Case Presentati.n: We present a rare case of a 54-year-old Caucasi.n female wh. underwent surgery for abdomi.al compartment syndrome i. th. setti.g of scleroderma. Upon arri.al, at th. h.spi.al, th. pati.nt’s h.alth.status sh.wed si.ns of i.provement wi.h.no i.di.ators of abdomi.al compartment syndrome unti. th. tenth.h.spi.al day. A CT scan sh.wed a new i.tra-abdomi.al flui. collecti.n wi.h.total lower abdomi.al anasarca and a stable retroperi.oneal h.matoma. Followi.g emergency surgery, si.ni.i.ant bowel edema wi.h.ut oth.r i.tra-abdomi.al i.juri.s was noted. Conclusi.n: Secondary abdomi.al compartment syndrome may occur i. pati.nts wi.h.scleroderma wi.h.ut evi.ence of i.tra-abdomi.al trauma or emergent abdomi.al surgery.
