Predictors of heart rhythm disturbances in hypertensive obese patients with obstructive sleep apnea

Objective To assess the incidence and predictors of heart rhythm and conduction disturbances in hypertensive obese patients with andwithout obstructive sleep apnea （OSA）. Methods This is an open, cohort, prospective study. Out of 493 screened patients, we selected 279hypertensive, obese individuals without severe concomitant diseases： 75 patients without sleep-disordered breathing （non-SDB group）, and204 patients with OSA （OSA group）. At baseline, all patients underwent examination, including ECG, Holter ECG monitoring, and sleepstudy. During follow-up （on 3, 5, 7 and 10th years; phone calls once per 6 months）, information about new events, changes in therapy and lifestyle was collected, diagnostic procedures were performed. As the endpoints, we registered significant heart rhythm and conduction disordersas following： atrial fibrillation （AF）, ventricular tachycardia, atrioventricular block （AV） 2-3 degree, sinoatrial block, significant sinus pauses（〉 2000 ms）, and the required pacemaker implantation. Results The median follow-up was 108 （67.5-120） months. The frequency of heartrhythm disorders was higher in OSA patients （29 cases, X^2= 5.5; P = 0.019） compared to the non-SDB patients （three cases; OR： 3.92, 95%CI： 1.16-13.29）. AF was registered in 15 patients （n = 12 in OSA group; P = 0.77）. Heart conduction disturbance developed in 16 patients,without an association with the rate of coronary artery disease onset. Regression analysis showed that only hypertension duration was anindependent predictor olAF （OR： 1.10, 95% CI： 1.04-1.16; P = 0.001）. In case of heart conduction disturbances, apnea duration was thestrongest predictor （P = 0.002）. Conclusions Hypertensive obese patients with OSA demonstrate 4-fold higher incidence of heart rhythmand conduction disturbances than subjects without SDB. Hypertension duration is an independent predictor for AF development, while sleepapneaJhypopnea duration is the main factor for heart conduction disorders onset in hypertensiv

Development of electric power cooperation in Northeast Asia

The development of interstate electric ties ISETs and grids(ISGs) is a global process; recently, countries of Northeast Asia(NEA) that were previously very poorly connected have started to study the possibility of constructing ISETs and ISGs. This paper describes the current state of the interstate transmissions in the NEA region, considering the prospective projects of ISETs in NEA. The results of the system optimization study on prospective NEA ISGs are provided. The proposals on the development of electric power cooperation in NEA are formulated.

The functional state of local immunity in the female genital tract during the HPV-infection

【Objective】 The study was aimed to assess the state of antigen-presenting cells(APC) and humoral immunity in the female genital tract during the HPV-infection.【Method】 This study was conducted at the sample of 30 females with verified HPV-infection.30 healthy females were examined as a *** functional state of APC was determined immunohystochemically by the frequency of the positive reaction to the major histocompatibility complex(MHC)-CII,CD1a and langerine in the samples of cervical *** following monoclonal antibodies were used: anti-DR(Dako),anti-CD1a(Dako) and anti-Langerine(LIR,Dardilly).The obtained data were analyzed statistically with performing Mann-Whitney test for independent *** data were analyzed using the software Statistica 7.0(StatSoft Inc.,USA) for Windows.【Result】 There was determined that the patients with the genital HPV-infection had the moderate deficiency of sIgA,IgА and IgG whereas IgM activity wasn't *** were also experienced the decrease of CD1a+ cells population as well as NHC-CII and Langerine+ DC in the cervical epithelium.【Conclusion】There is discussed the expedience to include the assessment of the functional state of APC of the patients with the HPV-infection into the national clinical protocols.

Periodic System of Atoms in Biquaternionic Representation

Private monochromatic solutions of the free-field equation of electro-gravimagnetic charges and currents are constructed in the differential algebra of biquaternions, which describe elementary particles as standing electro-gravimagnetic waves. The two classes of solutions of this biquaternionic wave equation have been investigated, generated by scalar potentials (pulsars) and vectorial potentials (spinors). Their asymptotic properties are considered, on the base of which they are classified into heavy (boson) and light (lepton) elementary particles. The biquaternion representation of the hydrogen atom is given. The periodic system of elements is produced, which is built on the principle of the musical structure of a simple gamma.

Participating in speech contests gives language learners a good opportunity to know more about the culture of the target language. Such contests allow students to learn how to write a speech for a particular audience, how to introduce a speaker, how to deliver a speech, and how to say ＂thank you＂ to the speaker. Participation in speech contests can promote insight and understanding through a comparison of American culture and the students＇ native culture. Such comparison is intended to promote better understanding of both cultures.

Relativistic Formulae for the Biquaternionic Model of Electro-Gravimagnetic Charges and Currents

Here the biquaternionic model of electro-gravimagnetic field (EGM-field) has been considered, which describes the change of EGM-fields, charges and currents in their interaction. The invariance of these equations with respect to the group of Poincare-Lorentz transformations has been proved. The relativistic formulae of transformation for density of electric and gravity-magnetic charges and currents, active power and forces have been obtained.
