In this review,the possibilities of photochemical and electrochemical water splitting(WS)using porphyrins,phthalocyanines,related macrocycles,and their metal complexes are *** efforts are being carried out in order to develop novel and cheap methods for water decomposition to generate inexhaustible greener energy sources(molecular hydrogen)instead of oil and *** processes of WS in heterogeneous and homogeneous media require novel photo-and electrocatalysts,in particular those on macrocycle basis.A high WS efficiency has been observed for porphyrins and phthalocyanines,showing their suitability both for HER and OER processes are available using these relative compounds for WS *** can be used in photocatalytic and electrocatalytic WS processes both in their free forms or as metal porphyrins/porphyrinates,mainly loaded on various inorganic materials,such as Au NPs,C_(3)N_(4),GaP,KTaO_(3),GaP,and so on,as part of porphyrin-containing polymers or on electrode surface as modifying coatings,being sometimes better than commercial catalysts,such as Pt/*** H2 evolution can be considerably depended on the shape of porphyrin particles;in particular,porphyrin nanowires can yield up to 20 times more H2 than its *** certain cases,both HER and OER can be driven in the same electrolyte using metal *** capacity of metal porphyrins to generate ROS(in particular,singlet oxygen 1O_(2))under ultrasonic treatment is known and can be successfully used for H_(2)O_(2) and O_(2) *** can be used in similar processes in free form or as composites with inorganic or organic counterparts,being immobilized on nanocarbons,metal oxides and salts,or simply dissolved in water acting in a homogeneous *** additional use of ultrasound can lead to better results due to the synergistic effect of the sonochemical treatment and ***-organic frameworks are also applied for WS purposes and are mainly based

Background Despite the increasing focus on strengthening One Health capacity building on global level, challenges remain in devising and implementing real-world interventions particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Recognizing these gaps, the One Health Action Commission (OHAC) was established as an academic community for One Health action with an emphasis on research agenda setting to identify actions for highest *** text This viewpoint describes the agenda of, and motivation for, the recently formed OHAC. Background Patient and health system costs for treating multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (mDR-TB) remain high even after treatment duration was shortened. many patients do not finish treatment, contributing to increased transmission and antimicrobial resistance. A restructure of health services, that is more patient-centred has the potential to reduce costs and increase trust and patient satisfaction. The aim of the study is to investigate how costs would change in the delivery of mDR-TB care in Ethiopia under patient-centred and hybrid approaches compared to the current *** We used published data, collected from 2017 to 2020 as part of the Standard Treatment Regimen of Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs for Patients with mDR-TB (STREAm) trial, to populate a discrete event simulation (DES) model. The model was developed to represent the key characteristics of patients’ clinical pathways following each of the three treatment delivery strategies. To the pathways of 1000 patients generated by the DES model we applied relevant patient cost data derived from the STREAm trial. Costs are calculated for treating patients using a 9-month mDR-TB treatment and are presented in 2021 United States dollars (USD).Results The patient-centred and hybrid strategies are less costly than the standard-of-care, from both a health system (by USD 219 for patient-centred and USD 276 for the hybrid strategy) and patient perspective when patients do not have a guardian (by USD 389 for patient-centred and USD 152 for the hybrid strategy). Changes in indirect costs, staff costs, transport costs, inpatient stay costs or changes in directly-observed-treatment frequency or hospitalisation duration for standard-of-care did not change our *** Our findings show that patient-centred and hybrid strategies for delivering mDR-TB treatment cost less than standard-of-care and provide critical evidence that there is scope for such strategies to be implemented in routine care. Tropical cyclones are devastating hazards and have been a major problem for the coastal population of B *** the advancements in atmospheric and oceanic prediction,accurate forecasting of storm surges is of specific interest due to their great potential to inflict loss of life and *** decades,the numerical model based storm surge prediction systems have been an important tool to reduce the loss of human lives and property *** order to improve the accuracy in predicting storm surge and coastal inundation,recent model development efforts tended to include more modeling components,such as meteorology model and surface wave model in storm surge *** this study,we used the outputs of an atmospheric model to force the ocean model for simulating storm surges in the Bay of Bengal with particular focus on the Bangladesh *** ability of the modeling system was investigated simulating water levels in the Bangladesh coast of two tropical cyclones Sidr(2007)and Aila(2009).The effectiveness of the model was verified through comparing the obtained computational outputs against tide gauge *** cyclone tracks and intensities reproduced by the atmospheric model were reasonable,though the model had a tendency to overestimate the cyclone intensity during peaks and also close to *** water levels are reproduced fairly well by the ocean model,although errors still *** root mean square errors in water level at different gauges range from 0.277 to 0.419 m with coefficient of correlation(R^2)between 0.64 and 0.97 in case of Sidr and0.209-0.581 m with R^20.62 to 0.98 for *** overall coupled modeling system is found to be useful with reasonable accuracy and precision,though there are spaces for ***-resolution modeling approaches are recommended to gain more skills.

Predicting disruptions to drug pharmacokinetics and the risk of adverse drug reactions in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis patients

The liver plays a central role in the pharmacokinetics of drugs through drug metabolizing enzymes and ***-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH)causes disease-specific alterations to the absorption,distribution,metabolism,and excretion(ADmE)processes,including a decrease in protein expression of basolateral uptake transporters,an increase in efflux transporters,and modifications to enzyme *** can result in increased drug exposure and adverse drug reactions(ADRs).Our goal was to predict drugs that pose increased risks for ADRs in NASH *** research identified 71 drugs with reported ADRs in patients with liver disease,mainly non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),54 of which are known substrates of transporters and/or metabolizing *** NASH is the progressive form of NAFLD but is most frequently undiagnosed,we identified other drugs at risk based on NASH-specific alterations to ADmE ***,we present another list of 71 drugs at risk of pharmacokinetic disruption in NASH,based on their transport and/or metabolism *** encompasses drugs from various pharmacological classes for which ADRs may occur when used in NASH patients,especially when eliminated through multiple pathways altered by the ***,these results may inform clinicians regarding the selection of drugs for use in NASH patients.
