Effects of Helicobacterpyloriinfection on gastric emptying rate in patients with non-ulcer dyspepsia

AiM:The pathogenesis of delayed gastric emptying in patients with non-ulcer dyspepsia(NUD)remains unclear. We aimed to examine whether gastric emptying rate in NUD patients was associated with Helicobacter pylori(Hpylori) infection and whether it was affected by eradication of the infection. METHODS:Gastric emptying rate of a mixed solid-liquid meal was assessed by the paracetamol absorption method in NUD patients and asymptomatic controls(n=17).Hpylori status was assessed by serology and biopsy urease test. H pylori-positive NUD patients(n=23)received 10-day triple eradication *** was re-assessed by biopsy urease test four weeks later,and if eradication was confirmed,gastric emptying rate was re-evaluated. RESULTS:Thirty-three NUD patients and 17 controls were *** patients had significantly delayed gastric emptying compared with *** mean maximum plasma paracetamol concentration divided by body mass (cmax/BM)was 0.173 and 0.224 mg/*** respectively (P=0.02),the mean area under plasma paracetamol concentration-time curve divided by body mass(AUc/BM) was 18.42 and 24.39 ***/*** respectively(P=0.01). Gastric emptying rate did not differ significantly between H pylori-positive and H pylori-negative NUD *** mean cmax/BM was 0.172 and 0.177 mg/L·kg respectively (P=0.58),the mean AUc/BM was 18.43 and 18.38 mg·min/ L·kg respectively(P=0.91).Among 14 NUD patients who were initially H pylori-positive,confirmed eradication of the infection did not significantly alter gastric emptying rate. The mean cmax/BM was 0.171 and 0.160 mg/*** before and after Hp eradication,respectively(P=0.64),the mean AUc/BM was 17.41 and 18.02 ***/*** before and after eradication,respectively(P=0.93). cONcLUSiON:Although gastric emptying is delayed in NUD patients compared with controls,gastric emptying rate is not associated with H pylori status nor it is affected by eradication of the infection.

Snap-through of an elastica under bilateral displacement control at a material point

Snap-through phenomenon widely occurs for elastic systems,where the systems lose stability at critical *** snapthrough of an elastica under bilateral displacement control at a material point is studied,by regarding the whole elastica as two components,i.e.,pinned-clamped ***,stiffness-curvature curves of two pinned-clamped elasticas are firstly efficiently located based on the second-order mode,which are used to determine the shapes of two *** transformations are used to assemble two components together to form the whole elastica,which reveals four kinds of *** advantage of this way compared with other methods such as the shooting method is that multiple coexisting solutions can be located accurately.O n the load-deflection curves,four branches correspond to four kinds of shapes and first two branches are symmetrical to the last two branches relative to the original *** the bilateral displacement control,the critical points can only appear at saddle-node bifurcations,which is different to that for the unilateral displacement ***,one critical point is found on the first branch and two critical points are found on the secondary *** addition,the snap-through among different branches can be well explained with these critical points.

We report on an ongoing work aimed to detect the separation speed of the two hot-spots of the compact symmetric object *** images at 8.4 GHz taken in 6 epoches between 1994 and 1997 we obtain an estimate of 0.058±-0.038 mas/year as the relative motions between two components of the radio *** the red-shift of OQ208 i mas correspond to 1pc,thus we obtain a projected jet speed of 0.095±*** an inclination of 45°between the jets and the line of sight,we have an actual jet velocity of 0.134±0.088c and therefore the kinematic age of the source is so young of 320±210 years.

The Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN)is a self-organizing network with random deployment of wireless nodes that connects each other for effective monitoring and data *** clustering technique employed to group the collection of nodes for data transmission and each node is assigned with a cluster *** major concern with the identification of the cluster head is the consideration of energy consumption and hence this paper proposes an hybrid model which forms an energy efficient cluster head in the Wireless Sensor *** proposed model is a hybridization of Glowworm Swarm Optimization(GSO)and Artificial Bee colony(ABc)algorithm for the better identification of cluster *** performance of the proposed model is compared with the existing techniques and an energy analysis is performed and is proved to be more efficient than the existing model with normalized energy of 5.35%better value and reduction of time complexity upto 1.46%.Above all,the proposed model is 16%ahead of alive node count when compared with the existing methodologies.

Minimal observability of Boolean networks

in this study, the minimum observability of Boolean networks(BNs) is investigated by using the semi-tensor product(STP) of matrices. First, a new system based on the considered BN is obtained to analyze states pair dynamic trajectories, from which a necessary and sufficient condition for the observability of BNs is determined. Second, adding a new observer improves the observability without affecting the observable states. Thus, an algorithm is presented to design an observer for an unobservable BN. in addition, a necessary condition is obtained to determine the minimum number of nodes required to be directly measurable. Further,an algorithm to address the minimal observability is presented. Finally, examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

The application of immune checkpoint inhibitors(ici)in advanced cancer has been a major development in the last *** indications for icis are constantly expanding into new territory across different cancers,disease stages and lines of *** this increased use,adverse events including immune checkpoint inhibitor-related hepatotoxicity(icH)have emerged as an important clinical *** along with the introduction of ici as first-and second-line treatments for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma makes icH very relevant to gastroenterologists and *** incidence of icH varies between 1%-20%depending on the number,type and dose of ici *** and management generally involve excluding differential diagnoses and following a stepwise escalation of withholding or ceasing ici,corticosteroid treatment and adding other immunosuppressive agents depending on the severity of *** majority of patients with icH recover and some may even safely recommence ici *** recommendations are largely based on evidence derived from retrospective case series which highlights a priority for future research.

The present study aims to integrate a large set of geological and geophysical data into a comprehensive model describing the depositional features of the Abu Madi/El Qar'a/Khilala gas *** model is based on the sequence stratigraphic framework of the Abu Madi Formation defined using cores,well logs,and time-migrated seismic *** trace attribute sections and relative acoustic impedance sections are also used.A possible depositional pattern for the main Level ill is established,based on the lithological and petrophysical information derived from the seismic data *** Abu Madi For-mation can be regarded as a depositional sequence recording the progressive drowning of the incised *** sequence is bounded at the base by an erosional unconformity,created by a drop in the level of the Late Messinian Sea,and at the top by a drowning unconformity related to the Early Pliocene *** bottom of Level ii divides the Abu Madi sequence into two smaller *** both sequences,gas-bearing traps can be found in the Lowstand Systems Tracts,represented by the fluvial Level ill and fluvial-deltaic Level il,respectively.
