Food allergy(FA)is one of the global human health problems,affecting about 1 in 12 children and 1 in 10 adults *** have alleviating effects on FA,but the mechanisms have not been fully *** sought to explore the therapeutic potential of probiotics Bifidobacterium longum CECT7894(*** CECT7894)on anaphylaxis in the ovalbumin(OVA)-induced FA model using an integrated multiomics *** results revealed treatment with *** CECT7894 relieved OVA-induced allergic symptoms such as patho-logical changes in small intestine to some ***,probiotics utilization also reduced IgE *** transcriptomic data demonstrated that the expressions of genes associated with sphingolipid metabolism were altered in the group received *** CECT7894 compared to the sensitized group,including Sgpl1,Trpc1 and *** addition,the abundances of Sphingobacterium at the genus level,Sphingobacterium sp.21 and *** at the species level,which might related with sphingolipid metabolism,were significantly altered by *** CECT7894 when compared to the OVA *** the metabolomics analysis,phytosphingosine,C16 sphinganine,sphinganine and sphingosine were identified as significantly changed metabolites and sphingolipid metabolism pathway was significantly enriched by pathway enrichment *** Spearman’s correlation analysis further demonstrated that there were strong correlations between serum biochemical indicators,tran-scripts,gut microbiota and *** on the findings described above,from the perspective of genes,gut flora and metabolites changes,it can be concluded that *** CECT7894 might suppress OVA-induced FA by regulating the sphingolipid metabolism pathway.

Macroscopic Quantum Coherence in Antiferromagnetic Molecular Magnets

The macroscopic quantum coherence in a biaxial antiferromagnetic molecular magnet in the presence of magnetic field acting parallel to its hard anisotropy axis is studied within the two-sublattice model. On the basis of instanton technique in the spin-coherent-state path-integral representation, both the rigorous Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin exponent and pre-exponential factor for the ground-state tunnel splitting are obtained. We find that the quantum fluctuations around the classical paths can not only induce a new quantum phase previously reported by Chiolero and Loss (Phys. Rev. Lett. 80 (1998) 169), but also have great influence on the intensity of the ground-state tunnel splitting. Those features clearly have no analogue in the ferromagnetic molecular magnets. We suggest that they may be the universal behaviors in all antiferromagnetic molecular magnets. The analytical results are complemented by exact diagonalization calculation.

Novel method for accurate determination of the orientational angle of interfacial chemical groups

The common practice for determination of orientational angle of interfacial molecular groups with the interfacial sum frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy (SFG-VS) is to measure the intensity ratio between two SFG intensities at a certain vibrational frequency with different polarization directions. Because sometimes the SFG at one polarization direction is too weak to be measured accurately, this ratio usually has big uncertainty, and consequently it is impossible to obtain accurate orientation parameters. Thus the corresponding orientation angle was not accurately calculated. Through analyzing the basic relationship between the orientation angle and SFG intensity, we found that the null angle method would be suitable for such cases. The null angle measurement is simple, precise and easy to realize, therefore can greatly improve the accuracy of orientation angle. Using this method, we determined the orientation angle of the methyl group of methanol orients about 31.8 2.4 from the surface normal at the air/methanol interface, much more accurate than the previously reported value of <42. The null angle method provides a reliable experimental analytical tool for studying the orientation of the chemical group or chemical bond at interfaces.

High-throughput fat quantifications of hematoxylin-eosin stained liver histopathological images based on pixel-wise clustering

Besides diagnosis of fatty liver disease(FLD) using multiple medical imaging techniques in clinic,accurate fat quantification of liver tissue slice, especially the fat droplets measurement, is still a critical indicator in related pathological researches. Stained by hematoxylin-eosin(HE), different tissue components with different colors need to be identified and measured manually in conventional approaches. Automated liver fat quantification of HE stained images remains challenging because forms and distributions of fat are extremely irregular with no clear boundaries, especially in conducting high-throughput analysis which demands quick processing and higher accuracy for the reference of pathologists. To solve this problem, we propose an automated liver fat quantifications pipeline of HE stained images based on pixel-wise clustering, which firstly extracts high-relevant pixel-level features with color mode transformation, then locates boundaries between nuclei, fat and other components by clustering image pixels in an unsupervised mode, and finally identifies indicative fat droplets based on a set of morphological criteria. The pipeline was verified in analysis of multifold fatty liver treatment assays, with experimental results showing high accuracy and adaptability in fat droplets quantification despite data variance. Quantitative indicators provide a reliable evidence for relevant pathological researches or therapy selection, in which number and average area of indicative fat droplets increased sharply in severe and moderate-grade FLD respectively. Those indicators might be utilized as surrogate biomarkers for further researches.

