Light fl ux and quality are crucial factor for setting endogenous plant circadian *** the daily rhythmicity of leaf chlorophyll content is an eff ective method to monitor the plant physiological endogenous clock in response to environmental signals such as light availability/***,we used a leaf-clip sensor to monitor diurnal rhythms in the content of chlorophyll and fl avonoids such as fl avonols and anthocyanins in three green-(Ailanthus altissima,Tilia platyphyllos and Platanus×acerifolia)and two red-leafed(Acer platanoides *** King and Prunus cerasifera ***)tree species,adapted to sun(L)or shade(S).Signifi cant diff erences in chlorophyll content(Chl)and its variations during the day were observed among treatments in all the analyzed species.S-plants had more Chl than L-plants irrespective of leaf color,and Chl variations were more distinct during the day than in *** particular,contents were lowest in the morning(9:00)and in the middle of the day(at 12:00 and 15:00),and the highest at dusk(21:00).The less evident trends in Chl variation in L-plants were attributed to a decrease in Chl content in high light,which likely masked any increases in the shaded counterparts during the *** fl avonol levels did not vary no notably during the *** sun-exposed red leaves,anthocyanins partially screened mesophyll cells from incident light,and its levels were similar to the Chl dynamics in the shaded *** study provides new bases for further work on endogenous rhythms of plant pigments and improves our understanding of plant physiology in the context of day/night rhythmicity.

AIm： To analyze and compare five different variables over one year follow-up（1 wk, 1, 3, 6 and 12 mo）： anterior capsule（AC）, and posterior capsule（PC） area densitometry values, AC and PC linear densitometry values, and AC opening area reduction ratio after femtosecond laserassisted cataract surgery. mETHODS： This was a prospective comparative study. Seventy-one patients underwent femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery on single eye between June 2014 and December 2015. A 5.0 mm diameter laser assisted anterior capsulotomy was performed on all eyes. In every postsurgery evaluation, AC opacificaction（ACO） and PC opacification（PCO） density levels were provided by Oculus Pentacam·HR using area and linear densitometry methods. Digital images were captured with a slit-lamp Topcon photographic camera and ImAGEnet· 5 software. The AC opening area on the digital images was measured using the Sketchandcalc area calculator and converted to reduction ratio ***： Using Pearson correlation coefficient（PCC）, we found no correlation（r=-0.091, P=0.46） in the twelfth month assessment between the evolution of ACO area densitometry values and PCO area densitometry values considered as independent variables. We found no correlation, using PCC（r=-0.096, P=0.43） between the evolution of ACO linear densitometry values and PCO linear densitometry values, in the twelfth month visit, working both as independent variables. AC linear densitometry levels and AC area densitometry levels continued to grow strongly from sixth to twelfth months. Analysis of the values of AC opening area reduction ratio（1 wk, 1, 3, 6, 12 mo） revealed statistically significant differences between the values of successive examinations but the magnitude of the change decreased. The fungus-growing ants （Tribe Attini） are a New World group of〉 200 species, all obligate symbionts with a fungus they use for food. Four attine taxa are known to be social parasites of other attines. Acromyrmex （ Pseudoatta） argentina argentina and Acromyrmex （Pseudoatta） argentina platensis （parasites of Acromyrmex lundi）, and Acromyrmex sp. （a parasite of Acromyrmex rugosus） produce no worker caste. In contrast, the recently discovered Acromyrmex insinuator （a parasite of Acromyrmex echinatior） does produce workers. Here, we describe a new species, Acromyrmex ameliae, a social parasite of Acromyrmex subterraneus subterraneus and Acromyrmex subterraneus brunneus in minas Gerais, Brasil. Like A. insinuator, it produces workers and appears to be closely related to its hosts. Similar social parasites may be fairly common in the fungus-growing ants, but overlooked due to the close resemblance between parasite and host workers.

