Transdisciplinary Team in Rehabilitation of Unconscious Brain-Damaged Persons: Grounds and Practice

The main features of early rehabilitation after severe brain damage are discussed in the article. The most important component for the entire rehabilitation process and the subsequent life of the patient is considered restoration of consciousness. Team seems to be a key factor in regaining consciousness along with the restoration of vital functions, movement, cognition, and behavior in these patients. The basic working principle is feedback to any minimal movement, or vegetative signal of a patient, beyond specific professional targets. A network of feedbacks with a patient and between professionals, that is, free flow of information, can be built only through work in a transdisciplinary team mode. The net of feedbacks with the patient and inter-professional ones builds up the team as Non-linear Complex System. Characteristics of “Team-Patient” system status are energy, entropy, and complexity. Teamwork techniques are individualized for resulting optimization of system condition. Increase of complexity is a powerful tool for propulsion of recovery process. Then consciousness may appear as a result of system self-organization. The article reflects the authors’ view on interdisciplinary studies of the phenomenon of consciousness through its impairment and recovery. It focuses on the work of the “proper rehabilitation team”, the mechanisms of its action and methods for researching the occurring phenomena.

A striking feature of the Mongolian plateau is the wide range of air temperatures during a year, -30 to 30~C. High summer temperatures, atmospheric weathering and the arid climate lead to formation of numerous alkaline soda lakes that are covered by ice during 6-7 months per year. During the study period, the lakes had pH values between 8.1 to 10.4 and salinity between 1.8 and 360 g/L. According to chemical composition, the lakes belong to sodium carbonate, sodium chloride-carbonate and sodium sulfate-carbonate types. This paper presents the data on the water chemical composition, results of the determination of the rates of microbial processes in microbial mats and sediments in the lakes studied, and the results of a Principal Component Analysis of environmental variables and microbial activity data. Temperature was the most important factor that influenced both chemical composition and microbial activity, pH and salinity are also important factors for the microbial processes. Dark CO2 fixation is impacted mostly by salinity and the chemical composition of the lake water. Total photosynthesis and sulfate-reduction are impacted mostly by pH. Photosynthesis is the dominant process of primary production, but the highest rate （386 mg C/（L.d）） determined in the lakes studied were 2-3 times lower than in microbial mats of lakes located in tropical zones. This can be explained by the relatively short warm period that lasts only 3-4 months per year. The highest measured rate of dark CO2 assimilation （59.8 mg C/（L·d）） was much lower than photosynthesis. The highest rate of sulfate reduction was 60 mg S/（L·d）, while that of methanogenesis was 75.6 μL CH4/（L·d） in the alkaline lakes of Mongolian plateau. The rate of organic matter consumption during sulfate reduction was 3-4 orders of magnitude higher than that associated with methanogenesis.

This paper observes approaches to algebraic analysis of GOST 28147-89 encryption algorithm (also known as simply GOST), which is the basis of most secure information systems in Russia. The general idea of algebraic analysis is based on the representation of initial encryption algorithm as a system of multivariate quadratic equations, which define relations between a secret key and a cipher text. Extended linearization method is evaluated as a method for solving the nonlinear sys- tem of equations.

The calculation method of the location of the singular generalized current source according to synchronous measurements of the magnetic field in the remote points is proposed. It is designed for the continuous monitoring of changes of the degree of electromagnetic heterogeneity of the geophysical environment. Regular fluctuations of the apparent distance to the effective single source were recorded according to the magnetic data of the observatories in Japan 2009-2011. They are connected with the rhythm of the geodynamic processes in the vicinity of the station Kakioka. The most significant decrease in the apparent distance was registered in connection with the seismic activation of the region, including the catastrophic earthquake of March 11, 2011 with a magnitude of M = 9.1. The anomalous behavior of the apparent parameters of the generalized source was displayed not less than two weeks before the earthquake. Characteristic changes of the curves were registered in the period of three months.

Generalized geothermal data was used to produce two electronic atlases for Asian Russia,Geothermal Atlas of Siberia（GAS）（1995-2000） and Geothermal Atlas for Siberia and Russian Far East（GASRFE）（2009-2012）.The atlases include heat flow maps,temperatures at depths of 0.5,1,2,3,5 km and lower boundary of *** values of parameters are presented as isolines（GAS） and symbols（GASRFE）.GAS website is located at the Trofimuk Institute（***/ru/institute/structure/geophysics/natural-fields）.GASRFE provides the most complete geothermal data on Asian Russia,which has been growing for the last 50 years,and is published on the Internet at http：//***/*** this atlas,data about the depth of permafrost lower boundary（＂zero＂ isotherm） are presented for the first time.

Thermochemistry of Heteroatomic Compounds: the Heats of Combustion and Formation of Glycoside and Adenosine Phosphates

The heats of combustion of 4th glycoside in the condensed state with the use of the equation ΔcombH=15.7-117.2(N-g) , in which N is a number bond-forming (valence) electrons less the number (g) of lone electron pairs of nitrogen (g = 1) and oxygen (g = 2), have been determined. Such dependence is deduced previously joint for the description of the combustion enthalpies of 17 simple ethers of a cyclic structure and different sugars. The heats of formation ( ΔfHo ) of the mentioned above glycosides were calculated according to the Hess law via two ways: 1) through the use their heats of hydrolysis ( ΔhydrH ), which have been investigated earlier experimentally, 2) with the use the calculated the heats of combustion. The last procedure has been used also for the calculation of the heats of formation of the adenosine tri(ATP)-, di(ADP)- and mono(AMP)phosphates because of such thermochemical parameter is often hard achieved experimentally. The heats of hydrolysis ( ΔfH°hydr ) of ATP into ADP and ADP into AMP were calculated on the basis of their heats of formation in water ( ΔfH°aq ). The free energies of the same process ( ΔhydrG ) were known in literature. Last circumstance give us a possibility to calculate the hydrolysis entropies ( ΔhydrS ) using the Gibbs equation. The entropy values are a large negative, that pointed on the preliminary complex formation between adenosine phosphates and water before the breaking of P-O bonds or P-O-C fragments in its.