Investigation on the priming effect of a CVD diamond microdosimeter

CVD diamond microdosimeter is an ideal substitute of common *** detector for extremely strong radiation experimental environment due to its high band gap energy, fast charge collection, low dielectric constant and hardness. In order to improve its character, a CVD diamond microdosimeter was irradiated by a proton dose of 46 Gy, and a lateral micro-ion beam induced charge (IBIC) technique was utilized to characterize it in low beam current (～fA). It was clearly shown that charge collection efficiency and energy resolution were greatly improved after proton irradiation of that dose. Moreover, the homogeneities of both its counting performance and collection efficiency were enhanced. Proton irradiation of 46 Gy has been proved to be an effective way to prime a CVD diamond.

Source apportionment of single aerosol particles in the atmosphere of Shanghai city

A nuclear microprobe with high spatial resolution and high analyti- cal sensitivity was applied to analyze atmospheric aerosol at five monitoring sites in Shanghai city. Meantime, a new pattern recognition technique, which used the micro PIXE spectrum of a single aerosol particle as its fingerprint, was developed to identify the origin of the particle. The results showed that the major contributors to the at- mosphere pollution were soil dust (31.6%), building dust (30.8%), and the next were vehicle exhaust (13.7%), metallurgic industry excrements (5.6%), oil combustion (5%) and coal combustion (2.3%). Besides these, about 10% of the particles could not be identified. Based on the cluster analysis of these particles, they could be divided into eight groups. By inference, they might belong to some sub-pollution sources from soil dust, building dust and metallurgic industry excrements. Moreover, some new pollution sources from tyres and chemical plants were also revealed.

Background At present,the teaching of experiments in primary and secondary schools is affected by cost and security *** research on virtual experiment platforms has alleviated these ***,the lack of real experimental equipment and use of a single channel to understand user intentions weaken these platforms operationally and degrade the naturalness of *** To solve these problems,we propose an intelligent experimental container structure and a situational awareness algorithm,both of which are verified and applied to a chemical experiment involving virtual-real ***,the acquired images are denoised in the visual channel using the maximum diffuse reflection chroma to remove ***,container situational awareness is realized by segmenting the image liquid level and establishing a relation-fitting ***,strategies for constructing complete behaviors and making priority comparisons among behaviors are adopted for information complementarity and independence,respectively.A multichannel intentional understanding model and an inter-active paradigm that integrates vision,hearing,and touch are *** The experimental results show that the accuracy of the intelligent container situation awareness proposed in this paper reaches 99%,and the accuracy of the proposed intention understanding algorithm reaches 94.7%.The test shows that the intelligent experimental system based on the new interaction paradigm also has better performance and a more realistic sense of operation experience in terms of experimental *** The results indicate that the proposed experimental container and algorithm can achieve a natural level of human-computer interaction in a virtual chemical experiment platform,enhance the user′s sense of operation,and achieve high levels of user satisfaction.

UV irradiation induced conductivity improvement in poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) film

We describe a simple method to increase the conductivity of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)film by exposure to ultraviolet(UV)light in *** to four order of conductivity improvement(from 10 3to 50 S/cm)is achieved by irradiating PEDOT:PSS film with 254 nm ultraviolet(UV)*** conductivity in UV treated PEDOT:PSS film is stable under ambient *** mechanism for conductivity improvement is investigated by current-voltage measurement,atomic force microscopy,and absorption ***-cross-linking of PSS chains is determined as the reason for conductivity *** result demonstrates that UV treatment is capable of modifying the conductivity of PEDOT:PSS film independent of the process of film formation.
