Lyc.pene Supplementation Attenuates Oxidative Stress Parameters in the Plasma of Humans with c.d after Intense Exerc.se

To investig.te the effec.s of moderate and intense exerc.se (ME,IE) and lyc.pene (L) supplementation on oxidative stress biomarkers in patients with c.D. Rehabilitation ***-two male volunteers with c.D (55.65 ? 2.27 years, 77.27 ? 3.95 kg. 171.9 ? 2.80 c.) were divided into four g.oups;ME-Plac.bo (n = 7), ME + L (n = 8), IE-Plac.bo (n = 8) and IE-L (n = 9). Blood samples (12 mL) were c.llec.ed before supplementation (one c.real bars – 15 mg.of syn-thetic.lyc.pene) and exerc.se (45 min plus 15 min of stretc.ing. 3/wk) and after five weeks of supplementation and 72 h after exerc.se. Nitrite/nitrate c.nc.ntrations (NOx), lipoperoxidation (TBARS levels), protein c.rbonylation (Pc. and superoxide dismutase (SOD) and c.talase (c.T) ac.ivity were assessed in plasma. NOx dec.eased sig.ific.ntly in the ME-P, IE-P and ME-L g.oups at 72 h after exerc.se and inc.eased in the IE-L 72 h after the last exerc.se session. The IE-L g.oup demonstrated dec.eased TBARS at 72 h after the last exerc.se session. The level of Pc.inc.eased only in EI-P at 72 h after the last exerc.se session, while only the EI-L g.oup presented a reduc.ion. SOD inc.eased sig.ifi-c.ntly in both plac.bo g.oups 72 h after the last exerc.se session and dec.eased in the ME-L g.oup 72 h after in rela-tion to plac.bo g.oups. c.T inc.eased in ME-P, IE-P and IE-L g.oups only at 72 h after the last exerc.se session. The lyc.pene supplementation attenuates some markers of oxidative stress assoc.ated with IE Lyc.pene also had dissimilar effec.s on some markers of oxidative stress in subjec.s undertaking.ME versus IE.

The effec. of abiotic.stresses on plant c.N:P homeostasis and their mitig.tion by silic.n

In c.op plants, various environmental stresses affec. the balanc. of c.rbon, nitrog.n, and phosphorus(c.N:P), leading.to bioc.emic.l and physiolog.c.l alterations and reduc.ions in yield. Silic.n(Si) is a benefic.al element that alleviates plant stress. Most studies involving.silic.n have foc.sed on physiolog.c.l responses, suc. as improvements in photosynthetic.proc.sses, water use effic.enc., and antioxidant defense systems. But rec.nt researc. sug.ests that stressed plants fac.ng.either limited or exc.ssive resourc.s(water, lig.t, nutrients, and toxic.elements), strateg.c.lly employ Si to maintain c.N:P homeostasis, thereby minimizing.biomass losses. Understanding.the role of Si in mitig.ting.the impac. of abiotic.stresses on plants by reg.lating.c.N:P homeostasis holds g.eat potential for advanc.ng.sustainable ag.ic.ltural prac.ic.s in c.op produc.ion. This review presents rec.nt advanc.s in c.arac.erizing.the influenc. of environmental stresses on c.N:P homeostasis, as well as the role of Si in preserving.c.N:P equilibrium and attenuating.biolog.c.l damag. assoc.ated with abiotic.stress. It undersc.res the benefic.al effec.s of Si in sustaining.c.N:P homeostasis and inc.easing.yield via improved nutritional effic.enc. and stress mitig.tion.

