Nowadays,several noninvasive neuroimaging techniques,including transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMS),*** working mechanism behind TMS is a rapidly changing magnetic field that generates an electric current via electromagnetic *** the coil is placed on the scalp,the magnetic field generates a physiological reaction in the underlying neural *** TMS-induced change in the participant’s behavior is used by researchers to investigate the causal relations between specific brain areas and cognitive functions such as language.A variant of TMS has been developed,which is called rapid-rate TMS(rTMS).In this review,three databases(Medline,Educational Resources Information Center,and Scopus)were searched for rTMS studies on normal reading and dyslexia with a cut-off date of October 31,*** was found to be a valuable tool for investigating questions related to reading research,both on the word and the sentence ***,it can be successfully used in research on ***,(high-frequency)rTMS has been used as a“clinical”intervention technique for treating dyslexia and for improving reading performance by exciting underactive reading pathways in the ***,we end the paper with a discussion of future directions in the field of rTMS research and dyslexia,for instance,the promising prospect of combining TMS with simultaneous electroencephalographic imaging.

BACKGROUND： In patients with depression, as well as in patients with schizophrenia, both mood and working memory performance are often impaired. Both issues can only be addressed and improved with medication to some extent. OBJECTIVE： This study investigates the mood and the working memory performance in patients with depression or schizophrenia and whether acupuncture can improve these. DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS AND INTERVENTIONS： A pragmatic clinical trial design was used The study was conducted in a psychiatric clinic. Fifty patients with depression and 50 with schizophrenia were randomly divided into an experimental and a waiting-list group. Additionally, 25 healthy control participants were included. Twelve weeks of individualized acupuncture treatment was used as the clinical intervention. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： All patients were tested before （T1） and after （T2） acupuncture treatment on a mood scale （Beck Depression Inventory-II, BDI-II）, a simple working memory task （digit span）, and a complex working memory task （letter-number sequencing）; the healthy controls were tested at T1 only. RESULTS： Patients with depression scored worse than the others on the BDI-II, and patients with schizophrenia scored worse than the healthy controls. On the digit span, patients with schizophrenia did not differ from healthy controls whereas they scored worse of all on the letter-number sequencing. With respect to the acupuncture findings, first, the present study showed that the use of acupuncture to treat patients with schizophrenia was both practical and safe. Moreover, acupuncture had a positive effect on the BDI-II for the depression group, but acupuncture had no effect on the digit span and on the letter- number sequencing performance for the two clinical groups. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effectiveness of acupuncture in the treatment of chronic schizophrenia and co-morbid sleep ***: A 42-year-old German male outpatient,suffering from long-term schizophrenia and sleep disorders, entered the study. Acupuncture was used as a non-pharmacological intervention. In addition to his ongoing Western Medicine(pharmacological) treatment, the patient received 12 weekly(non-standardized) acupuncture treatments in the clinic. The Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) diagnosis, the psychological assessment and the actiwatch data were compared before and after the acupuncture ***: The TCM diagnosis revealed a Liver Fire pattern before the acupuncture treatment, which was still present, although to a lesser degree, after the treatment. The psychological assessment revealed no change in the positive symptoms, but a small decrease in the negative symptoms and the general psychopathology of the patient. This was further illustrated by the small decrease in the number of depressive symptoms. The subjective sleep disorders improved markedly after acupuncture treatment, but the daytime sleepiness did not. The actiwatch results showed that after acupuncture treatment, the patient was moving less during sleep, but no significant results were found for the other sleep ***: Acupuncture was found to be an effective non-pharmacological add-on method for treating subjective sleep disorders, and, to a lesser degree, objective sleep disorders and the negative symptoms of chronic schizophrenia. Future larger clinical trials with follow-up measurements are needed in order to replicate the present preliminary beneficial acupuncture findings and in order to determine whether the observed effects can be sustained.

