Background:Previous research has suggested that pelvic floor muscle training(PFMT)offers a therapeutic benefit in patients with overactive ***:Weconducted a single-blind,randomized trial of pelvic floor muscle training(PFMT)as compared with usual *** intervention group(n=54)received a 6-month a nurse-led long-term pelvic floor muscle training program(three sessions a day,15e20 times per session)and the control group(n?53)received usual *** patients received 3-month solifenacin succinate tablets(5 mg e once daily).The treatment outcomes were measured by the Modified Oxford Scale(MOS),Overactive Bladder SymptomScore(OABSS)and the King's Health Questionnaire(KHQ)at baseline,3 months and 6 months ***:Of the 91 randomly assigned patients,46 patients in the PFMT group and 45 patients in the control group completed the *** trial revealed statistically significant differences between groups in pelvic muscle strength at 3 months following the intervention(p0.05).In regards to quality of life,the experimental group showed significant improvements compared to the control group on 6 of 10 domains(p<0.05).At 6 months,there were significant improvements in OABSS scores and quality of life in the experimental group compared to the control group(p<0.05).No adverse events were ***:A nurse-led long-term(6 months)pelvic floor muscle training program may alleviate OAB symptoms effectively and improve the quality of life more than a short term(3 months)pelvic floor muscle training program combined with solifenacin succinate tablets.

To enhance the catalytic activity by designing metal particles combined with atomically dispersed non-noble metal catalyst is a huge challenge,which yet has not been studied widely in organic ***,we describe a simple and efficient method to synthesize FexC combined with Fe single atoms anchored on the Ndoped porous carbon by regulating pyrolysis ***-corrected high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy(HAADF-STEM)and extended X-ray absorption fine structure(EXAFS)spectroscopy corroborate the existence of atomically dispersed Fe and the coordination number between Fe and N *** Fe-N-C-800 catalyst exhibits the highest catalytic activity giving the 97%yield of quinoline in dehydration of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline(THQ)reaction at a mild condition(60C,O_(2)balloon),and it shows good stability with 80%isolated yield after five consecutive dehydration ***,density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that coexistence of Fe_(x)C and FeN_(x)structure exhibits high activity owing to the lowest adsorption energy of co-adsorbed O_(2)and THQ and the longest N-H bond length of THQ,that is because the existence of FexC induces the charges *** work may open a new route to design metal particles combined with atomically dispersed non-noble metal catalysts with high activity in organic synthesis.

Objective:To investigate whether electroacupuncture(EA)alleviates cognitive impairment by suppressing the toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)/myeloid differentiation factor 88(MyD88)signaling pathway,which triggers immune-inflammatory responses in the hippocampus of rats with vascular dementia(VaD).Methods:The experiments were conducted in 3 parts and in total the Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 8 groups by a random number table,including sham,four-vessel occlusion(4-VO),4-VO+EA,4-VO+non-EA,sham+EA,4-VO+lipopolysaccharide(LPS),4-VO+LPS+EA,and 4-VO+TAK-242 *** VaD model was established by the 4-VO *** days later,rats were treated with EA at 5 acupoints of Baihui(DV 20),Danzhong(RN 17),Geshu(BL 17),Qihai(RN 6)and Sanyinjiao(SP 6),once per day for 3 consecutive *** subsets,lymphocyte transformation rates,and inflammatory cytokines interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α)were measured to assess immune function and inflammation in VaD *** electron microscopy was used to observe the ultrastructure of nerve cells in the *** levels of TLR4,MyD88,IL-6,and TNF-αwere detected after EA ***4/MyD88 signaling and cognitive function were also assessed after intracerebroventricular injection of TLR4 antagonist TAK-242 or TLR4 agonist LPS with or without ***:Compared with the 4-VO group,EA notably improved immune function of rats in the 4-VO+EA group,inhibited the protein and mRNA expressions of TLR4 and MyD88 in the hippocampus of rats,reduced the expressions of serum IL-6 and TNF-α(all P0.05).Conclusions:EA attenuated cognitive impairment associated with immune inflammation by inhibition of the TLR4/MyD88 signaling ***,EA may be a promising alternative therapy for the treatment of VaD.

