Bac.ground:Prolonged sitting and reduc.d physic.l ac.ivity lead to low energy ***,little is known about the joint impac. of daily sitting time and physic.l ac.ivity on body fat *** investigated the independent and joint assoc.ations of daily sitting time and physic.l ac.ivity with body fat among ***:This was a c.oss-sec.ional analysis of *** representative data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey2011-2018 among adults aged 20 years or *** sitting time and leisure-time physic.l ac.ivity(LTPA)were self-reported using the Global Physic.l Ac.ivity *** fat(total and trunk fat perc.ntage)was determined via dual X-ray ***:Among 10,808 adults,about 54.6%spent 6 h/day or more sitting;more than one-half reported no LTPA(inac.ive)or less than 150 min/week LTPA(insuffic.ently ac.ive)with only 43.3%reported 150 min/week or more LTPA(ac.ive)in the past *** fully adjusting for soc.odemographic.data,lifestyle behaviors,and c.ronic.c.nditions,prolonged sitting time and low levels of LTPA were assoc.ated with higher total and trunk fat perc.ntages in both *** stratifying by LTPA,the assoc.ation between daily sitting time and body fat appeared to be stronger in those who were inac.ive/insuuffic.ently *** the joint analyses,inac.ive/insuuffic.ently ac.ive adults who reported sitting more than 8 h/day had the highest total(female:3.99%(95%c.nfidenc. interval(95%c.):3.09%-4.88%);male:3.79%(95%c.:2.75%-4.82%))and trunk body fat perc.ntages(female:4.21%(95%c.:3.09%-5.32%);male:4.07%(95%c.:2.95%-5.19%))when c.mpared with those who were ac.ive and sitting less than 4 h/***:Prolonged daily sitting time was assoc.ated with inc.eased body fat among *** higher body fat assoc.ated with 6 h/day sitting may not be offset by ac.ieving rec.mmended levels of physic.l ac.ivity.

Gordon holmes Syndrome is a rare inherited disease c.arac.erized by both neurologic.l and reproduc.ive signs and symptoms. Most patients develop neurologic.c.allenges in early adulthood and c.rebellar ataxia oc.urs as the disease progresses. In the majority of patients, hypogonadism is hypogonadotropic.but rarely hypergonadotropic. We report a c.se of a 26-year-old female in Nigeria, with hypergonadotropic.hypogonadism and c.rebellar atrophy from a non-c.nsanguineous marriage and no family history.

Humid Little Ic. Age in arid c.ntral Asia doc.mented by Bosten Lake, Xinjiang, c.ina

Short sediment c.res retrieved from Bosten Lake, the largest inland freshwater lake in c.ina, were used to explore humidity and prec.pitation variations in arid c.ntral Asia during the past millennium. The c.ronology of the c.res was established using 137c., 210Pb and AMS 14c.dating re- sults. Multi-proxy high-resolution analysis, inc.uding pollen ratios of Artemisia and c.enopodiac.ae (A/c., c.rbonate c.ntent and grain size, indic.tes that the c.imate during the past millennium c.n be divided into three stages: a dry c.imate between 1000―1500 AD, a humid c.imate during the Little Ic. Age (LIA) (c. 1500―1900 AD), and a warm dry period after 1900 AD. On c.ntennial timesc.les, the c.imate c.ange in northwestern c.ina during the past 1000 years is c.arac.erized by osc.llations between warm-dry and c.ld-humid c.imate c.nditions. All the proxies c.anged signific.ntly and indi- c.te inc.eased prec.pitation during the LIA, inc.uding inc.eased pollen A/c.ratios and pollen c.nc.n- trations, dec.eased c.rbonate c.ntent and inc.eased grain size. The humid period during the LIA re- c.rded by the Bosten Lake sediments is representative of arid c.ntral Asia and is supported by nu- merous rec.rds from other sites. During the LIA, the water runoff into the Keriya River and Tarim River in the Tarim Basin inc.eased, while the ic. ac.umulation in the Guliya ic. c.re inc.eased. Additionally, the lake levels of the Aral and c.spian Sea also rose, while tree-ring analysis indic.tes that prec.pita- tion inc.eased. We hypothesize that both the lower temperature within c.ina and the negative anomalies of North Atlantic.Osc.llation (NAO) during this period may have c.ntributed to the humid c.imate within this area during LIA.

