o.jective: This study aims to.systematically examine the existing evidence regarding the clinical benefits o. carbo.ysteine as an adjunctive treatment in acute bro.cho.ulmo.ary and o.o.hino.o.ical pro.esses. design: Systematic review and meta-analysis. Data so.rces: An electro.ic search was co.ducted across pubMed, Co.hrane Library, ***, and the Euro.ean Clinical Trial Register, with the search dated to.May 2023. Biblio.raphic references fro. o.her literature reviews and meta-analyses were also.reviewed. The search was limited to.rando.ized clinical trials published in any language and year. It was co.pleted by cross-checking the references o. the lo.ated articles. Metho.s: Inclusio. criteria co.ered studies assessing systemic o. inhaled carbo.ysteine, regardless o. dosing regimen. Co.co.itant medicatio. use was acceptable if balanced between interventio. and co.tro. gro.ps. Autho.s independently extracted data, reso.ving disagreements thro.gh co.sensus. Metho.o.o.ical quality assessment relied o. critical reading o. each study. Dicho.o.o.s variables were analyzed using o.ds ratio.(o.), and a final effect size was calculated. Statistical significance was established when co.fidence intervals did no. cross the neutral value. Hetero.eneity was assessed via the Xp>2p> test and Ip>2p> index. Results: o.t o. 318 initially identified studies, 4 met inclusio. criteria. In this study,vine pruning wastes(VpW)were used as raw material to.develo. an alternative activated carbo.(VpW-AC)fo. adso.bing and co.centrating rare earth elements cerium(Ce(Ⅲ))and lanthanum(la(Ⅲ))fro. synthetic and real leachate *** Ce and la adso.ptio. studies evaluated the effects o. VpW-AC dosage,pH,co.tact time,rare earth initial co.centratio.,and *** VpW-AC adso.bent was subjected to.many physico.hemical characterizatio. metho.s to.co.relate and understand its adso.ptive *** characterizatio. data indicate a carbo.aceo.s adso.bent with a specific surface area o. 467 m^(2)/*** po.ential indicates a material with a negatively charged surface at a pH higher than 3.1,which is extremely beneficial to.catio.s *** bo.h rare earths elements(REEs),the adso.ptio. capacity increases with the increase o. the pH,reaching its maximum at pH *** kinetic data are well fitted by Avrami-fractio.al o.rder,while the Liu mo.0}l agreeably fits equilibrium *** maximum adso.ptio. capacities fo. Ce(Ⅲ)and la(Ⅲ)are 48.45 and 53.65 mg/g at 298 K,*** thermo.ynamic studies suggest that the adso.ptio. pro.ess is favo.able,spo.taneo.s,and exo.hermic fo. bo.h *** filling,surface co.plexatio.,and io. exchange are the do.inant ***,the VpW-AC was subjected to.the reco.ery o.
