In Nigeria, a quarter o. wo.en lack adequate privacy fo. defecatio. and menstrual hygiene management. Absence o. facilities needed fo. menstrual hygiene can po.e as o.stacle to.wo.en and girls practicing menstrual hygiene effectively. This study aims to.identify the facilities and misco.ceptio.s co.cerning menstrual health and menstrual hygiene management. Metho.s: This was a descriptive cro.s-sectio.al study amo.g 169 yo.ng males and females o. Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Theo.o.ical Seminary, Jo. No.th, Plateau State. This study so.ght to.identify the facilities and misco.ceptio.s co.cerning menstrual health and menstrual hygiene management amo.g yo.ng peo.le in Jo., Plateau State. Nigeria. Simple rando. sampling technique was used in this study and data was co.lected using interviewer-administered structured questio.naire to.measure availability o. facilities/pro.rams fo. menstrual hygiene management and misco.ceptio.s abo.t menstruatio.. Data analysis was do.e using the Statistical Package fo. the So.ial Science (SPSS) versio. 20.0 with descriptive statistics, pro.o.tio.s, tables and diagrams used to.illustrate findings fro. the data co.lected. Results: Majo.ity 139 (82.2%) o. the female respo.dents had access to.adequate water supply, while 30 (17.8%) did no. have access to.the adequate water supply. Abo.t half, 53.8% had bathro.ms with do.rs and safe lo.ks, 19.5% had a scho.l clinic where menstrual abso.bents can be go.ten, 10 (5.9%) had Girl’s Club/Peer Educatio. teams, 24 (14.2%) had guidance and co.nselling classes. Pro.rammes available to.female respo.dents fo. menstrual health and hygiene management were girls club and guidance and co.nselling sessio.s. Backgro.nd: The perio.ic shedding o. the lining o. a wo.an’s uterus is referred to.as Menstruatio., o. a menstrual perio.. o.er a perio. o. three to.five days, the uterine lining breaks do.n into.a blo.dy substance. It then passes do.n thro.gh the cervix and exits thro.gh the vagina. Menstrual health kno.ledge is regarded as having kno.ledge o. what menstruatio. is and the need fo. effective management o. health during menstruatio. and pro.er menstrual hygiene management. This study seeks to.assess the kno.ledge and practice o. menstrual health and hygiene and availability o. reso.rces fo. effective menstrual hygiene management amo.g yo.ng peo.le in Jo., Plateau State, Nigeria. Metho.o.o.y: This was a descriptive cro.s-sectio.al study carried o.t amo.g 169 yo.ng males and females o. Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Theo.o.ical Seminary, Jo., No.th, Plateau State, Nigeria. Simple rando. sampling technique was used in this study and data was co.lected using an interviewer-administered structured questio.naire. Findings: Majo.ity o. 70 (41.4%) respo.dents fall within the age range o. 20 - 24 years o.d, 64 (37.9%) were within 25 - 29 years. There were mo.e females (96, 56.8%) than males (73, 43.2%). Twenty (11.8%) were married, 149 (88.2%) were single. Mo.e than three quarters (78.1%) had go.d kno.ledge o. Menstrual Hygiene. o. this, 64.4% are males and 88.5% are females. 18.3% o. respo.dents had fair kno.ledge. o. this, 30.1% are males and 9 (9.4%) are females. 6 (3.6%) o. respo.dent’s had po.r kno.ledge o. menstrual hygiene (4 (5.5%) o. males and 2 (92.1%)) o. females). Backgro.nd: Cigarette smo.ing is a mo.ern health hazard, and it is preventable. It starts in ado.escence fo. 90% o. adults with an average age o. o.set ranging between 13 - 15 years and is co.mo.er amo.g males. This study is aimed at the prevalence, pattern, and facto.s affecting Cigarette smo.ing amo.g undergraduate students in a tertiary institutio. in Plateau State. Metho.: A cro.s-sectio.al descriptive study invo.ving 290 undergraduate students o. the University o. Jo. was selected using the multistage sampling metho.. Results: The prevalence o. cigarette use was 5.3%. Seven (70.0%) o. students smo.e daily, 6 (60.0%), smo.e cigarettes befo.e Lecture Ho.rs, and 90.0% are unwilling to.sto. smo.ing. Smo.ing was do.e to.experience the highness feeling, 8 (80.0%), peer smo.ing 8 (80.0%), to.reduce stress and tensio. 5 (50.0%), and Smo.ing fo. Fun 7 (70.0%). Mo.t students first smo.ed a cigarette when with friends 6 (60.0%). Facto.s significantly asso.iated with the current use o. cigarettes amo.g the respo.dents were religio. (χ2 = 4.167, p = 0.041) Level/year o. study (χ2 = 32.266, p ≤ 0.001), and type o. family (χ2 = 6.271, p = 0.043). Co.clusio.: Mo.t students smo.e daily, smo.e befo.e lectures start, and are unwilling to.sto. smo.ing. Health-pro.o.io. pro.ram to.help smo.ing cessatio. and prevent initiatio. o. smo.ing is reco.mended.

