Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative condition characterized by motor impairments caused by the selective loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia *** is an effective and well-tolerated dopamine replacement ***,levodopa provides only symptomatic improvements,without affecting the underlying pathology,and is associated with side effects after long-term ***-based replacement is a promising strategy that offers the possibility to replace lost neurons in Parkinson’s disease *** studies of transplantation of human fetal ventral mesencephalic tissue have provided evidence that the grafted dopaminergic neurons can reinnervate the striatum,release dopamine,integrate into the host neural circuits,and improve motor *** of the limiting factors for cell therapy in Parkinson’s disease is the low survival rate of grafted dopaminergic *** factors could cause cell death of dopaminergic neurons after grafting such as mechanical trauma,growth factor deprivation,hypoxia,and *** factors play an essential role in the survival of grafted ***,direct,timely,and controllable delivery of neurotrophic factors into the brain faces important *** types of cells secrete neurotrophic factors constitutively and co-transplantation of these cells with dopaminergic neurons represents a feasible strategy to increase neuronal *** this review,we provide a general overview of the pioneering studies on cell transplantation developed in patients and animal models of Parkinson’s disease,with a focus on neurotrophic factor-secreting cells,with a particular interest in mesenchymal stromal cells;that co-implanted with dopaminergic neurons would serve as a strategy to increase cell survival and improve graft outcomes.

Despite the existence of treatment for diabetes,inadequate metabolic control triggers the appearance of chronic complications such as diabetic *** retinopathy is considered a multifactorial disease of complex etiology in which oxidative stress and low chronic inflammation play essential *** exposure to hyperglycemia triggers a loss of redox balance that is critical for the appearance of neuronal and vascular damage during the development and progression of the *** therapies for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy are used in advanced stages of the disease and are unable to reverse the retinal damage induced by *** lack of effective therapies without side effects means there is an urgent need to identify an early action capable of preventing the development of the disease and its pathophysiological consequences in order to avoid loss of vision associated with diabetic ***,in this review we propose different therapeutic targets related to the modulation of the redox and inflammatory status that,potentially,can prevent the development and progression of the disease.

This work presents the design of a robust foam formulation that tolerates harsh reservoir conditions(high salinity,high divalent ion concentration,high temperature,light oil,and hydrocarbon injection gas)in a sandstone *** this,we selected anionic Alpha Olefin sulfonate(AOS)surfactants and studied their synergistic effects in mixtures with zwitterionic betaines to enhance foam *** laboratory workflow used to define the best formulation followed a de-risking approach in three consecutive ***,(phase 1)the main surfactant(AOS)was selected among a series of commercial candidates in static ***,(phase 2)the betaine booster to be combined with the previously selected AOS was chosen and their ratio optimized in static ***,(phase 3)the surfactant/booster ratio was optimized under dynamic conditions in a porous medium in the absence and the presence of *** a result of this study,a mixture of an AOS C14-C16 and cocamidopropyl hydroxysultaine(CAPHS)was selected as the one having the best *** designed formulation was proven to be robust in a wide range of *** generated a strong and stable foam at reservoir conditions,overcoming variations in salinity and foam quality,and tolerated the presence of oil.

Direct seawater splitting has emerged as a popular and promising research direction for synthesising clean,green,non-polluting,and sustainable hydrogen energy without depending on high-purity water in the face of the world’s shortage of fossil ***,efficient seawater splitting is hindered by slow kinetics caused by the ultra-low conductivity and the presence of bacteria,microorganisms,and stray ions in ***,producing hydrogen on an industrial scale is challenging due to the high production *** present review addresses these challenges from the catalyst point of view,namely,that designing catalysts with high catalytic activity and stability can directly affect the rate and effect of seawater *** the ion transfer perspective,designing membranes can block harmful ions,improving the stability of seawater *** the energy point of view,mixed seawater systems and self-powered systems also provide new and low-energy research systems for seawater ***,ideas and directions for further research on direct seawater splitting in the future are pointed out,with the aim of achieving low-cost and high-efficiency hydrogen production.

Apomorphine is a non-specific dopamine receptor agonist that has been used in the treatment of some diseases and mental disorders. Its use has particularly well documented in Parkinson＇s disease（PD）. The dopaminergic agonists like apomorphine are related to oxidative processes that could induce cell damage and the functional impairment of some structures in the brain. However, most information about apomorphine in literature is focused on the improvement of the motor problems characteristic of PD, but little is known about the effects on cognitive behaviors and brain structures indirectly related to motor function. The presence of dopaminergic receptors in the hippocampus has recently been discovered, in connection with cognitive behaviors like learning and memory, these receptors are needed in neuronal plasticity. There has been a growing interest to know if this structure could be compromised by the effect of apomorphine and elucidate if part of the cognitive impairment present in the PD is due to the effect of apomorphine. In this mini-review, we summarized how apomorphine has been used since its creation, we discuss the latest information about its effect on the hippocampus and also the future perspectives to fully understand the effects of this compound.

