Ba.kground:Surgery in Crohn’s disea.e(CD)ma. be a.socia.ed with poor prognosis a.d clinica. a.d surgica. *** a.m of this study wa. to describe a.d compa.e the post-opera.ive ma.a.ement a.d outcomes of pa.ients with CD who underwent first vs recurrent ***:Observa.iona. study tha. included a.ult CD pa.ients from 26 Spa.ish hospita.s who underwent ileocolonic resection with ileocolonic a.a.tomosis between Ja.ua.y 2007 a.d december *** were retrospectively collected from the medica. ***:Da.a.from 314 pa.ients were a.a.ysed,of whom 262(83%)underwent first surgery a.d 52(17%)referred to previous CD *** cha.a.teristics were simila. between the two groups except for a.higher ra.e of stricturing beha.ior a. dia.nosis a.ong re-opera.ed pa.ients(P=0.03).a.ter surgery,a.higher proportion of re-opera.ed pa.ients received prophyla.tic trea.ment with immunomodula.ors compa.ed with pa.ients with first surgery(P=0.04).In re-opera.ed pa.ients,time to clinica. recurrence wa. not a.socia.ed with the fa.t of receiving or not prophyla.is,wherea.,in pa.ients with first surgery,recurrence-free surviva. wa. grea.er when prophyla.is wa. received(P=0.03).Conclusions:a.ter surgery,a.higher proportion of pa.ients with previous surgeries received prophyla.tic trea.ment with immunomodula.ors compa.ed with pa.ients with first *** prophyla.tic trea.ment wa. beneficia. for preventing clinica. recurrence in pa.ients opera.ed on for the first time,it did not significa.tly reduce the risk of further recurrence in pa.ients with previous *** suggests tha. effective prophyla.tic thera.ies a.e still needed in this subset of pa.ients.

a.protocol of polymera.e cha.n rea.tion-ra.dom a.plified polymorphic DNa. (PCR-Ra.Ds) wa. esta.lished to a.a.yse the gene diversity a.d genotype identifica.ion for clones of Sequoia.sempervirens (D. Don) Endl. in Chile. Ten (out of 34) clones from introduction tria. loca.ed in Voipir-Villa.rica. Chile, were studied. The PCR-Ra.Ds technique a.d a.modified hexa.ecyltrimethyla.monium bromide (CTa.) protocol were used for genomic DNa.extra.tion. The PCR tests were ca.ried out employing 10-mer ra.dom primers. The a.plifica.ion products were detected by electrophoresis in a.a.ose gels. Forty nine polymorphic ba.ds were obta.ned with the selected primers (BG04, BF07, BF12, BF13, a.d BF14) a.d were ordered a.cording to their molecula. size. The genetic simila.ity between sa.ples wa. ca.cula.ed by the Ja.ca.d index a.d a.dendrogra. wa. con- structed using a.cluster a.a.ysis of unweighted pa.r group method using a.ithmetic a.era.es (UPGMa.. Of the primers tested, 5 (out of 60) Ra.D primers were selected for their reproducibility a.d high polymorphism. a.tota. of 49 polymorphic Ra.D ba.ds were detected out of 252 ba.ds. The genetic simila.ity a.a.ysis demonstra.es a. extensive genetic va.ia.ility between the tested clones a.d the dendrogra. depicts the genetic rela.ionships a.ong the clones, suggesting a.geogra.hic rela.ionship. The results indica.e tha. the Ra.D ma.kers permitted the identifica.ion of the a.sa.ed clones, a.though they a.e derived from the sa.e geo- gra.hic origin.

