N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A), the most prevalent and conserved RNA modification in eukaryotic cells, profoundly influences virtually all aspects of mRNA metabolism. mRNA plays crucial roles in neural stem cell genesis and neural regeneration, where it is highly concentrated and actively involved in these processes. Changes in m^(6)A modification levels and the expression levels of related enzymatic proteins can lead to neurological dysfunction and contribute to the development of neurological diseases. Furthermore, the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells, as well as nerve regeneration, are intimately linked to memory function and neurodegenerative diseases. This paper presents a comprehensive review of the roles of m^(6)A in neural stem cell proliferation, differentiation, and self-renewal, as well as its implications in memory and neurodegenerative diseases. m^(6)A has demonstrated divergent effects on the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cells. These observed contradictions may arise from the time-specific nature of m^(6)A and its differential impact on neural stem cells across various stages of development. Similarly, the diverse effects of m^(6)A on distinct types of memory could be attributed to the involvement of specific brain regions in memory formation and recall. Inconsistencies in m^(6)A levels across different models of neurodegenerative disease, particularly Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, suggest that these disparities are linked to variations in the affected brain regions. Notably, the opposing changes in m^(6)A levels observed in Parkinson's disease models exposed to manganese compared to normal Parkinson's disease models further underscore the complexity of m^(6)A's role in neurodegenerative processes. The roles of m^(6)A in neural stem cell proliferation, differentiation, and self-renewal, and its implications in memory and neurodegenerative diseases, appear contradictory. The potential distribution of adult Antarctic krill in the Amundsen Sea

Antarctic krill is the key species of ecological system in the Amundsen *** present,the suitable distribution is unobtainable by scientifi c surveys or data from the fi *** this paper,the maximum entropy algorithm(Maxent)was used to obtain the potential distribution of adult Antarctic krill in order to provide useful information and reasonable reference for the policy on protecting potential krill habitats around the Amundsen *** points and 17 environmental variables were used to simulate the *** show that the high and moderate suitable habitats lie between 65°S and 72°S in the Amundsen *** high suitable habitat accounts for 8.1%of the total area of the Amundsen *** sea ice persistence(ICE),total phytoplankton(PHYC),and the minimum value of dissolved iron(Fe_min)are the three dominant contributors to the *** from the response curves show that Antarctic krill preferred habitats with ICE of 0.42-0.93,PHYC of 2.48-2.77 mmol/m^(3) and Fe_min of(7.10×10^(-5))-(9.45×10^(-5))mmol/m *** trends existed in the PHYC of the high and moderate suitable habitat,and a positive trend existed in the Fe_min of moderate suitable ***,the probability of presence of Antarctic krill will decrease if the increase of the PHYC and Fe_min continues.

Comparison of the spatial and temporal variability of macroinvertebrate and periphyton-based metrics in a macrophyte-dominated shallow lake

The influence of spatial differences, which are caused by different anthropogenic disturbances, and temporal changes, which are caused by natural conditions, on macroinvertebrates with periphyton communities in Baiyangdian Lake was compared. Periphyton and macrobenthos assemblage samples were simultaneously col- lected on four occasions during 2009 and 2010. Based on the physical and chemical attributes in the water and sediment, the 8 sampling sites can be divided into 5 habitat types by using cluster analysis. According to coefficients variation analysis （CV）, three primary conclusions can be drawn ：（1） the metrics of Hilsenhoff Biotic Index （HBI）, Percent Tolerant Taxa （PTT）, Percent dominant taxon （PDT）, and community loss index （CLI）, based on macroinvertebrates, and the metrics of algal density （AD）, the proportion of chlorophyta （CHL）, and the proportion of cyanophyta （CYA）, based on periphytons, were mostly constant throughout our study; （2） in terms of spatial variation, the CV values in the macroinvertebratebased metrics were lower than the CV values in the periphyton-based metrics, and these findings may be caused by the effects of changes in environmental factors; whereas, the CV values in the macroinvertebrate-based metrics were higher than those in the periphyton-based metrics, and these results may be linked to the influences of phenology and life history patterns of the macroinvertebrate individuals; and （3） the CV values for the functionalbased metrics were higher than those for the structuralbased metrics. Therefore, spatial and temporal variation for metrics should be considered when assessing applying the biometrics.

