Mutations in DnA repair enzymes can cause two neurological clinical manifestations:a developmental impairment and a degenerative *** kinase 3′-phosphatase(PnKP)is an enzyme that is actively involved in DnA repair in both single and double strand break repair *** in this protein or others in the same pathway are responsible for a complex group of diseases with a broad clinical ***,mitochondrial dysfunction also has been consolidated as a hallmark of brain *** we provide evidence that supports a shared role between mitochondrial dysfunction and DnA repair defects in the pathogenesis of the nervous *** models,we analyze PnKP-related disorders,focusing on Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and ataxia.A better understanding of the molecular dynamics of this relationship could provide improved diagnosis and treatment for neurological diseases.

Endophytes infect living plant tissues without causing symptoms of ***,many of them contribute to the resistance phenotype of their ***,fungal endophytes are generally closely related to plant pathogens,fungi that either develop within living host tissue(biotrophic fungi)or that kill the host cells and then live in the dead tissue(necrotrophic fungi).We adopted a phylogenetic approach to investigate whether these strategies represent evolutionarily stable lifestyles and to elucidate their general phylogenetic *** analysed 163 fungal strains for which we found information on the sequence of the 5.8S rRnA gene and the flanking internal transcribed spacer regions,the identity of the host plant and the concrete phenotypic outcome of the infection.A Maximum-Likelihood analysis combined with ancestral character mapping by maximum parsimony revealed that some fungal lineages had switched multiple times between a necrotrophic and an endophytic *** character mapping indicated a minimum of four changes from an endophytic to a necrotrophic lifestyle,four changes in the opposite direction and eight changes among these lifestyles for which the direction could not be determined *** contrast,biotrophs formed five clusters that did not contain necrotrophs or *** biotrophy evolves there is apparently no regression to one of the other two *** conclude that biotrophy usually represents a derived and evolutionarily stable trait,whereas fungi easily can switch between an endophytic and necrotrophic lifestyle at the evolutionary and even the ecological *** experimental studies should focus on the environmental or genetic changes that cause the rapid switches between these two phenotypically different lifestyles.

The Iberian hare(Lepus granatensis)is an endemic species distributed in Spain and *** outbreaks affecting this species were detected in 2018 in Central and Southern Spain,spreading *** to evaluate factors affecting the status of hare population after the arrival of myxomatosis,we conducted 108 nocturnal hare counts in Central Spain during two study periods(winter/spring and summer/autumn)in 54 different hunting grounds,covering 1071 km and observing 884 *** mean density in winter/spring was 7.66 hares/100 ha,(range 6.14-9.54/100 ha),while in summer/autumn,it was 3.4 hares/100 ha(range 2.6-4.4/100 ha).Densities of hares were not affected by the dominant habitat and the presence/absence of myxomatosis *** were more abundant at hunting grounds at a higher altitude and in those conducting targeted management,while detection of myxomatosis was related to lower altitude and higher levels of game management.A MaxEnt model used to generate a risk map for myxomatosis occurrence showed that the temperature annual range was the most important predictor,which suggests that environmental factors affecting myxomatosis vectors(mosquitoes,fleas,and ticks)could play a key role in disease *** myxomatosis in hares is becoming endemic,hare densities may be improved by game management and the monitoring and surveillance of this emerging *** surveillance programs could be the basis of effective collaborations between hunters,researchers,and environmental managers.

Microorganims of the bovine rumen fluid biocatalyzed the reduction of nitro-compound substrates to yield the respective amines. This enzymatic process, using ruminal contents, has rarely been reported in associa- tion with the bioreduction of nitro groups. The biotransformation reactions catalyzed by this system were de- pendent of both the electronic characteristics and the area/volume of the nitro-substrates confirming the processes are enzymatic. The semi-preparative scale biotransformation went by in good yield showing the rumen fluid may be employed in the synthesis of amines under very mild conditions and, moreover, it may have application in the bioremediation of nitro-compounds.