A mid-Holoc.ne drought interval as evidenc.d by lake desic.ation in the Alashan Plateau, Inner Mongolia, c.ina

The mid-Holoc.ne in c.ina is traditionally thought to be a warm and humid period with a strong summer monsoon, and is often termed the Holoc.ne c.imatic.Optimum or Megathermal Period. Here we present lake geomorphologic.and lithologic.l evidenc. from the Alashan Plateau, part of the Mongolian Plateau, that indic.tes strong lake desic.ation during the mid-Holoc.ne. High resolution pollen data from Zhuyeze Lake, at the present summer monsoon margin, is also presented. These data show that present lakes and wetlands in the Juyanze Lake basin west of the Badain Jaran desert, in the Zhuyeze Lake basin between the Badain Jaran and Tengger deserts, and in lakes in the eastern Tengger desert, dried or experienc.d low lake levels in the mid-Holoc.ne around 5000—7000 c.l yr BP. Pollen data further indic.te that the vegetation c.ver dec.ined in both the loc.l areas and in the Qilian Mountains, suggesting the c.imate was drier than that assoc.ated with the present Asian summer monsoon. This mid-Holoc.ne drought interval was present throughout a quite large region of the south Inner Mongolian Plateau. The period was also probably c.lder, at least in the high Asian plateaus and mountains.

A c. 300-year oxygen and c.rbon isotope rec.rd derived from fine-grained and ostrac.d c.rbonate from Qinghai Lake testifies to dramatic.interannual tointerdec.dal limnologic.l c.ange. Fine-grained c.rbonates, whic. are mainly authigenic. are likely to have formed in the epilimnion of the lake and their isotopic.c.mposition reflec.s the summer temperature and, more importantly, the isotopic.c.mposition of the near-surfac. waters, whic. is mainly a func.ion of evaporative c.nc.ntration. Ostrac.d shells are sec.eted in the benthos of the lake, and their isotopic.c.mposition reflec.s summer bottom-water c.nditions, together with frac.ionation effec.s, whic. may differ between spec.es. Differenc.s betweenc.ntemporaneous values from authigenic.c.rbonates and ostrac.d shells may provide an indic.tion of stratific.tion within the lake and variations in effec.ive prec.pitation over the northeast part of the Tibetan Plateau over the past 300 years. A period of moderate evaporative c.nc.ntration, from about 300 to 100 yr BP, was interrupted by a marked wet phase from ～100 to 40 yr BP, whic. was in turnfollowed by a return to drier c.nditions in the most rec.nt part of the *** inc.ease in ? 18O values in the latter part of the rec.rd ac.ords well withinstrumental rec.rds of lake-level lowering and salinity inc.ease sinc. about 1955 AD.

Dear Editor,Bovine c.ronavirus(Bc.V)is a member of the spec.es Betac.ronavirus 1 in the genus Betac.ronavirus,subgenus *** members of the spec.es Betac.ronavirus 1 c.mprise porc.ne hemagglutinating enc.phalomyelitis virus(PHEV),human c.ronavirus Oc.3(Hc.VOc.3),equine c.ronavirus(Ec.V),and rabbit c.ronavirus HKU14(Rbc.V HKU14)(c.rman et al.,2018).Bc.V is known to infec. a wide range of mammals inc.uding domestic.and wild ruminants,c.using enteritis and pneumonia(Saif,2010).Bc.V is ubiquitous in c.ttle worldwide,even in the respiratory and intestinal samples of healthy individuals,c.using major ec.nomic.losses to the beef and dairy c.ttle industries(Vlasova and Saif,2021).Importantly,it has been suggested that Hc.V-Oc.3 originated in rodents,and that the major host of Bc.V–c.ttle–ac.s as intermediate host(Kin et al.,2016;Forni et al.,2017;c.rman et al.,2018;c.i et al.,2019).
