Introduction: In Burk.na Faso, undernutrition is a public health problem associated with more than 40% of infant and child mortality. Undernutrition management is complex, and there is often a risk.of treatment abandonment. Studies on this topic have not explored the influence of environmental and therapeutic factors on parental compliance. This study proposes an analysis of factors influencing the abandonment of nutritional recovery by parents of malnourished children aged 6 to 59 months in ambulatory care. Methods: This was a descriptive and exploratory qualitative study. Data collection took.place in February 2020. Data were collected from seventeen (17) participants via in-depth interviews (IDI) and direct observation. The IDIs were transcribed verbatim and thematically analyzed using nvivo software. Results: The results revealed that factors related to the physical environment, such as geographical inaccessibility, pastoral occupation, displacement at auriferous sites, and insecurity, are important causes of nutritional recovery abandonment. They also prove that factors related to the social environment, such as lack.of family and social support, feelings of shame, stigmatization, occupation of the mother, and social events, lead to this abandonment. In addition, therapeutic factors such as interruptions of supplies of Ready to Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), feeling of improvement or worsening of the state of health, recourse to traditional medicine, and ignorance of undernutrition are also associated with this issue. Conclusion: This study highlighted barriers to the abandonment of nutritional recovery among parents of severely malnourished children aged 6 to 59 months in the health district of Titao, Burk.na Faso. It is more important to consider these different factors when evaluating care protocols so that policies to reduce child undernutrition can considerably impact the targets.

A Parametric Genetic Algorithm Approach to Assess Complementary Options of Large Scale Wind-solar Coupling

The transitional path towards a highly renewable power system based on wind and solar energy sources is investigated considering their intermittent and spatially distributed characteristics. Using an extensive weather-driven simulation of hourly power mismatches between generation and load, we explore the interplay between geographical resource complementarity and energy storage strategies. Solar and wind resources are considered at variable spatial scales across Europe and related to the Swiss load curve, which serve as a typical demand side reference. The optimal spatial distribution of renewable units is further assessed through a parameterized optimization method based on a genetic algorithm. It allows us to explore systematically the effective potential of combined integration strategies depending on the sizing of the system, with a focus on how overall performance is affected by the definition of network.boundaries. Upper bounds on integration schemes are provided considering both renewable penetration and needed reserve power capacity. The quantitative trade-off between grid extension, storage and optimal wind-solar mix is *** paper also brings insights on how optimal geographical distribution of renewable units evolves as a function of renewable penetration and grid extent.

next Generation Scanning LIDAR Systems for Optimizing Wak. Turbulence Separation Minima

numerous studies have been performed to better understand the behavior of wak. vortices with regards to aircraft characteristics and weather conditionsover the pastten years. These studies have led to the development of the aircraft RECATegorization(RECAT) programs in Europe and in USA. Its phase one focused on redefining distance separation matrix with six static aircraft wak. turbulence categories instead of three with the current International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO) regulations. In Europe, the RECAT-EU regulation is now entering under operational implementation atseveral k.y airports. As proven by several research projects in the past, LIght Detection And Ranging(LIDAR) sensors are considered as the ground truth wak. vortex measurements for assessing the safety impact of a new wak. turbulence regulation at an airport in quantifying the risk. given the local specificities. LIDAR's can also be used to perform risk.monitoring after the implementation. In this paper, the principle to measure wak. vortices with scanning coherent Doppler LIDARs is described as well as its dedicated post-processing. Finally the use of WInDCUBELIDAR based solution for supporting the implementation of new wak. turbulenceregulation is described along with satisfyingresults that have permitted the monitoring of the wak. vortex encounter risk.after the implementation of a new wak. turbulence regulation.

As dipyranylidenes are excellent hole carriers, applications in organic solar cells or organic light emitting diode are envisaged. In the present study, we investigate the morphology of 2,2＇,6,6＇-tetraphenyl-4,4＇-dipyranylidene （DIPO-Ph4） deposited under vacuum on a silicon nitride （Si3n4） substrate, a paradigmatic system for the study of molecular crystal/inorganic substrate interfaces. Samples with various coating ratios and different thermal treatments were prepared. The films were characterized by atomic force microscopy and scanning transmission X-ray microscopy to gain insight into material growth. The results show a change in orientation at a molecular level depending upon the evaporation conditions. We are now able to tailor an organic layer with a specific molecular orientation and a specific electronic behavior.

In recent years,the advancement of artificial intelligence techniques has led to significant interest in reinforcement learning(RL)within the traffic and transportation *** traffic control has emerged as a prominent application field for RL in traffic *** paper presents a comprehensive survey of RL studies in dynamic traffic control,addressing the challenges associated with implementing RL-based traffic control strategies in practice,and identifying promising directions for future *** first part of this paper provides a comprehensive overview of existing studies on RL-based traffic control strategies,encompassing their model designs,training algorithms,and evaluation *** is found that only a few studies have isolated the training and testing environments while evaluating their RL ***,we examine the challenges involved in implementing existing RL-based traffic control *** investigate the learning costs associated with online RL methods and the transferability of offline RL methods through simulation *** simulation results reveal that online training methods with random exploration suffer from high exploration and learning ***,the performance of offline RL methods is highly reliant on the accuracy of the training *** limitations hinder the practical implementation of existing RL-based traffic control *** final part of this paper summarizes and discusses a few existing efforts which attempt to overcome these *** review highlights a rising volume of studies dedicated to mitigating the limitations of RL strategies,with the specific aim of enhancing their practical implementation in recent years.

A history of tourism at the Mer de Glace: Adaptations of glacier tourism to glacier fluctuations since 1741

Climate change induces profound changes in mountain territories that affect the activities pursued *** is one activity that is strongly impacted by these *** research on tourism in mountain regions has focused on winter sports tourism,but glacier tourism,a summer activity,is also severely affected by climate change-induced phenomena,including glacier retreat and other geomorphological *** that Alpine glacier tourism has been pursued since the 18th century and glaciers have been changing throughout this period,this article aims to examine the adaptations implemented by glacier tourism operators since the activity’s *** analysis of historical documents,glaciological surveys and semi-structured interviews,this paper reveals how tourism activities around the Mer de Glace(the largest French glacier)have been impacted by glacier fluctuations since the first visit to the area in *** study reveals that these developments have mainly been driven by glacier retreat and associated paraglacial *** recently,the shortening of the period of snow cover on the glacier has also impacted tourism *** of the adaptation strategies implemented by tourism operators during the period in question are found to be reactive,consisting in the installation of safety equipment,the renovation of access points or the building of new structures to allow tourist activities to continue despite the consequences of glacier *** strategies,such as the adoption of new activities by work.rs previously specialised in another,are identified that could be considered transformative strategies,although these were only adopted by work.rs when their activity was no longer *** analysis of materials from 1741 to the present also reveals that the recent impacts of climate change on glacier tourism are much more significant and diverse than those produced by past ***,it is important that stak.holders tak. suit