Introduction:Although Brownfield greening(BG)can be a crucial solution to green space deficiency in dense urban areas,the potential benefits of different BG initiatives have rarely been quantitatively ***,the concept and main features of BG and its costs and benefits are firstly ***,a conceptual framework is presented which combines ecosystem service(ESS)valuation,economic cost-benefit analysis,and spatial pattern *** framework is used to perform ex ante valuation of the ESS value of BG in Xuhui District,***:The scenario comparison results show that it can spatially reflect a closer-to-reality value of ESS at the urban scale instead of a theoretical value at the site *** ultimate values of ESS(After economic and landscape adjustments)in the composite scenario is more than 21%higher than those in the full-eco scenario,whereas the initial values of ESS(before the adjustments)in the former was 14%lower than those in the *** results suggest that a considerable part of brownfield greening projects need to be implemented in the more populated and economically vibrant areas instead of solely in the ecological construction zone,thereby correspondingly providing more cultural and regulation services and forming a better urban green space ***:The framework provides a simple,science-based,and feasible tool for making BG decisions from a systematic perspective in dense urban *** can help meet the need for applying ESS knowledge to BG-based green space planning and policy making in the context of urban sustainable development.

Magnetic resonance imaging in breast cancer:A literature review and future perspectives

Early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer are essential for successful treatment. Currently mammography and ultrasound are the basic imaging techniques for the detection and localization of breast tumors. The low sensitivity and specificity of these imaging tools resulted in a demand for new imaging modalities and breast magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) has become increasingly important in the detection and delineation of breast cancer in daily practice. However, the clinical benefits of the use of pre-operative MRI in women with newly diagnosed breast cancer is still a matter of debate. The main additional diagnostic value of MRI relies on specific situations such as detecting multifocal, multicentric or contralateral disease unrecognized on conventional assessment(particularly in patients diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma), assessing the response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, detection of cancer in dense breast tissue, recognition of an occult primary breast cancer in patients presenting with cancer metastasis in axillary lymph nodes, among others. Nevertheless, the development of new MRI technolo-gies such as diffusion-weighted imaging, proton spectroscopy and higher field strength 7.0 T imaging offer a new perspective in providing additional information in breast abnormalities. We conducted an expert literature review on the value of breast MRI in diagnosing and staging breast cancer, as well as the future potentials of new MRI technologies.

Systolic and Diastolic Strain Measurements Show Left Ventricular Dysfunction in Women with Turner Syndrome

Aim:This study aimed to describe the systolic left ventricular global longitudinal strain(LvGLS)and left ventricular peak early diastolic strain rate(Sre)in adult women with Turner syndrome(TS)and to determine its relationship with exercise capacity and clinical ***:In this cross-sectional cohort study,consecutively included adult TS women underwent an electrocardiogram,transthoracic echocardiogram(TTE)and cardiopulmonary exercise test(CPET)on the same *** and Sre were measured using 2D speckle tracking analysis(STE)and compared with age-matched healthy female ***:Ninety-four adult women(age 36±13 years)with TS and 32 healthy age-matched female controls were *** with TS had a significantly impaired/reduced systolic LvGLS(–17.82±2.98%vs.–21.80±1.85%,p0.001),compared to healthy female ***,TS women had reduced diastolic function as measured by conventional echocardiographic parameters:A higher A-wave(p<0.001),lower E/A-ratio(p=0.001),longer deceleration time(p=0.006),and a higher E/E’-ratio(p<0.001).Women with TS also had a significantly reduced maximal workload(p=0.033),reduced oxygen uptake(p<0.001)and a reduced maximal heart rate(p<0.001)during *** linear regression analysis revealed that Age,karyotype and QT-duration were significantly associated with Sre,but not with LvGLS,in the TS ***:Systolic and diastolic strain and exercise capacity were significantly reduced in TS women compared to healthy *** correlation between strain itself and exercise capacity could be demonstrated,but correlations with conventional TTE parameters and baseline characteristics were found.

Traditional Chinese medicine （TCM） is gaining popularity in the treatment of psychiatric disorders that can be described and treated from either an Eastern or a Western perspective. In Eastern medicine, the disorders are described according to five diagnostic methods that are used in TCM： inspection, auscultation, olfaction, inquiry, and palpation, including tongue and pulse diagnosis.