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is emerging as the most common chronic liver disease, and is characterized by a wide spectrum of fat-liver disorders that can result in severe liver disease and cirrhosis. Inflammation and oxidative stress are the major risk factors involved in the pathogenesis of NAFLD. Currently, there is no consensus concerning the pharmacological treatment of NAFLD. However, lifestyle interventions based on exercise and a balanced diet for quality and quantity, are considered the cornerstone of NAFLD management. mediterranean diet(mD), rich in polyunsaturated fats, polyphenols, vitamins and carotenoids, with their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, has been suggested to be effective in preventing cardiovascular risk factors. In adults, mD has also been demonstrated to be efficacious in reducing the risk of metabolic syndrome. However, few studies are available on the effects of the mD in both adult and pediatric subjects with NAFLD. Thus, the aims of the present narrative review are to analyze the current clinical evidence on the impact of mD in patients with NAFLD, and to summarize the main mechanisms of action of mD components on this condition.

Objective:To determine an algorithm for molecular diagnosis of visceral leishmaniasis(VL)by kinetoplast DNA(kDNA)(RV1/RV2)and internal transcriber spacer(ITS1)(LITSR/L5.8 S)polymerase chain reaction(PCR),complemented by ITS 1 PCR restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP),using peripheral blood or bone marrow aspirate from patients with suspected ***:Biological samples were submitted to the gold standard for the diagnosis of VL and molecular diagnosis represented by ITS 1 PCR,kDNA PCR,and ITS 1 PCR *** samples were obtained from seven groups:groupⅠ,82 samples from patients with confirmed VL;groupⅡ,16 samples from patients under treatment for VL;groupⅢ,14 samples from dogs with canine visceral leishmaniasis(CVL);groupⅣ,a pool of six experimentally infected sandflies(Lutzomya longipalpis);group V,18 samples from patients with confirmed tegumentary leishmaniasis(TL)and groupsⅥandⅦwere from control groups without ***:The following gold standard and molecular examination results were obtained for each of the seven groups:groupⅠ:parasitologic and immunochromatographic tests showed a sensitivity of 76.3%(61 of 80)and 68.8%(55 of 80),respectively,and a sensitivity of 97.6%(80 of 82)and 92.7%(76 of 82)by ITS1 and kDNA PCR,*** ITS1 PCR RFLP(HaeⅢ)analysis of the 80 positive samples,52.5%(42 of 80)generated three fragments of 180,70,and 50 bp,corresponding to the pattern of Leishmania infantum infantum;groupⅡ:negative for the parasitologic methods and positive for IrK39(100%,16 of 16),presented 12.5%(2 of 16)of positivity by ITS 1 PCR and 25.0%(4 of 16)by kDNA PCR;groupⅢ:positive in the parasitologic and serologic tests(100%,14 of 14),presented 85.7%(12 of 14)of positivity by ITS1 PCR and kDNA ***1 PCR RFLP showed that 83.3%(10 of 12)of the canine samples contained parasites with profiles similar to ***;groupⅣpresented amplifications by ITS1 PCR and kDNA ***1 PCR products were analyzed by RFLP,generating a profile similar to

Kinetics of Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization of methyl methacrylate Initiated by Cellulose Chloroacetate in BmImCI

The kinetics of atom transfer radical polymerization（ATRP） of methyl methacrylate（mmA） initiated by cellulose based macroinitator, cellulose chloroacetate, performed in ionic liquid（1-N-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride, BmImC1）, dimethyl sulfoxide（DmSO） and dimethyl formamide（DmF） were respectively studied in detail. The polymerizations were carried out under homogeneous conditions with CuBr as catalyst and 2,2＇-bipyridine（bpy） as ligand. The dependences of the rate of polymerization on solvent, temperature, monomer/initiator ratio and catalyst/ligand ratio were presented. Plots of ln（[m]0/[m]t） vs. time and molecular weight vs. conversion showed a linear dependence, indicating a constant number of propagating species throughout the polymerization as well as a negligible contribution of termination or transfer reactions. On the basis of an Arrhenius plot, the apparent energy of activation（AEaapp ） for ATRP of mmA in BmImC1 was 16.6 kJ/mol which is much lower than that in diphenyl ether.