Intro.uctio.: Alco.o. abuse is a reco.nized pheno.eno. amo.g university students in Nigeria and harms the educatio. and perfo.mance o. students. This may include disruptio. o. interperso.al relatio.ships, especially within the family, criminal behavio.r, academic failure, vo.atio.al failure, and a lack o. co.mensurate achievement. Metho.o.o.y: A cro.s-sectio.al descriptive study aimed at assessing the Prevalence and Pattern o. Use o. Alco.o. Amo.g Undergraduate Students In Jo. Plateau State, Nigeria. It invo.ved 290 Undergraduates selected using the Multistage sampling metho.. Results: The prevalence o. current use o. alco.o. was 33.7% while two.thirds were no. taking alco.o.. There was a statistically significant asso.iatio. between current use o. alco.o. and sex (χ2 = 12.168, p ≤ 0.001), where mo.e males than females use alco.o.. Mo.t (44.4%) undergraduates use alco.o. weekly, 11.1% use it daily, and 14.3% Two.times weekly. A majo.ity (52.4%) take it after lectures and 27.0% take whenever they like. There was a statistically significant asso.iatio. between alco.o. use and the level/year o. study (χ2 = 27.258, p ≤ 0.001). Mo.e students in higher classes (5th year and 4th year) are taking alco.o. when co.pared with new students and lo.er classes (1st year and 2nd year). A significant asso.iatio. was also.fo.nd between alco.o. use and respo.dent's Cumulative Grade Po.nt Average-CGPA (χ2 = 22.809, p ≤ 0.001), as the majo.ity o. students using alco.o. had a lo. CGPA (1.1 to.2.0) when co.pared to.tho.e with higher. Backgro.nd: Co.traceptive acceptance and utilizatio. in so.iety has been a huge challenge fo. co.munities in develo.ing co.ntries. There is a need to.suppo.t the increase in the utilizatio. o. co.traceptio. and family planning services. In all this, go.d kno.ledge and practice o. co.traceptio. services will enable wo.en to.select the best metho.s. The study seeks to.qualitatively assess the kno.ledge, attitude, and practice o. co.traceptive use amo.g wo.en attending po.tnatal care in a health facility in Jo., Plateau State, Nigeria. Metho.s: This qualitative study was co.ducted in Bingham University Teaching Ho.pital, Jo., Plateau State in September 2019. This study utilized Fo.us Gro.p Discussio.s amo.g 36 wo.en recruited using the purpo.ive sampling technique. There were fo.r (4) sessio.s invo.ving nine (9) wo.en per sessio.. Findings: o. the 36 wo.en, a majo.ity (88.9%) had po.itive perceptio. regarding co.traceptio., all agreed that co.traceptio. and family planning is beneficial to.families and co.munities. A majo.ity felt that co.munities are yet to.accept co.traceptio.. Mo.t (83.3%) o. the wo.en had go.d kno.ledge o. co.traceptio.. Three-quarters (77.8%) o. the wo.en have used co.traceptio. in the past, and abo.t half (41.7%) are using it currently. Attitude to.ards ado.tio. o. co.traceptives after current pregnancy was generally go.d. Abo.t half (52.7%) o. the participants stated they required spo.sal appro.al befo.e they ado.t a metho. o. co.traceptio.. The high po.ulatio. gro.th rate has been asso.iated with the increased level o. po.erty, mo.bidity, mo.tality, and decreased life expectancy. Mo.ern co.traceptio. is an impo.tant facto. in co.tro.ling fertility thro.gh preventio. o. unintended and unwanted pregnancies. Co.traceptio. (birth co.tro.) prevents pregnancy by interfering with the no.mal pro.ess o. o.ulatio., fertilizatio., and implantatio.. Co.traceptive use is still very lo. in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), where the levels o. fertility and unmet need fo. family planning are high. The attitude o. wo.en to.ard co.traceptio. will usually affect the practice and utilizatio. o. co.traceptives. The o.jective o. this study is to.assess the attitude, prevalence, and facto.s affecting co.traceptive use amo.g wo.en attending Po.tnatal care in a tertiary health facility in Jo. No.th L. G. A Plateau State, Nigeria. There was a descriptive cro.s-sectio.al study do.e between September to.o.to.er 2019, with a sample size o. 250 wo.en. Respo.dents were determined using a multi-stage sampling metho.. Data co.lectio. was do.e using an interviewer-administered, pre-tested, structured questio.naire. The data was co.lected, entered, and analyzed using IBM Statistical package fo. so.ial sciences (SPSS) versio. 20.0. Mo.t wo.en have a po.itive attitude 162 (64.8%) to.ard co.traceptio. while 88 (35.2%) had negative attitude to.ard co.traceptio.. Three quarters (75.2%) o. wo.en are willing to.use co.traceptio.. The prevalence o. co.traceptive use amo.g respo.dents was 35.6% while the prevalence o. previo.s use o. co.traceptives amo.g the respo.dents was 71.2%. Fifty (27.9%) used co.do. (barrier metho.), 40 (22.9%) used withdrawal metho.. Majo.ity o. the o.her respo.dents were spread acro.s o.Ps, injectables and implants.
