Chemistry modifications are usually performed to introduce specific g.oup that can increase properties and functionality of materials. In this study, we present the synthesis of six new functionalized monomers prepared by nucleophilic substitution reactions. Reaction of aliphatic and aromatic amines with acryloyl chloride at –20ºC, in presence of triethylamine allowed the synthesis of the corresponding.amides. Proton nuclear mag.etic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and ultraviolet- visible (UV-Vis) measurements confirmed the success of the synthesis with a yield over 90%. These compounds emerg.d as potentially attractive monomers since they can be used to obtain stimuli-sensitive polymeric materials, due to the presence of amide and pyridine g.oups.

The massive reductions in anthropog.nic emissions resulting.from the COVID-19 lockdown provided a unique opportunity to evaluate the effect of mitig.tion measures aiming.to abate air *** Mexico,the total lockdown period took place during.the dry-hot season when biomass burning.activity is ***,we investig.te the role of biomass burning.emissions on reg.onal ozone levels in the Meg.lopolis of Central *** studied period covers the lockdown phases 2 and 3,and the first month of the New *** applied a factor separation technique and process analysis to estimate the pure and synerg.stic contributions of emission reductions under lockdown and that from biomass burning.to daily ozone maximum concentrations in 7 metropolitan areas of different states in the *** results revealed that biomass burning.plumes likely masked the effect of massive reductions from mobile emissions,impacted the PBL development during.phase 3 and favored transition and mixed NO_(x)-limited and VOC-limited reg.onal *** contributed to increased ozone production in the middle to lower PBL by chang.ng.the reg.onal backg.ound levels which potentially could bias hig. ozone production efficiency *** the Meg.lopolis contribution to economic and societal development at national scale,our study sug.ests that ozone mitig.tion measures during.the dry-hot season targ.ting.mainly mobile emissions will likely be offset by biomass burning.plumes.A reg.onal and synerg.c policy aiming.to control biomass burning.would help to reduce the occurrence of hig. ozone levels in Central Mexico with the co-benefit of tackling.short-lived climate pollutants.

There is an increasing.interest in restoring.deg.aded forests,which occupy half of the forest *** the forms of restoration,passive restoration,which involves the elimination of deg.ading.factors and the free evolution of natural dynamics by applying.minimal or no manag.ment,is g.ining.*** dynamics is difficult to predict due to the influence of multiple interacting.factors such as climatic and edaphic conditions,composition and abundance of species,and the successional character of these ***,we study the natural dynamics of a mixed forest located in central Spain,which maintained an open forest structure,due to intensive use,until g.azing.and cutting.were banned in the *** most frequent woody species in this forest are Fag.s sylvatica,Quercus petraea,Quercus pyrenaica,Ilex aquifolium,Sorbus aucuparia,Sorbus aria and Prunus avium,with contrasting.shade and droug.t *** species are common in temperate European deciduous forest and are found here near their southern distribution limit,except for *** order to analyze forest dynamics and composition,three inventories were carried out in 1994,2005 and *** results show that,despite the Mediterranean influence,the natural dynamics of this forest has been mainly determined by different levels of shade *** the abandonment of g.azing.and cutting.*** expanded rapidly due to its lower shade tolerance,whereas after canopy closure and forest densification,shade-tolerant species g.ined g.ound,particularly ***,despite its lower droug.t and late-frost *** the current dynamics continue,*** will overtake the rest of the species,which will be releg.ted to sites with shallow soils and steep ***,all the multi-centennial beech trees,which are underg.ing.a rapid mortality and decline process,will disappear.
