracts, compared with the untreated control and the albendazole-treated groups.

Effectiveness of external prestressing in enhancing the non-ductile hanger failure mechanism in reinforced concrete inverted t-beams

Recently,inverted t-beams have been used in reinforced concrete(RC)bridges to support transverse precast *** t-beams,contrary to practice with conventional beams,are loaded on the flanges upper *** loading configuration causes hanger failure due to the generation of vertical tensile stresses near the bottom of the *** key purpose of this study is to investigate the efficiency of vertical external prestressing stainless-steel bars in mitigating non-ductile hanger failure in reinforced concrete inverted *** experimental study on six inverted-t beams,including two un-strengthened specimens,was carried *** study showed that the value of the prestressing level had a considerable impact on the performance of hanger mechanism in relation to crack pattern,ultimate loads,cracking behavior,load-deflection,strains,and *** experimental results indicated that the suggested method for strengthening inverted t-beams had efficacy in reducing the seriousness of the non-ductile hanger failure and resulted in a strength increase of up to 53% when compared to that of the un-strengthened ***,two analytical models for estimating the hanger capacity and the average crack width of the strengthened RC inverted t-beams were *** models that were proposed exhibited a high degree of agreement with the experimental results.

Rao Algorithms-Based Structure Optimization for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks

the structural optimization of wireless sensor networks is a critical issue because it impacts energy consumption and hence the network’s *** studies have been conducted for homogeneous networks,but few have been performed for heterogeneouswireless sensor *** paper utilizes Rao algorithms to optimize the structure of heterogeneous wireless sensor networks according to node locations and their initial *** proposed algorithms lack algorithm-specific parameters and metaphorical *** proposed algorithms examine the search space based on the relations of the population with the best,worst,and randomly assigned *** proposed algorithms can be evaluated using any routing protocol,however,we have chosen the well-known routing protocols in the literature:Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy(LEACH),Power-Efficient Gathering in Sensor Information Systems(PEAGSIS),Partitioned-based Energy-efficient LEACH(PE-LEACH),and the Power-Efficient Gathering in Sensor Information Systems Neural Network(PEAGSIS-NN)recent routing *** compare our optimized method with the Jaya,the Particle Swarm Optimization-based Energy Efficient Clustering(PSO-EEC)protocol,and the hybrid Harmony Search Algorithm and PSO(HSA-PSO)*** efficiencies of our proposed algorithms are evaluated by conducting experiments in terms of the network lifetime(first dead node,half dead nodes,and last dead node),energy consumption,packets to cluster head,and packets to the base *** experimental results were compared with those obtained using the Jaya optimization *** proposed algorithms exhibited the best *** proposed approach successfully prolongs the network lifetime by 71% for the PEAGSIS protocol,51% for the LEACH protocol,10% for the PE-LEACH protocol,and 73% for the PEGSIS-NN protocol;moreover,it enhances other criteria such as energy conservation,fitness convergence,packets to cluster head,and packets to the base sta
