Gastric cancer(GC)is the result of a multifactorial process whose main components are infection by Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori),bacterial virulence factors,host immune response and environmental factors.The development of the neoplastic microenvironment also depends on genetic and epigenetic changes in oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes,which results in deregulation of cell signaling pathways and apoptosis process.This review summarizes the main aspects of the pathogenesis of GC and the immune response involved in chronic inflammation generated by H.pylori.

Glioblastoma remains as the most common and aggressive malignant brain tumor,standing with a poor prognosis and treatment prospective.Despite the aggressive standard care,such as surgical resection and chemoradiation,median survival rates are low.In this regard,immunotherapeutic strategies aim to become more attractive for glioblastoma,considering its recent advances and approaches.In this review,we provide an overview of the current status and progress in immunotherapy for glioblastoma,going through the fundamental knowledge on immune targeting to promising strategies,such as Chimeric antigen receptor T-Cell therapy,immune checkpoint inhibitors,cytokine-based treatment,oncolytic virus and vaccine-based techniques.At last,it is discussed innovative methods to overcome diverse challenges,and future perspectives in this area.

The adsorption capacities for the removal of hexavalent chromium from aqueous solutions by six carbon nanomaterials have been evaluated. Single-walled and multi-walled carbon nanotubes as received and after oxidation treatment, graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide are the materials with different dimension and functionalization compared in this research. Carbon nanotubes have been modified using hydrogen peroxide as oxidizing agent under microwave radiation. The oxidation treatment on carbon nanotubes has a positive effect increasing the adsorbent–adsorbate interaction. Rate-controlling mechanisms and equilibrium data are analyzed using non-linear models. Non-linear method is proposed as the most suitable method for determining the kinetic and equilibrium parameters. The values of adsorption energy(E) obtained from the Dubinin–Radushkevich isotherm,have been found around 0.371 and 0.870 k J·mol-1, indicating physical adsorption. Therefore, the pseudo-second order model represents better the kinetic experimental data. The results show that the Langmuir isotherm provides a slightly better fit to the experimental data compared with the Freundlich isotherm, indicating homogeneous distribution of active sites on carbon nanomaterials and monolayer adsorption. The separation factors RLare found in the range of 0–1, suggesting that the adsorption process is suitable for all adsorbents. The mechanisms for hexavalent chromium removal have been proposed as electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bonding.

Crohn’s Disease(CD)is an Inflammatory Bowel Disease and is characterized by an immune-mediated nature.Its etiology results from the interaction between genetic,enviromental and microbial factors.Regarding pathophysiology,it involves high levels of interleukin(IL)-12,IL-17,and Th1 profile,along with loss of tolerance mechanisms,an increase in pro-inflammatory interleukins,beyond the possibility to affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract.Its symptoms include abdominal pain,chronic diarrhea,weight loss,anorexia,and fatigue,as well as blood in the stool or rectum.Additionally,conditions comprising musculoskeletal,cutaneous,ocular,hepatic,and hematological alterations may be associated with this scenario and extra-intestinal presentation,such as erythema nodosum,anterior uveitis,osteoporosis,and arthritis can also occur.Today,clinical history,exams as fecal calprotectin,ileocolonocopy,and capsule endoscopy can be performed in the diagnosis investigation,along with treatments to induce and maintain remission.In this sense,anti-inflammatory drugs,such as corticosteroids,immunomodulators,and biological agents,as well as surgery and non-pharmacological interventions plays a role in its therapy.The aim of this review is to bring more current evidence to clinical management of CD,as well as to briefly discuss aspects of its pathophysiology,surveillance,and associated disorders.

确定动物遗骸状况的形成原因是法医学、考古学、古生物学与兽医学的主要研究方向之一.食肉动物因其进食习惯成为对尸体最具破坏力的群体之一.为识别Venta Micena3(奥尔赛,格拉纳达,西班牙)古生物遗址形成与变化过程中起决定作用的已灭绝食肉动物,本研究采用10个已灭绝有蹄类动物长骨骨干上的28处齿痕与483个现存食肉动物齿痕进行了比较.基于3D扫描成像技术,研究团队重建了28处有待识别齿痕,并为每份样本放置25个界标(landmarks),通过广义普氏分析法进行几何形态学分析.在进行多变量分析时,采用了主成分分析法.与此同时,运用机器学习(machine learning)算法对全部参与识别齿痕化石进行了分类预测,平均准确率为94%.研究证实20处齿痕来自鬣狗科动物,6处来自大型猫科动物,1处来自犬属动物,另有1处无法确定来源.本研究提供了由已灭绝食肉动物牙痕构成的研究样例.

Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.) is a staple food produced mainly by small-scale subsistence farmers in Peru’s highland. Dry seeds (cv. Pasankalla) were irradiated with doses of 150 Gy, 250 Gy and 350 Gy. In the M1 generation, the germination process was delayed with increasing radiation dose;seedling height, root length and leaf development were most reduced at 250 Gy and at 350 Gy, no plants survived. In M2, the maximum spectrum of chlorophyll mutations corresponded to 150 Gy and the maximum frequency to 250 Gy. The chlorine mutation was predominant, followed by xantha. Changes were registered for branch number, pedicel length, plant height, life-cycle duration, stem and foliage colour, and leaf morphology at the two doses, with improvements in plant type. More than one mutation per plant was found, especially at 250 Gy. In M3, the same spectrum of mutations was observed, along with a valuable change in grain colour.

Aims Invasive plants modify the structure and functioning of natural en-vironments and threat native plant communities.Invasive species are often favored by human interference such as the creation of arti-ficial forest edges.Field removal experiments may clarify if invasive plants are detrimental to native plant regeneration and how this is related to other local factors.We assessed the joint effect of envir-onment and competition with the invasive Tradescantia zebrina on tree species recruitment in an Atlantic Forest fragment.Methods We carried out the experimental study in the Iguaçu National Park,located in southern Brazil,using 30 plots distributed across five invaded sites during 6 months.We counted T.zebrina leaves and recorded the abundance and height of tree recruits over time under contrasting environmental(forest edge vs.forest interior)and removal(all aboveground biomass,only T.zebrina removal,and control)treatments.We analyzed the effects of environment and re-moval treatment using generalized linear mixed models.Important Findings The invasive species performed better at the forest edge than in the interior.The higher competitive pressure of T.zebrina led to higher mortality and lower height of tree recruits.Invader removal favored tree recruitment,especially in the forest interior.Our study shows that T.zebrina hampers woody species regeneration in tropical Atlantic Forests,especially at the forest edge.

The focus of the study is to measure the level of awareness of Indigenous People on Climate Variation. It inquired into their observations and organizing strategy to cope with the early impacts of climate change on their socio-economic and cultural beliefs. The organization’s adaptation and mitigation practices to protect the environment are also discussed using as basis of analysis the multi-stakeholders framework of forest protection. The study documented and recognized the Indigenous Peoples contributions to the preservation and protection of forest resources in Caraballo mountain and a shift in paradigm to Indigenous People’s centered forest resources management is recommended.
