NBFTP: a dedicated data transfer system for remote astronomical observation at Dome A

Dome A,Antarctica,has been thought to be one of the best astronomical sites on the Earth for *** it was first visited by astronomers in 2008,dozens of facilities for astronomical observation and site testing were *** to its special geographical location,the data and message exchange between Dome A and the domestic control center could only depend on *** the link bandwidth of Iridium is extremely limited,the network traffic cost is quite expensive and the network is rather unstable,the commonly used data transfer tools,such as rsync and scp,are not suitable in this *** this paper,we design and implement a data transfer tool called NBFTP(narrow bandwidth file transfer protocol)for the astronomical observation of Dome *** uses a uniform interface to arrange all types of data and matches specific transmission schemes for different data types according to ***-point resuming and extensibility functions are also *** experimental results show that NBFTP consumes 60%less network traffic than rsync when detecting the data pending to be *** transferring small files of 1 KB,the network traffic consumption of NBFTP is 40%less than ***,as the file size increases,the network traffic consumption of NBFTP tends to approach rsync,but it is still smaller than rsync.

Efficient cell migration is crucial for the functioning of biological processes, e.g., morphogenesis, wound healing, and cancer metastasis. In this study, we monitor the migratory behavior of the 3D fibroblast clusters using live cell microscopy,and find that crowded environment affects cell migration, i.e., crowding leads to directional migration at the cluster’s periphery. The number of cell layers being stacked during seeding determines the directional-to-random transition. Intriguingly,the migratory behavior of cell clusters resembles the dispersion dynamics of clouds of passive particles, indicating that the biological process is driven by physical effects(e.g., entropy) rather than cell communication. Our findings highlight the role of intrinsic physical characteristics, such as crowding, in regulating biological behavior, and suggest new therapeutic approaches targeting at cancer metastasis.

The rare earth based hydrogen storage alloys MmxM1 1 - x ( Ni3.55 Co0.75 Mn0.4 A10.3 ) ( x = 0 ～ 0.5 ) were investigated in this *** Ml: Mm ratio to change the content of La,ce,Pr and Nd in the alloys and then to change the phase structure, the influences of phase structure on the electr.chemical properties were *** results indicate that the main phase of all alloys is LaNi5 with CaCu5 type structure and the crystal lattices constants of LaNi5 are changed with increasing x value, i.e, decreased a-axis, increased c-axis and axis ratio and nonlinear decreased crystal *** crystal volume of the alloy with x = 0.3 is larger than *** is second phase A1LaNi4 in alloys when x≥0.3, which decrease the discharge capacity, but increase the cycling stability and high rate discharge *** comprehensively, the alloy with x = 0.3 shows the higher discharge capacity and the better cycling stability.

Fatigue failure is a main failure mode for magnesium and other alloys. It is beneficial for fatigue design and fatigue life improvement to investigate the low cycle fatigue behavior of magnesium alloys. In order to investigate the low cycle fatigue behavior of die cast Mg-AI-Mn-ce magnesium alloy, the strain controlled fatigue experiments were performed at room temperature and fatigue fracture surfaces of specimens were observed with scanning election microscopy for the alloys under die-cast and aged states. Cyclic stress response curves, strain amplitude versus reversals to failure curve, total strain amplitude versus fatigue life curves and cyclic stress-strain curves of Mg-AI-Mn-ce alloys were analyzed. The results show that the Mg-AI-Mn-ce alloys under die-cast （F） and aged （T5） states exhibit cyclic strain hardening under the applied total strain amplitudes, and aging treatment could greatly increase the cyclic stress amplitudes of die cast Mg-AI-Mn-ce alloys. The relationships between the plastic strain amplitude, the elastic strain amplitude and reversals to failure of Mg-AI-Mn-ce magnesium alloy under different treatment states could be described by Coffin-Manson and Basquin equations, respectively. Observations on the fatigue fracture surface of specimens reveal that the fatigue cracks initiate on the surface of specimens and propagate transgranularly.

