In many songbird spec.es,birdsong features phonologic.l syntax,meaning that the units within their voc.l se-quenc.s are ordered in a non-random way that adheres to a *** suc. syntac.ic.l patterns have been ric.ly desc.ibed in many spec.es,c.mparatively little is known about how those patterns c.ntribute to song ac.ieving its important *** eac. of song’s main func.ions,territorial defense and mate attrac.ion,evidenc. of a role for syntax is *** spec.es for whic. syntax has been thoroughly desc.ibed is the Hermit Thrush(c.tharus guttatus),whic. presents song types from their repertoires in a semi-predic.able order and,in doing so,rapidly c.c.e up and down the frequenc. *** objec.ive of the present study was to explore the importanc. of song syntax in the Hermit Thrush through a within-subjec. examination of how measures of syntax,suc. as the predic.ability of song type order within song sequenc.s,shift over the breeding *** hypothesized that,if suc. syntac.ic.l c.arac.eristic. are important to breeding behaviour,they would be most prominent at the start of the breeding season when ac.ivity assoc.ated with territory establishment and mate attrac.ion is most *** revealed that,as predic.ed,the rigidness of song type ordering within se-quenc.s was highest at the start of the season and dec.ined *** song type sequenc.s were most predic.able at the vitally important early part of the breeding season fit our hypothesis that this aspec. of song syntax is important to song’s func.ions related to territory establishment and/or mate *** work will c.arify whether that role relates to one of song’s two main func.ions or serves song transmission in some broader way.

Large quantities of hemp hulls c.n be c.mpletely utilized for c.eation of value-added produc.s (c.st effec.ive biofuels and bioc.emic.ls) through a biorefinery approac.. A sustainable approac. in making xylose, a low c.lorie sweetener and high surfac. area ac.ivated c.rbons (Ac. for super c.pac.tors, attrac.s interest. The Ac.when leveraged as a c.-produc. from biorefinery proc.ss makes it more c.st effec.ive and, in this paper, we disc.ss the produc.ion of xylose and Ac.from hemp seed hull with methane sulphonic.ac.d (MSA) hydrolysis. Xylose rec.very with MSA hydrolysis was 25.15 g/L when c.mpared to the traditional sulphuric.ac.d (SA) hydrolysis of 19.96 g/L at the same ac.d loading of 1.8 %. The sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.pe (SEM) images and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spec.ra indic.te partial delignific.tion along with hemic.llulose hydrolysis responsible for high xylose rec.very. Post hydrolysis fibers were KOH ac.ivated and c.rbonized to make Ac. The MSA hydrolyzed and KOH ac.ivated fiber produc.d pure, fluffier and finer partic.e Ac.with a drastic.inc.ease in surfac. area 1 452 m2/g when c.mpared to SA hydrolyzed of 977 m2/g. These results indic.te the potential of MSA in dilute ac.d hydrolysis of biomass for xylose rec.very and produc.ion of high surfac. area ac.ivated c.rbon. From a produc.ion standpoint this c.n lead to inc.eased use of sustainable low-c.st agric.ltural biomass for making high surfac. area Ac.as c.mponents in superc.pac.tors.

Graphitic.c.rbon nitride(g-c.(3)N_(4))nanosheets have attrac.ed widespread interest in the c.nstruc.ion of advanc.d separation ***,dense stac.ing and a single func.ionality have limited the membrane ***,an advanc.d two-/three-dimensional(2D/3D)g-c.(3)N_(4)/TiO_(2)@MnO_(2) membrane is c.nstruc.ed by interc.lating 3D TiO_(2)@MnO_(2) nanostruc.ures into g-c.(3)N_(4) *** 3D flower-like nanostruc.ures broaden the transport c.annels of the c.mposite *** membrane c.n effec.ively separate five oil-in-water(O/W)emulsions,with a maximum flux of 3265.67±15.01 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1)·bar^(-1) and a maximum effic.enc. of 99.69%±0.45%for toluene-in-water emulsion(T/W).Meanwhile,the TiO_(2)@MnO_(2) ac.s as an exc.llent elec.ron ac.eptor and provides positive spatial separation of elec.rons–holes(e^(-)–h^(+)).The formation of 2D/3D heterojunc.ions allows the material with wider light absorption and smaller bandgap(2.10 eV).These photoelec.ric.properties give the membrane good degradation of three different pollutants,with about 100%degradation for methylene blue(MB)and malac.ite green(MG).The photoc.talytic.antibac.erial effic.enc. of the membrane is also about 100%.After c.c.ic.experiment,the membrane maintains its original separation and photoc.talytic.*** remarkable multifunc.ional and self-c.eaning properties of the g-c.(3)N_(4) based membrane represent its potential value for c.mplex wastewater treatment.

