Background:A high prevalence of diabetes mellitus(DM)coexisting with autoimmune pancreatitis(AIP)is ***,evidence on the circumstances under which corticosteroid therapy(CST)for AIP improves or worsens DM is *** study aimed to demonstrate and identify predictors of DM control under the influence of ***:Patients diagnosed with type 1 AIP were enrolled from a prospectively maintained cohort and were classified into three groups according to the chronology in which AIP and DM were diagnosed:pre-existing DM(pDM),concurrent DM(cDM),and non-DM(nDM).The responses of DM to CST were assessed when corticosteroid was ceased or tapered to a maintenance dose and classified as‘improvement’and‘non-improvement’(including‘no change’and‘exacerbation’).Results:Among 101 patients with type 1 AIP,52(51.5%)patients were complicated with DM at the time of AIP diagnosis,with 36 patients in the cDM group and 16 patients in the pDM *** incidences of diffuse pancreatic swelling(72.2%)and pancreatic body/tail involvement(91.7%)were significantly higher in the cDM group than in both the pDM and nDM *** the 52 patients with DM,CST was administered in 48 *** logistic analysis identified that elevated serum gamma-glutamyl transferase(GGT)level at AIP diagnosis[odds ratio(OR)=0.032,95%confidence interval(CI):0.003-0.412,P=0.008]and pancreatic atrophy after CST(OR=0.027,95%CI:0.003-0.295,P=0.003)were negatively associated with DM control ***:Patients with diffuse pancreatic swelling and pancreatic body/tail involvement in pancreatitis tended to be complicated with cDM at AIP *** exerted a beneficial effect on the clinical course of DM in nearly half of the AIP patients complicated with DM at diagnosis,particularly in those without elevated serum GGT levels at diagnosis and who did not experience pancreatic atrophy after CST.

The effects of high-volume slag-fly ash cement with different particle sizes on hydration degree,microstructure and mechanical properties were systematically studied,by means of laser particle size(DLS),X-ray diffraction (XRD),comprehensive thermal analysis (TG-DTA),scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and mechanical properties *** results show that suitable particle size distribution of cementitious material has significantly promoting effects on hydration reaction rate and mechanical *** with slag without further grinding,the slag after ball milling for 4 h has an obvious improvement in reactivity,which also provides a faster hydration rate and higher compressive strength for the cementitious *** the slag milled for 1 and 4 h is mixed at a mass ratio of 2:1 (i e,slag with D_(50) of 7.4μm and average size of 9.9μm,and slag with D_(50) value of 2.6μm and average size of 5.3μm),and a certain amount of fly ash is added in,the most obvious improvement of compressive strength of cement is achieved.

The reasonable reactor design is of great importance for increasing the C_(2) yield(C2H4 and C2H6)of the oxidative coupling of methane(OCM),and the OCM reactor should remove the heat released in reactions quickly and efficiently and minimize the consecutive reaction of ethylene to carbon *** fluidized bed reactor is characterized by excellent heat transfer,superior mass transport,and large handling capacity,while fewer studies focused on large-scale fluidized bed reactors for the OCM ***,large cold-model experiments and computational fluid dynamics simulations were conducted to investigate hydrodynamics and the OCM reaction performance in a large-scale bubbling fluidized bed(BFB)and a large-scale *** the BFB reactor,consecutive reactions of ethylene are acute because of the strong gas back-mixing,high solids holdup,and non-uniform solids *** the consecutive reactions of ethylene are negligible due to the plug flow structure and low solids holdup in the riser ***,both reactors can achieve isothermal operation for the OCM *** C_(2) selectivity of 45.4% and C_(2) yield of 21.1% are obtained in the riser reactor,increasing by 20.3% and 5.8% individually than that in the BFB *** study provides useful information and reference to the OCM reactor designandcommercialization.