CT9 is a recently cloned cancer-testis antigen, which is a member of the bromodomain and extraterminal family. Each member of this protein family contains two N-terminal bromodomain motifs. We investigated the distribution of CT9 in different tissues and the possibility for it to be used as a potential therapeutic target in cancer treament. By using the real-time RT-PCR method and 18SrRNA as an internal standard, we analyzed the CT9 expression in several normal human tissues and in the tissues of patients suffering from cancer. The result of this study shows that the highest level of mRNA is only present in testis tissue because the CT9 expression has not been detected in other normal tissues. In 6 of 10 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma, in 3 of 10 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, in 2 of 9 cases of endometrial carcinoma and only in 1 of 12 cases of brain cancer, the low level expression of CT9 was detected. In none of the 12 cases of cervical squamous cell carcinoma, the expression of CT9 was detected. Since the high level expression of CT9 is only found in the normal testis tissue, but the low expression in cancer tissues, for example tissues of cervical squamous cell carcinoma, brain cancer, endometfial adenocarcinoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, we conclude that CT9 cannot be used as a cancer therapeutic target molecule for cervical squamous cell carcinoma, brain cancer, endometrial adenocarcinoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.

Correlation of TI-RADS grading with oncogene and invasion molecule expression in thyroid cancer lesions

Objective: To explore the correlation of TI-RADS grading with oncogene and invasion molecule expression in thyroid cancer lesions. Methods: Patients who were diagnosed with thyroid cancer in this hospital between January 2017 and January 2018 were divided into TI-RADS grade 4 group (n=54) and TI-RADS grade 5 group (n=56) according to TI-RADS grading. 50 patients who underwent surgery and were diagnosed with thyroid adenoma in this hospital during the same period were chosen as benign thyroid group. The differences in the expression of oncogenes and invasion molecules in lesion tissues were compared among the three groups. Results: Proto-oncogenes c-myc, c-erbB-2, RET and TRK mRNA expression in lesions of TI-RADS grade 4 group and TI-RADS grade 5 group were higher than those of benign thyroid group whereas tumor suppressor genes DPC4, p53, PTEN and HBB mRNA expression were lower than those of benign thyroid group;invasion molecules BCORL1, BRD4, STAT3, CD151, SATB1 and CXCR4 mRNA expression were higher than those of benign thyroid group whereas ST7L mRNA expression were lower than that of thyroid benign group. With the increase of TI-RADS grading, the changes in the expression of oncogenes and invasion molecules were aggravated. Conclusion: The changes in oncogene and invasion molecule expression were aggravated with the increase of TI-RADS grading of thyroid cancer, and the specific TI-RADS grading was positively correlated with tumor malignancy.

Ultrathin superconducting Nb films of about 8 nm thick have been deposited on heavily doped Si substrates through DC magnetron sputtering and then the high-quality Nb/Si superconductor–semiconductor heterojunctions have been fabricated by electron beam lithography and reactive ion *** abnormal magnetoresistance effect,which manifests itself as a zero field resistance peak under a magnetic field applied perpendicular to the interface,has been distinctly observed when the Nb film is in the superconductiing *** considering the heterojunction interface being equivalent to the structure of superconductor–barrier layer–superconductor configuration,we could generally understand this unusual effect based on the Andreev reflection *** results can be of help for the future development on compatibility and scalability of the silicon-based nanoscale superconducting devices for integrated circuits and superconducting quantum electronics.

To investigate the role of oxygen defects on the photocatalytic activity of TiO2,the TiO2 nanocrystals with/without oxygen defects are successfully synthesized by the hydrothermal and sol‐gel methods,*** as‐prepared TiO2 nanocrystals with defects are light blue and the absorption edge of light is towards the visible light region(~420 nm).Raman and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)measurements all confirm that the concentration of oxygen vacancies in the TiO2 synthesized by the sol‐gel method is less than that synthesized through the hydrothermal *** introduction of oxygen defects contributes to a new state in the band gap that narrows the band gap,which is the reason for the extension of light absorption into the visible light *** photocurrent results confirm that this band‐gap narrowing enhances the photocurrent response under simulated solar light *** TiO2 with oxygen defects shows a higher photocatalytic activity for decomposition of a methylene blue solution compared with that of the perfect TiO2 *** photocatalytic mechanism is discussed based on the density functional theory calculations and photoluminescence spectroscopy measurements.