The renin angiotensin system(RAS)appears to influence male fertility at multiple *** this work,we analyzed the relationship between the RAS and DNA *** male volunteers were divided into two groups(25 each):control(DNA fragmentation≤20%)and pathological(DNA fragmentation>20%)*** of five peptidases controlling RAS were measured fluorometrically:prolyl endopeptidase(which converts angiotensin[A]I and A II to A 1–7),neutral endopeptidase(NEP/CD10:A I to A 1–7),aminopeptidase N(APN/CD13:A III to A IV),aminopeptidase A(A II to A III)and aminopeptidase B(A III to A IV).Angiotensin-converting enzyme(A I to A II),APN/CD13 and NEP/CD10 were also assessed by semiquantitative cytometry and quantitative flow cytometry assays,as were the receptors of all RAS components:A II receptor type 1(AT1R),A II receptor type 2(AT2R),A IV receptor(AT4R or insulin-regulated aminopeptidase[IRAP]),(pro)renin receptor(PRR)and A 1–7 receptor or Mas receptor(MasR)None of the enzymes that regulate levels of RAS components,except for APN/CD13(decrease in fragmented cells),showed significant differences between both *** of RAS receptors revealed no significant differences in immunolabeling patterns between normozoospermic and fragmented *** of AT1R(94.3%normozoospermic vs 84.1%fragmented),AT4R(96.2%vs 95.3%)and MasR(97.4%vs 87.2%)was similar between the ***2R(87.4%normozoospermic vs 63.1%fragmented)and PRR(96.4%vs 48.2%)were higher in non-fragmented *** findings suggest that fragmented DNA spermatozoa have a lower capacity to respond to bioactive RAS peptides.

The society in the digital transformation era demands new decision schemes such as e-democracy or based on social *** novel decision schemes require the participation of many experts/decision makers/stakeholders in the decision *** a result,large-scale group decision making(LSGDM)has attracted the attention of many researchers in the last decade and many studies have been conducted in order to face the challenges associated with the ***,this paper aims at reviewing the most relevant studies about LSGDM,identifying the most profitable research trends and analyzing them from a critical point of *** do so,the Web of Science database has been consulted by using different *** these results a total of 241 contributions were found and a selection process regarding language,type of contribution and actual relation with the studied topic was then carried *** 87 contributions finally selected for this review have been analyzed from four points of view that have been highly remarked in the topic,such as the preference structure in which decision-makers’opinions are modeled,the group decision rules used to define the decision making process,the techniques applied to verify the quality of these models and their applications to real world problems ***,a critical analysis of the main limitations of the existing proposals is ***,taking into account these limitations,new research lines for LSGDM are proposed and the main challenges are stressed out.

This paper analyses the oxidation of ferrous iron via chemical and biological means in a class of Sequential Batch Reactors(SBR-type).For this,a kinetic model for the study of iron oxidation system is proposed,followed by a parametric sensitivity analysis and a bifurcation analysis,which allow selecting the most influential kinetic parameters in order to ensure a suitable prediction capacity of the mathematical *** system consists of two SBR bioreactors,the first being used to produce hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)that is fed to a second reactor where the iron oxidation is carried out by chemical–biological *** predictions were compared with experimental data for the production of H2O2 and for ferrous iron oxidation,finding suitable correlation coefficients(r2 N 0.98)for each state *** bifurcation analysis showed the trajectories of the main variables,such as,biomass,H2O2 and ferrous iron,under the change of the most influential kinetic *** analysis demonstrates the usefulness of the constructed model to predict the kinetic behaviour of the SBR-type process.

Comparative voltammetry and differential double-layer capacitance studies were performed to evaluate interfacial interactions between cnalcopyrite（CuFeS2） and n-isopropyl xanthate（X） in the presence of ammonium bisulfite/39wt%SO2 and caustic starch at different pH *** spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared（FTIR） spectroscopy,contact angle measurements,and microflotation tests were used to establish the type and extent of xanthate adsorption as well as the species involved under different mineral surface conditions in this *** results demonstrate that the species that favor a greater hydrophobicity of chalcopyrite are primarily CuX and S^0,whereas oxides and hydroxides of Cu and Fe as well as an excess of starch decrease the hydrophobicity.A conditioning of the mineral surface with ammonium bisulfite/39wt%SO2 at pH 6 promotes the activation of surface and enhances the xanthate ***,this effect is diminished at pH ≥ 8,when an excess of starch is added during the preconditioning step.