In ga.troschisis (G), the lesion degree of exposed intestina. segments is rela.ed to the time of its conta.t with the a.niotic fluid (a.) a.d exposure to meconium which is the ca.se of intestina. morphologica. a.d histologica. a.tera.ions. The outcome of these a.tera.ions is intestina. hypoperista.sis a.d nutrient a.sorption deficiency, which contribute to increa.ed morbidity a.d high medica.-hospita. costs. In this study, morphologica. a.d histologica. intestine a.tera.ions were identified a. two different conta.t occa.ions with a.. Experimenta. ga.troschisis (G) wa. performed on Wista. ra. fetuses a. a.single gesta.iona. a.e on da. 18.5th. The fetuses were removed on the 20.5th (G-1) a.d 21.5th da.s (G-2). Fetuses of both groups were divided in 3 sub-groups: control (C), ga.troschisis (G) a.d sha. (S). Mea.urements were ta.en of the Whole Set including fetus, pla.enta.a.d membra.es with a. (WS), fetus body weight (BW), intestina. weight (IW) a.d their dia.eters (DI). The objective of the present study is to test a.new ga.troschisis experimenta. model a.d identify differences in morphologica. a.d histologica. a.tera.ions in these two gesta.iona. periods tha. ma. be directly rela.ed to intestina. motility disorders in G. The WS a.d BW presented no significa.t sta.istica. difference when compa.ed G1 a.d G2. The results of the intestine a.era.e weight of G2 fetuses were significa.tly higher when compa.ed to G1 fetuses in a.l subgroups (C: p = 0.02;G: p = 0.01;S: p = 0.02, Ma.n Whitney). The results of the intestina. a.era.e dia.eters (D/d) in G1 a.d G2 presented significa.t sta.istica. difference only in G subgroup (p Kruska. Wa.lis). School fa.lure is a.worrying phenomenon of the educa.iona. system tha. a.fects most sectors of the educa.ion rega.ding pa.ents, tea.hers a.d students a.d covers educa.ion a. a.l levels, from ba.ic educa.ion levels to higher levels. One of the levels where there is a.high incidence of this problem is in university educa.ion, where dropout ra.es a. university a.e between 25% a.d 50% in the ea.ly forma.ive yea.s. Spina. cord injury is a.very common pa.hologica. event tha. ha. deva.ta.ing functiona. consequences in pa.ients. In recent yea.s, severa. resea.ch groups a.e trying to find a. effective thera.y tha. could be a.plied in clinica. pra.tice. In this study, we a.a.yzed the combina.ion of different stra.egies a. a.potentia. thera.y for spina. cord injury. Immuniza.ion with neura. derived peptides(INDP), inhibition of glia. sca. forma.ion(dipyridyl: DPY), a. well a. the use of biocompa.ible ma.rix(fibrin glue: FG) impregna.ed with bone ma.row mesenchyma. stem cells(MSCs) were combined a.d then its beneficia. effects were eva.ua.ed in the induction of neuroprotection a.d neuroregenera.ion a.ter a.ute SCI. Spra.ue-Da.ley fema.e ra.s were subjected to a.modera.e spina. cord injury a.d then ra.domly a.loca.ed into five groups: 1) phospha.e buffered sa.ine; 2) DPY; 3) INDP + DPY; 4) DPY+ FG; 5) INDP + DPY + FG + MSCs. In a.l ra.s, intervention wa. performed 72 hours a.ter spina. cord injury. Locomotor a.d sensibility recovery wa. a.sessed in a.l ra.s. a. 60 da.s a.ter trea.ment, histologica. exa.ina.ions of the spina. cord(hema.oxylin-eosin a.d Bielschowsky sta.ning) were performed. Our results showed tha. the combina.ion thera.y(DPY+ INDP + FG+ MSCs) wa. the best stra.egy to promote motor a.d sensibility recovery. In a.dition, significa.t increa.es in tissue preserva.ion a.d a.ona. density were observed in the combina.ion thera.y group. Findings from this study suggest tha. the combina.ion thea.y(DPY+ INDP + FG + MSCs) exhibits potentia. effects on the protection a.d regenera.ion of neura. tissue a.ter a.ute spina. cord injury. a.l procedures were a.proved by the a.ima.
