SAPO-34 is one of the main catalysts used in the petrochemical industry. Various effective methods have been developed to synthesize SAPO-34 with optimal size and characteristics for such application, In the present study, SAPO-34 was synthesized using a dry gel method at high temperatures. Morpholine was used as an organic template. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction, field-emission scan- ning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and gas sorption analysis, The results showed that application of the dry gel method at high temperatures successfully afforded a pure catalyst with high crystallinity, Small particles of less than 500 nm could be obtained within a short reaction time of 30 min.

The presence of toxic dyes in the aqueous medium has threatened environmental safety, and thereby re- moving them from wastewater in an efficient way is highly desired. Herein, the efficient biosorbents were successfully fabricated via a facile physical gelation process of sodium alginate (SA) and carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCTS) in an acidic aqueous solution. The as-prepared hydrogel beads not only displayed water superabsorbent properties and pH-responsive swelling characters but also exhibited excellent methylene blue (MB) adsorption capacity removal efficiency with experimental maximum MB adsorption capacity of 2518 and 1005 mg g -1 , which are comparable with most reported lignocellulosic and alginate-based hydrogels. The MB adsorption process fitted well in different kinetic and isotherm models and became more heterogeneous in concentrated MB solutions as verified by principal component analysis results. The adsorption mechanism was proposed, and the high dye absorbency was attributed to the strong electro- static forces between adsorbents and adsorbates. Our current study provides a promising and sustainable composite hydrogels platform targeted to dye decontamination.

We study the SchrSdinger equation （q -￡）u ＋μu = f, where ￡ is the generator of a Borel right process and μ is a signed measure on the state space. We prove the existence and uniqueness results in Lp, 1 ≤p 〈∞ . Since we consider measures μcharging no polar set, we have to use new tools： the Revuz formula with fine versions and the appropriate Revuz correspondence, the perturbation （subordination） operators （in the sense of G Mokobodzki） induced by the regular strongly supermedian kernels. We extend the results on the SchrSdinger equation to the case of a strongly continuous sub-Markovian resolvent of contractions on Lp. If the measure μ is positive then the perturbed process solves the martingale problem for ￡- μ and its transition semigroup is given by the Feynman-Kac formula associated with the left continuous additive functional having μ as Revuz measure.

The metabolic syndrome and visceral obesity have anincreasing prevalence and incidence in the generalpopulation. The actual prevalence of the metabolicsyndrome is 24% in US population and between24.6% and 30.9% in Europe. As demonstrated by many clinical trials (NAHANES , INTERHART) the metabolic syndrome is associated with an increased risk of both diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In addition to cardiovascular disease, individual components of the metabolic syndrome have been linked to the development of cancer, particularly to colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is an important public health problem; in the year 2000 there was an estimated total of 944 717 incident cases of colorectal cancer diagnosed world-wide. This association is sustained by many epidemiological studies. Recent reports suggest that individuals with metabolic syndrome have a higher risk of colon or rectal cancer. Moreover, the clusters of metabolic syndrome components increase the risk of associated cancer. The physiopathological mechanism that links metabolic syndrome and colorectal cancer is mostly related to abdominal obesity and insulin resistance. Population and experimental studies demonstrated that hyperinsulinemia, elevated C-peptide, elevated body mass index, high levels of insulin growth factor-1, low levels of insulin growth factor binding protein-3, high leptin levels and low adiponectin levels are all involved in carcinogenesis. Understanding the pathological mechanism that links metabolic syndrome and its components to carcinogenesis has a major clinical signifi cance and may have profound health benefi ts on a number of diseases including cancer, which represents a major cause of mortality and morbidity in our societies.

Classification of Soil Types Using Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis and Random Forests

There is increasing interest in developing automatic procedures to segment landscapes into soil spatial entities that replace conventional, expensive manual procedures for delineating and classifying soils. Geographic object-based image analysis(GEOBIA)partitions remote sensing imagery or digital elevation models into homogeneous image objects based on image segmentation. We used an object-based methodology for the detailed delineation and classification of soil types using digital maps of topography and vegetation as soil covariates, based on the Random Forests(RF) classifier. We compared the object-based method's results with those of a pixel-based classification using the same classifier. We used 18 digital elevation model derivatives and 5 remote sensing indices that were related to vegetation cover and soil. Using 171 soil profiles with their associated environmental variable values,the RF method was used to identify the most important soil type predictors for use in the segmentation process. A stack of rastergeodatasets corresponding to the selected predictors was segmented using a multi-resolution segmentation algorithm, which resulted in homogeneous objects related to soil types. These objects were further classified as soil types using the same method, RF. We also conducted a pixel-based classification using the same classifier and soil profiles, and the resulting maps were assessed in terms of their accuracy using 30% of the soil profiles for validation. We found that GEOBIA was an effective method for soil type mapping, and was superior to the pixel-based approach. The optimized object-based soil map had an overall accuracy of 58%, which was 10% higher than that of the optimized pixel-based map.

We consider the generalized flocking problem in multiagent systems, where the agents must drive a subset of their state variables to common values, while communication is constrained by a proximity relationship in terms of another subset of variables. We build a flocking method for general nonlinear agent dynamics, by using at each agent a near-optimal control technique from artificial intelligence called optimistic planning. By defining the rewards to be optimized in a well-chosen way, the preservation of the interconnection topology is guaranteed, under a controllability assumption. We also give a practical variant of the algorithm that does not require to know the details of this assumption, and show that it works well in experiments on nonlinear agents.

In this paper we tried to present a qualitative correlation,based on extensive experimental determinations between the value and the evolution of the friction coefficient,wear,and contact temperature,in the case of linear dry contact,for thermoplastic material reinforced with short glass fibers(SGF)and various steel *** aim was to highlight the evolution of the wear process depending on the evolution of the friction *** a result,it was possible to graphically illustrate the evolution of the friction coefficient and the change of the wear process,emphasizing the abrasive,adhesive and corrosive *** evolution of the plastic material transfer function of the contact temperature,namely of the power lost by friction(product between the contact pressure and sliding speed,p and v)was aimed and it was *** has been demonstrated that in the case of a 30%SGF content it can reach and even exceed contact temperatures very close to the flow limit of the plastic *** tried,believing successfully,the graphic illustration of the evolution of the steel surface wear and of the contact temperature,depending on the friction *** influence of the normal load and sliding speed was evaluated in detail,but also the influence of the metallic surface roughness on the friction coefficient was discussed.