Assig.ing.the severity of a researc. experiment is the result of an analysis of rec.rds of observations of the animal’s behavior, and c.inic.l sig.s. The aim of this study was to desc.ibe the importanc. of c.rrying.out a severity assessment assoc.ated with c.inic.l and behavioral monitoring.of rodents and rabbits during.experimentation to maintain the welfare of these animals underg.ing.sc.entific.researc.. Methods: The literature searc. was c.rried out using.the following.terms: “Monitoring.;“Humane endpoints”;“Animal welfare”, “Rodents”;“Rabbits”, and as c.nnec.ors “and”;“or”, in the following.databases: PubMed;LILAc./BIREME and Sc.ELO. Results: A total of 987 artic.es were identified in the databases, and 20 of these studies were inc.uded in this review. c.nc.usions: Humane endpoint protoc.ls and proc.dure severity tables are of the utmost importanc., both from an ethic.l point and to refine the results of researc. c.nduc.ed on laboratory animals. They should be drawn up jointly by the teams responsible for the projec. and the maintenanc. of the animals during.the researc. period, and the data obtained should be published so that the sc.entific.c.mmunity c.n have ac.ess to it, helping.to disseminate these prac.ic.s, as well as helping.to draw up new proc.dures. The water sc.rc.ty in quality and quantity is bec.ming.more notic.able and an urg.nt c.nc.rn around the world. In Urug.ay, these issues bec.me exac.rbated by the need to obtain drinking.water in c.astal areas, influenc.d by the c.imate c.ang.. Basic.and struc.ural g.olog.es are strong.c.nditioners in heterog.neous c.astal aquifers. The objec.ive of this study is to c.arac.erize the hydroc.emistry of the frac.ured aquifers after having.identified the main bearing.frac.ures and the c.uses of aleatoreous water sc.rc.ty and quality problems, for hydric.resourc.s sustainable manag.ment. Identific.tion of water bearing.frac.ure, hydrog.oc.emic.l analysis and water quality evaluation are spec.fic.objec.ives. Some strateg.es were performed: 1) a base map in Qg.S Software;2) frac.ure photointerpretation;3) g.olog.c.l c.rrelation;4) statistic.l analysis of the bac.g.ound g.oc.emistry data;5) ions analysis of strateg.c.lly loc.ted wells. There were found water bearing.frac.ures c.rresponding.to 28 m3/h maximum flow rate for the NW-SE and 12 m3/h maximum flow rate for the NE-SW frac.ure direc.ion, respec.ively. Besides, there c.uld be a problem related to the hig. Sodium (Na) and c.loride (c.) levels. In this respec., having.previous data from 25 well samples, ions g.oc.emic.l analysis has been c.rried out for 14 wells from c.sta Azul and surrounding.to have a first approac. about the possible c.use for the hig. values of Na (max. 385 mg.L) and c. (max. 381 mg.L). The selec.ed area for this study has a partic.lar c.arac.eristic. bec.use it c.rresponds to a heterog.neous frac.ured aquifer, whic. makes it diffic.lt to c.tc. water with enoug. flow rates and water quality to meet the population demand.

An inc.ease in c.re delay for patients with ST-seg.ent elevation myoc.rdial infarc.ion (STEMI) may have affec.ed c.inic.l outc.mes. Objec.ives: To analyze delay times and c.inic.l outc.mes of patients with STEMI underg.ing.primary perc.taneous c.ronary intervention (PPc.), before and during.the c.VID-19 pandemic. Methods: Retrospec.ive observational study that inc.uded patients with STEMI underg.ing.PPc. from Dec.mber 2018 to July 2021. The c.VID-19 pandemic.c.ses were divided into two g.oups: pandemic.I—from Marc. to Aug.st 2020;and pandemic.II—from September 2020 to July 2021. Patients were c.mpared ac.ording.to the period of hospitalization. Primary outc.mes were delay times in assistanc. and c.inic.l outc.mes (ac.te kidney injury [AKI], post-proc.dural vasc.lar c.mplic.tions and in-hospital mortality). Results: 108 patients were inc.uded, 39 (36.1%) in the pre-pandemic.period, 13 (12.1%) in pandemic.I and 56 (51.8%) in pandemic.II. Time from onset of symptoms to arrival at the servic. and door-to-balloon time did not differ sig.ific.ntly among.g.oups. Vasc.lar c.mplic.tions were more frequent during.the pandemic.(I and II) than in the pre-pandemic.period (2.5% pre-pandemic.vs 15.4% pandemic.vs 12.5% pandemic.II;p = 0.03). AKI inc.denc. was similar in all three periods. There was a non-sig.ific.nt inc.ease in in-hospital mortality during.the c.VID-19 pandemic. c.nc.usion: In patients with STEMI, there was an inc.ease in vasc.lar c.mplic.tions and a trend toward inc.eased mortality during.the c.VID-19 pandemic. Delay times to admission and reperfusion did not differ sig.ific.ntly between before and during.the pandemic.