Synthesis of TiO_2 visible light catalysts with controllable crystalline phase and morphology from Ti-bearing electric arc furnace molten slag

Influence of pre-tension on ballistic impact performance of multi-layer Kevlar 49 woven fabrics for gas turbine engine containment systems

In this paper, ballistic impact tests on wrapped multi-layer Kevlar 49 woven fabric systems were carried out with a flat blade projectile to investigate the impact response during a fan blade out event. The influences of the number of Kevlar layers and pre-tension were discussed particularly. Test results were used to analyze failure modes and energy absorption characteristics of multi-ply Kevlar fabrics. Results show that there are two kinds of impact damage for fabrics： global deformation mainly involving stretching of yarns in the impact region and fabric wrinkle from both sides to the impact zone, and local damage characterized by yarn fracture, yarn pull-out, and yarn unraveling. The energy absorption capability of Kevlar 49 woven fabrics improves with the number of fabric layers. The energy absorbed by multi-layer fabrics increases slightly at the beginning and then decreases substantially with pre-tension. The work in this paper can provide guidance for designing light-weight multi-layer fabrics containment systems.

Hazards of extreme events in China under different global warming targets

Changes in the frequency and intensity of extreme events affect the risk pattern of risk-bearing bodies and the effectiveness of response *** on future climate scenario data,in this study,we identify global warming periods of 1.5℃ and 2℃ above pre-industrial levels,and the temporal and spatial patterns of temperature and precipitation in China during the same period,propose a methodology for risk assessment and integrated analysis of extreme events,build a database of extreme events and their hazards in China in the context of climate change,and assess the hazards caused by extreme events(i.e.,heatwaves,floods,and droughts)in China under different warming *** the RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios,global temperatures increase by 1.5℃ and 2℃ above preindustrial levels by 2029 and 2026 and by 2050 and 2040,*** warming would be fast in the north and slow in the south,the warming of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau would accelerate,and the precipitation would increase in the north and decrease in the south,but the trend of the precipitation reduction in the south would be more significant under the RCP8.5 *** 2℃ of warming,the hazard index of severe heatwaves in the North China Plain,parts of South China,and the western part of Inner Mongolia would double that of 1.5℃ *** differences in extreme precipitation would increase,especially under the RCP8.5 scenario,the hazard index of severe floods in parts of East China would be about twice that of 1.5℃ *** the joint influence of rising temperature and changing precipitation,the drought situation would be alleviated under the RCP4.5 scenario,but it is intensified under the RCP8.5 *** 2℃ of warming,the hazard index of severe droughts in some areas would reach three times that of 1.5℃ *** the integrated hazard of the three types of extreme events,the areas of high and medium hazards would expand,while the areas of low hazard would *** 2℃ of warming,t

Gully morphology is an important part of loess landform *** with gully development,the variation of its cross section is the most significant,and it can intuitively reflect the characteristics of the lateral widening of the gully ***,in-depth research of the variation of the cross-sectional morphology of the gully is helpful to understanding the development process of the loess *** on the DEMs(Digital Elevation Model)of nine periods of an indoor simulated loess small watershed,this paper studies the evolution model of a complete branch ditch in the watershed using the digital terrain analysis theory and *** show that with the development of the gully,the average gradient of the gully slope continuously decreases,and the slope morphology is mostly a concave slope along the slope *** degree of downward concave first increases and then gradually tends to be *** gully erosion mode is gradually transformed from downward cutting erosion to lateral *** more mature the gully development,the lower the depth of gully bottom cutting is compared with the width of gully ***,the surface cutting depth tends to be stable and the slope is ***,the transformation law of the slope morphology of the gully cross section with the development of the gully is studied,and the prediction model of the transformation of the slope morphology of the gully cross section is established by using the Markov *** Markov model can better reflect the dynamic change of the slope morphology of the gully cross section,which is of great significance to revealing the external performance and internal mechanism of the gully morphology.