This paper presents a study on CO2 atmospheric transformation which was reacted directly with lithium hydroxide solution and metallic lithium. This solution was obtained through the reaction between metallic lithium and deionized water where hydrogen is produced and by exposing the metal at ambient conditions. In the transformation process, atmospheric CO2 gas reacts directly with LiOH solution, in both cases, the CO2 transformation kinetics was different. For this purpose, reactions between CO2 and LiOH solution were carried out under controlled temperature and the second process only with metallic lithium, which was exposed at room temperature, however, in these two processes lithium carbonate oxide was formed and identified. According to the results, the efficiency in CO2 transformation is a function of temperature value which was variable until completely obtaining the by-product, its XRD characterization indicated the formation only of Li2CO3 in both procedures. Under laboratory conditions lithium compounds selectively reacted with CO2. In the same way, there is an alternative procedure to obtain LiOH and Li2CO3 for different applications in various areas.

Hepatic encephalopathy(HE) remains a diagnosis of exclusion due to the lack of specific signs and symptoms. Refractory HE is an uncommon but serious condition that requires the search of hidden precipitating events(i.e.,portosystemic shunt) and alternative diagnosis. Hypothyroidism shares clinical manifestations with HE and is usually considered within the differential diagnosis of HE. Here,we describe a patient with refractory HE who presented a large portosystemic shunt and post-ablative hypothyroidism. Her cognitive impairment,hyperammonaemia,electroencephalograph alterations,impaired neuropsychological performance,and magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy disturbances were highly suggestive of HE,paralleled the course of hypothyroidism and normalized after thyroid hormone replacement. There was no need for intervention over the portosystemic shunt. The case findings support that hypothyroidism may precipitate HE in cirrhotic patients by inducing hyperammonaemia and/or enhancing ammonia brain toxicity. This case led us to consider hypothyroidism not only in the differential diagnosis but also as a precipitating factor of HE.

In this study, the growth of Oreochromis niloticus both mixed sex and males sexually reversed were analyzed in concrete ponds in the FES Zaragoza, UnAM, under the environmental conditions of the Mexico City. The experiment was carried from May to november 2013, in two concrete ponds of 50 m2. Similar feeding regime and stocking density of fish were maintained for the culture systems. Different growth parameters like body weight, length, daily weight gain (DWG), specific growth rate (SGR), feed conversion rate (FCR), Fulton’s condition index (K) and survival were analyzed during six months culture period. It was found that culture with monosex males tilapias yielded the highest weight, length, DWG and SGR compared to mixed sex populations tilapias. Water quality was monitored along the experiment. Based on the results, there were statistically significant differences in size (W = 20942.5, p 5 mg/L), warm water (>20°C), productive (3) and slightly basic (pH > 8). Acceptable growth of fish and a yield of 3 ton/ha/6 months were obtained in both two ponds;therefore, the culture of tilapia under conditions of Mexico City was recommended.

In this paper is describing the physicochemical behavior of polyelectrolytes (PEs) used in waste water treatment with mono-, di- and trivalent metal ions as K+, Mg2+, Zn2+, Fe3+, Sn2+, Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, ni2+, Al3+ and Cr3+. A coagulant polyelectrolyte Poly(vinyl sulfate) potassium salt (PVSK), and a commercial available Flocculant Trident 2756, were used as models for the study. The colloidal titration UV-Vis spectroscopy technique was successfully implemented in order to evaluate the complexation of PEs with Toluidine Blue O (OTB) and the ability of different metal ions to displace the OTB from the PE-OTB complex and form the PE-metal ion complex. From the experiments was concluded that PVSK has a high affinity for Al3+ and Mg2+ while the Flocculant has the highest affinity for Sn2+ followed by Zn2+and Mg2+. The absorbance profiles of polyelectrolyte-OTB complex (Absorbance vs. Metal/PE) were used to calculate association constants. On the other hand, the mass balance of OTB and its absorbance profiles were used to calculate the association constants of polyelectrolyte-metal ion complexes. Thus metal ions with the highest affinities have the highest association constant. Metal ions with the highest affinities present the highest values of association constant.