Gas flexible pipes are critical multi-layered equipment for offshore oil and gas development. Under high pressure conditions, small molecular components of natural gas dissolve into the polymer inner liner of the flexible pipes and further diffuse into the annular space, incurring annular pressure build-up and/or production of acidic environment, which poses serious challenges to the structure and integrity of the flexible pipes. Gas permeation in pipes is a complex phenomenon governed by various factors such as internal pressure and temperature, annular structure, external temperature. In a long-distance gas flexible pipe, moreover, gas permeation exhibits non-uniform features, and the gas permeated into the annular space flows along the metal gap. To assess the complex gas transport behavior in long-distance gas flexible pipes, a mathematical model is established in this paper considering the multiphase flow phenomena inside the flexible pipes, the diffusion of gas in the inner liner, and the gas seepage in the annular space under varying permeable properties of the annulus. In addition, the effect of a variable temperature is accounted. A numerical calculation method is accordingly constructed to solve the coupling mathematical equations. The annular permeability was shown to significantly influence the distribution of annular pressure. As permeability increases, the annular pressure tends to become more uniform, and the annular pressure at the wellhead rises more rapidly. After annular pressure relief followed by shut-in, the pressure increase follows a convex function. By simulating the pressure recovery pattern after pressure relief and comparing it with test results, we deduce that the annular permeability lies between 123 and 512 m D. The results help shed light upon assessing the annular pressure in long distance gas flexible pipes and thus ensure the security of gas transport in the emerging development of offshore resources.

The occurrence characteristics of shale oil are of great significance to the movability of shale *** this study,the occurrence characteristics of oil in the shale matrix at Funing Formation shale in Subei Basin were quantitatively evaluated by organic geochemistry and microscopic pore structure characterization *** Multiple Isothermal Stages Pyrolysis(MIS)experiment results show that the content of total oil,adsorbed oil,and free oil in the shales are 3.15-11.25 mg/g,1.41-4.95 mg/g,and 1.74-6.51 mg/g,*** which the silicon-rich shale has the best *** relative content of free oil shows an increasing trend in pores with pore diameters greater than 3 *** the relative content of free oil reaches 100%,the pore size of silicon-rich shale is about 200 nm,while that of calcium-rich shale,clay-rich shale,and siliceous mixed shale is about 10 *** occurrence law of adsorbed oil is opposite to that of free oil,which indicates that shale oil will occur in the pores and fractures in a free state in a more extensive pore size range(>200 nm).This study also enables us to further understand the occurrence characteristics of shale oil under the interaction of occurrence state and occurrence space.

Dear Editor,We present the first time,a case of a patient developed cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)leak and pneumocranium following optic canal decompression(OCD).INTRODUCTION Indirect traumatic optic neuropathy(ITON)impairs visual functions and quality of *** transnasal optic canal decompression(ETOCD)is one of the standard treatment strategies for the *** the ETOCD,the optic nerve sheath are usually incised for sufficient decompression of optic nerve after removal of optic canal,which is associated with complications like CSF leakage,ophthalmic artery injury,and optic nerve injury[1].Generally,the mild CSF leak is common and can heal spontaneously using conventional treatment,the severe CSF leak requires surgical repair[2].

Optical pulling provides a new degree of freedom in optical *** is generally believed that long-range optical pulling forces cannot be generated by the gradient of the incident ***,we theoretically propose and numerically demonstrate the realization of a long-range optical pulling force stemming from a self-induced gradient field in the manipulated *** analogy to potential barriers in quantum tunnelling,we use a photonic band gap design in order to obtain the intensity gradients inside a manipulated object placed in a photonic crystal waveguide,thereby achieving a pulling *** the usual scattering-type optical pulling forces,the proposed gradient-field approach does not require precise elimination of the reflection from the manipulated *** particular,the Einstein-Laub formalism is applied to design this unconventional gradient *** magnitude of the force can be enhanced by a factor of up to 50 at the optical resonance of the manipulated object in the waveguide,making it insensitive to *** developed approach helps to break the limitation of scattering forces to obtain longrange optical pulling for manipulation and sorting of nanoparticles and other *** developed principle of using the band gap to obtain a pulling force may also be applied to other types of waves,such as acoustic or water waves,which are important for numerous applications.