Prediction of combined cycle fatigue life of TC11 alloy based on modified nonlinear cumulative damage model

The nonlinear cumulative damage model is modified to have high prediction accuracy when the high-low cycle stress frequency ratio m is large(m500).The low cycle fatigue(LCF)tests,high cycle fatigue(HCF)tests and combined high and low cycle fatigue(CCF)tests of TC11 titanium alloy were carried out,and the influencing factors of CCF life were *** CCF life declines with the decrease of the ratio of high-low cycle stress frequency *** linear and nonlinear cumulative damage models are used to predict the CCF *** CCF life prediction error of the linear cumulative damage model is great and the predictions tend to be overestimated,which is dangerous for engineering *** accuracy is relatively high when the high-low cycle stress frequency ratio m*** accuracy of nonlinear cumulative damage model is higher than that of linear model when the high-low cycle stress frequency ratio m*** on the relationship between high cycle average stress rmajor and material yield limit rp,0.2,a correction term is added to the nonlinear cumulative damage model and verified,which made the modified model more accurate when m500.

Pressure-Driven Ne-Bearing Polynitrides with Ultrahigh Energy Density

Neon(Ne)can reveal the evolution of planets,and nitrogen(N)is the most abundant element in the Earth’s *** the inertness of neon,whether nitrogen and neon can react has aroused great interest in condensed matter physics and space ***,we identify three new Ne–N compounds(i.e.,NeN_(6),NeN_(10),and NeN_(22))under pressure by frst-principles *** fnd that inserting Ne into N_(2) substantially decreases the polymeric pressure of the nitrogen and promotes the formation of abundant polynitrogen ***,NeN_(22)acquires a duplex host-guest structure,in which guest atoms(Ne and N_(2)dimers)are trapped inside the crystalline host N_(20)***,both NeN_(10)and NeN_(22)not only are dynamically and mechanically stable but also have a high thermal stability up to 500K under ambient ***,ultra-high energy densities are obtained in NeN_(10)(11.1 kJ/g),NeN_(22)(11.5 kJ/g),tetragonal t-N_(22)(11.6 kJ/g),and t-N_(20)(12.0 kJ/g)produced from NeN_(22),which are more than twice the value of trinitrotoluene(TNT).Meanwhile,their explosive performance is superior to that of ***,NeN_(10),NeN_(22),t-N_(22),and t-N_(20)are promising green high-energy-density *** work promotes the study of neon-nitrogen compounds with superior properties and potential applications.

Accelerating H^(*)desorption of hollow Mo_(2)C nanoreactor via in-situ grown carbon dots for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Molybdenum carbide(Mo_(2)C)is a promising non-noble metal electrocatalyst with electronic structures similar to Pt for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).However,strong H^(*)adsorption at the Mo sites hinders the improvement of HER ***,we synthesized monodisperse hollow Mo_(2)C nanoreactors,in which the carbon dots(CD)were in situ formed onto the surface of Mo_(2)C through carburization *** to finite element simulation and analysis,the CD@Mo_(2)C possesses better mesoscale diffusion properties than Mo_(2)C *** optimized CD@Mo_(2)C nanoreactor demonstrates superior HER performance in alkaline electrolyte with a low overpotential of 57 mV at 10 mA cm^(−2),which is better than most Mo_(2)C-based ***,CD@Mo_(2)C exhibits excellent electrochemical stability during 240 h,confirmed by operando Raman and X-ray diffraction(XRD).Density functional theory(DFT)calculations show that carbon dots cause the d-band center of CD@Mo_(2)C to shift away from Fermi level,promoting water dissociation and the desorption of H^(*).This study provides a reasonable strategy towards high-activity Mo-based HER eletrocatalysts by modulating the strength of Mo–H bonds.