Thermally grown oxides(TGOs)at the ceramic top-coat/metallic bond-coat interface are a pressing chal-lenge in advanced thermal barrier coating(TBC)systems as they can affect the performance and ser-vice lifetime of ***,developing novel TBC materials with ultralow oxygen ion diffusivity is very *** this study,we reported the diffusive properties of oxygen ions in a novel pyrochlore-type La_(2)(Zr_(0.7)ce_(0.3))_(2)O_(7)(LZ7C3)*** measured ionic conductivity and atomistic simulation revealed that the oxygen ion diffusivity in LZ7C3 grains is two orders of magnitude lower than that in conventional 8 wt.%yttria-stabilized zirconia(8YSZ)*** is due to the relatively high energy barrier for oxygen hopping in *** addition,it was found that enhancing the order distribution of cations is a strategy to reduce the intrinsic oxygen diffusion of pyrochlore-type *** the other hand,we observed that La^(3+) cations segregate at the grain boundaries(GBs)of LZ7C3,which results in the electrostatic poten-tial at GBs being comparable to that in the ***,we found that the oxygen ion diffusion is facilitated at the GBs of LZ7C3 due to the stretched O-Zr/ce bond and the low coordination at ***-ever,the segregations of Y^(3+)cations and the increase in the number of oxygen vacancies resulted in the formation of an electrostatic layer at the GBs of 8YSZ,which shielded the oxygen ion *** this,the oxygen ion diffusivity in LZ7C3 was still considerably less than that in conventional *** study offers a stepping stone toward utilizing pyrochlore-type LZ7C3 materials as advanced TBCs at high temperatures.

In addition to non-radiative guided modes, two-dimensional photonic-crystal slabs support guided resonant ones which can radiate into free space. From the polarization states of these guided resonances, a polarization field on a photonic band can be constructed in momentum space. Momentum-space polarization fields display complicated configurations and patterns with different types of polarization singularities inside, shedding new light on the manipulations of light *** this review, we summarize the recent research progress on momentum-space polarization fields and singularities in two-dimensional photonic-crystal slabs, focusing on their unique optical properties and potential applications as well.

To improve the burial flux calculations of bioavailable phosphorus （P） and study opal-associated P （Opal-P） in the East China Sea （ECS）, surface and core sediments were collected in the Changjiang Estuary （ce） and the south of the cheju Island. In this study, sedimentary P was operationally divided into seven different forms using modified sedimentary extraction （SEDEX） technique： LSor-P （exchangeable or loosely sorbed P）, Fe-P （easily reducible or reactive ferric Fe-bound P）, CFA-P （authigenic carbonate fluorapatite and biogenic apatite and CaCO3-bound P）, Detr-P （detrital apatite）, Org-P （organic P）, Opal-P and ref-P （refractory P）. The data revealed that the concentrations of the seven different P forms rank as Detr-P 〉 CFA-P 〉 Org-P 〉 ref-P 〉 Opal-P 〉 Fe-P 〉 LSor-P in surface sediments and CFA-P 〉 Detr-P 〉 Org-P 〉 ref-P 〉 Fe-P 〉 Opal-P 〉 LSor-P in core sediments. The distributions of the total phosphorus （TP）, TIP, CFA-P, Detr-P are similar and decrease from the ce to the south of the cheju Island. Meanwhile, Org-P and Opal-P exhibit different distribution trends; this may be affected by the grain size and TOM. The concentrations of potentially bioavailable P are 9.6-13.0 μmol g^-1 and 10.0-13.6 μmol g^-1, representing 61%-70% and 41%？64% of the TP in surface and core sediments, respectively. The concentrations of Opal-P are 0.6-2.3 μmol g^-1 and 0.6-1.4 μmol g^-1 in surface and core sediments, ac-counting for 5.3%？19.8% and 4.2%？10.6% of bioavailable P, respectively. The total burial fluxes of Opal-P and bioavailable P are 1.4×10^9 mol y^-1 and 1.1×10^10 mol yr^-1 in the ECS, respectively. Opal-P represents about 12.7% of potentially bioavailable P, which should be recognized when studying P cycling in marine ecosystems.