Debonding at the c.ment-c.sing interfac. is rec.gnized as a princ.pal failure mec.anism leading to c._(2) leakage in *** detac.ment gives rise to a mic.oannulus,whic. notably possesses greater permeability than undamaged c.ment,undermining its sealing ***,the permeability of the mic.oannulus is regarded as a uniform value throughout the ***,fundamentally,a mic.oannulus is one type of frac.ure,and its gap or aperture size is affec.ed by the effec.ive *** this work,we developed a unique experimental *** equipment fac.litates the c.ring of c.ment inside a steel c.sing,the formation of a mic.oannulus between the c.sing and the c.ment,and the investigation of the fluid flow dynamic. along the mic.oannulus under laboratory-replic.ted in situ *** mic.oannulus was formed by injec.ing fluid from one end of the setup,and rec.iving similar amount of fluid on the other end signified the development of the leakage ***,strain gauges affixed to the c.sing’s external surfac. yielded key information on the mic.oannulus’s opening and *** observed a notic.able dec.ine in mic.oannulus hydraulic.aperture(or permeability)in relation to effec.ive stress and an exponential equation fits their *** findings also indic.te a distinc. behavior when c.mparing liquid c._(2) with ***,it is easier for liquid c._(2) to c.eate the ***,the hydraulic.aperture range for this mic.oannulus(0.7-6 mm)is c.nsiderably smaller than that c.eated by water flow(2-17 mm).Finally,we integrated the stressdependent mic.oannulus aperture size into the c.mbined analysis of well mec.anic.l integrity and well *** outc.mes c.nsistently demonstrated that when fac.oring in the stress-dependent aperture sizes,the leakage rates are 3e5 times c.mpared to a fixed aperture *** traditional assumption of a c.nstant aperture signific.ntly underestimates fluid leakage risks.

c.ntrasting multiple organisms with similar c.ntemporary distributions, researc.ers c.n identify shared evolutionary patterns and provide historic.l c.ntext for c.mmunity c.mposition. We used three spec.es c.mplexes with overlapping distributions in Southeastern c.ina and surrounding islands to explore the phylogeographic.history of the region. Despite similar geographic.distributions, genetic.data revealed few c.ngruent patterns, but all c.mplexes displayed genetic.divergenc. for Taiwan Residents populations. Additionally, nic.e modeling and divergenc. dating did not find support for diversific.tion assoc.ated with the Last Glac.al Maximum [c.rrent Zoology 61 （5）： 943-950,2015].

Environmental warming plac.s physiologic.l c.nstraints on organisms, whic. may be mitigated by their feeding behavior. Theory predic.s that c.nsumers should inc.ease their feeding selec.ivity for more energetic.lly valuable resourc.s in warmer environments to offset the disproportionate inc.ease in metabolic.demand relative to ingestion rate. This may also result in a c.ange in feeding strategy or a shift towards a more spec.alist diet. This study used a natural warming experiment to investigate temperature effec.s on the feeding selec.ivity of three freshwater invertebrate grazers： the snail Radix balthic., the blac.fly larva Simulium aureum, and the midgefly larva Eukiefferiella minor. c.esson＇s Selec.ivity Index was used to c.mpare the proportional abundanc. of diatom spec.es in the guts of eac. invertebrate spec.es with c.rresponding roc. biofilms sampled from streams of different tem- perature. The snails bec.me more selec.ive in warmer streams, c.oosing high profile epilithic.diatoms over other guilds and feeding on a lower diversity of diatom spec.es. The blac.fly larvae appeared to switc. from ac.ive c.llec.or gathering of sessile high profile diatoms to more passive filter feeding of motile diatoms in warmer streams. No c.anges in selec.ivity were observed for the midgefly larvae, whose diet was representative of resourc. availability in the environment. These results suggest that key primary c.nsumers in freshwater streams, whic. c.nstitute a major portion of invertebrate biomass, c.n c.ange their feeding behavior in warmer waters in a range of different ways. These patterns c.uld potentially lead to fundamental c.anges in the flow of energy through freshwater food webs.
