Tumor neoangiogenesis detection by confocal laser endomicroscopy and anti-CD105 antibody:Pilot study

Thermal Analysis of Glycopolymers Obtained by Copolymerization of a New D-Glucose Oligomer with 2-Hydroxy-Propyl Acrylate

Polymers become more important in everyday life. Although extremely useful in their life cycle, polymers become long-term pollutants. Worldwide, along the increased research in the environmental field, one can obviously observe a keen interest into new biodegradable and biocompatible plastic materials. A new D-glucose based oligomer was synthesized by the polycondensation of 3-O-benzyl-5,6-bis-O-(carboxyacryloyl)- 1,2-O-isopropylidene-D-glucofuranose with propane-1,3-diol, in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst. The oligomer has a molar weight of about 4,600 Da, thus, in order to obtain competitive plastic materials, it was copolymerized with 2-hydroxy-propyl acrylate. The copolymerization process was investigated by DSC analysis using different heating rates, which allowed calculating the activation energy. The glycopolymers obtained by bulk polymerization using benzoyl peroxide as initiator were analyzed by TGA and their mechanical properties were studied using DMA.
