TGF-betas are pleiotropic growth factors with important roles in normal homeostasis and complex roles in tumorigenesis. In general TGF-betas function as tumor suppressors early in the tumorigenic process and as pro-metastatic factors later. Metastasis-promoting activities include the enhancement of invasion and migration, the promotion of angiogenesis, and the suppression of immune surveillance. Overexpression of TGF-beta in many advanced human tumors correlates with metastasis and poor prognosis, and there is considerable interest in developing TGF-beta antagonists for cancer therapy. However, the complexity of TGF-beta action, involving the context-dependent interplay of many cellular targets, means that preclinical animal models are critical for evaluating such agents.

Learning the imaging mechanism directly from optical microscopy observations

The optical microscopy image plays an important role in scientific research through the direct visualization of the nanoworld,where the imaging mechanism is described as the convolution of the point spread function(PSF)and *** on a priori knowledge of the PSF or equivalent PSF,it is possible to achieve more precise exploration of the ***,it is an outstanding challenge to directly extract the PSF from microscopy ***,with the help of self-supervised learning,we propose a physics-informed masked autoencoder(PiMAE)that enables a learnable estimation of the PSF and emitters directly from the raw microscopy *** demonstrate our method in synthetic data and real-world experiments with significant accuracy and noise *** outperforms DeepSTORM and the Richardson–lucy algorithm in synthetic data tasks with an average improvement of 19.6%and 50.7%(35 tasks),respectively,as measured by the normalized root mean square error(NRMSE)*** is achieved without prior knowledge of the PSF,in contrast to the supervised approach used by DeepSTORM and the known PSF assumption in the Richardson–lucy *** method,PiMAE,provides a feasible scheme for achieving the hidden imaging mechanism in optical microscopy and has the potential to learn hidden mechanisms in many more systems.

Poverty-alleviation programs using solar energy(PAPSE)are poised to unlock unprecedented capital investments with significant potential to reconcile the energy–poverty–climate nexus.1 These programs are economically feasible because the costs of generating renewable energy have declined precipitously over the past decade;between 2010 and 2019,solar photovoltaiccosts decreased by 82%.Furthermore,the number of annual equivalent-use hours of sunlight in most countries exceeds 1200,meaning that PAPSE approaches are feasible in many places and can be undertaken independently from the power grid.

针对高分辨率遥感卫星在大幅宽成像时,由于扫描速度提高而导致遥感图像产生运动模糊的问题,提出用长积分时间模糊图像和短积分时间无模糊图像联合去除运动模糊,获得高信噪比无模糊图像的解决方案。该方案利用低信噪比清晰图像中的细节信息来进行模糊核的估计,通过带增益控制的残差RL去卷积算法,极大地减小了振铃效应的影响;通过引入联合双边滤波器算法,有效地复原了图像的细节信息。最后通过实验分析证明该方案的良好效果。
