Exosomes are cup-shaped extracellular vesicles with a lipid bilayer that is approximately 30 to 200 nm in *** are widely distributed in a range of body fluids,including urine,blood,milk,and *** exert biological function by transporting factors between different cells and by regulating biological pathways in recipient *** an important form of intercellular communication,exosomes are increasingly being investigated due to their ability to transfer bioactive molecules such as lipids,proteins,mRNAs,and microRNAs between cells,and because they can regulate physiological and pathological processes in the central nervous *** neurogenesis is a multistage process by which new neurons are generated and migrate to be integrated into existing neuronal *** the adult brain,neurogenesis is mainly localized in two specialized niches:the subventricular zone adjacent to the lateral ventricles and the subgranular zone of the dentate *** increasing body of evidence indicates that adult neurogenesis is tightly controlled by environmental conditions with the *** recent studies,exosomes released from different sources of cells were shown to play an active role in regulating neurogenesis both in vitro and in vivo,thereby participating in the progression of neurodegenerative disorders in patients and in various disease ***,we provide a state-of-the-art synopsis of existing research that aimed to identify the diverse components of exosome cargoes and elucidate the therapeutic potential of exosomal contents in the regulation of neurogenesis in several neurodegenerative *** emphasize that exosomal cargoes could serve as a potential biomarker to monitor functional neurogenesis in *** addition,exosomes can also be considered as a novel therapeutic approach to treat various neurodegenerative disorders by improving endogenous neurogenesis to mitigate neuronal loss in the central nervous system.

Utilizing ionic liquid(IL)-water mixtures as selective extraction solvents for raw materials from natural sources represents an efficacious approach; however, elucidating the underlying mechanisms inherent in various types of IL-aqueous solutions continues to pose a significant challenge. In this study, molecular dynamics simulations and density functional theory calculations are employed to illuminate the influence of the functional anion within ILs and the water content on the solvation mechanism and phase separation phenomena observed during the extraction of camptothecin(CPT) using aqueous IL solutions. The simulation results show that the anions in ILs preferentially dissolve CPT through hydrogen bonding at low water concentrations. As the water concentration increases, the hydrophobic IL binds more tightly to CPT, enabling the water to self-aggregate. The anions in hydrophilic IL form hydrogen bonds with water instead, further enhancing the dissolution of CPT. This work reveals the mechanism of phase separation and solvation of different types of IL aqueous solutions, which is helpful in developing new drug extraction and purification technologies.

Constructing heterostructures has proved to be a successful strategy to fabricate electrocatalysts with high efficiency for water ***,the structure evolution in alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction lacks investigation and the specific active center remains ***,we take the well-designed Ni_(3)S_(2)@VO_(2) heterostructures as a model to investigate the electrocatalytic activity and the surface reconstruction process of heterostructure catalysts in alkaline *** Ni_(3)S_(2)@VO_(2) heterostructures,with Ni_(3)S_(2) nanorods as the core and VO_(2) nanoflakes as the shell,coupled with the high conductive Ni_(3)S_(2),the hydrophilic VO_(2) and modulated electronic structures at the interfaces,exhibited prominent activity and superior stability at various current ***,the ex-situ characterizations confirmed that the surface reconstruction from Ni_(3)S_(2)@VO_(2) into Ni_(3)S_(2)@amorphous-Ni(OH)_(2) in alkaline media could optimize the water dissociation barrier and exposed large active area,thereby contributing to improved electrocatalytic *** study not only introduces novel high-performance electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),but also provides a new avenue for re-examining hetero-structural catalysts in alkaline solutions.

Traumatic brain injury is a serious medical condition that can be attributed to falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries and acts of violence, causing a series of neural injuries and neuropsychiatric symptoms. However, limited accessibility to the injury sites, complicated histological and anatomical structure, intricate cellular and extracellular milieu, lack of regenerative capacity in the native cells, vast variety of damage routes, and the insufficient time available for treatment have restricted the widespread application of several therapeutic methods in cases of central nervous system injury. Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine have emerged as innovative approaches in the field of nerve regeneration. By combining biomaterials, stem cells, and growth factors, these approaches have provided a platform for developing effective treatments for neural injuries, which can offer the potential to restore neural function, improve patient outcomes, and reduce the need for drugs and invasive surgical procedures. Biomaterials have shown advantages in promoting neural development, inhibiting glial scar formation, and providing a suitable biomimetic neural microenvironment, which makes their application promising in the field of neural regeneration. For instance, bioactive scaffolds loaded with stem cells can provide a biocompatible and biodegradable milieu. Furthermore, stem cells-derived exosomes combine the advantages of stem cells, avoid the risk of immune rejection, cooperate with biomaterials to enhance their biological functions, and exert stable functions, thereby inducing angiogenesis and neural regeneration in patients with traumatic brain injury and promoting the recovery of brain function. Unfortunately, biomaterials have shown positive effects in the laboratory, but when similar materials are used in clinical studies of human central nervous system regeneration, their efficacy is unsatisfactory. Glucosinolates(GSLs) are a group of nitrogen-and sulfur-containing secondary metabolites, synthesized primarily in members of the Brassicaceae family, that play an important role in food flavor, plant antimicrobial activity, resistance to insect attack, stress tolerance, and human anti-cancer effects. As a sulfur-containing compound, glutathione has a strong connection with GSLs biosynthesis as a sulfur donor or redox system, and exists in reduced(glutathione;GSH) and oxidized(glutathione disulfide;GSSG) forms. However, the mechanism of GSH regulating GSLs biosynthesis remainds unclear. Hence, the exogenous therapy to pakchoi under normal growth condition and sulfur deficiency condition were conducted in this work to explore the relevant mechanism. The results showed that exogenous application of buthionine sulfoximine, an inhibitor of GSH synthesis, decreased the transcript levels of GSLs synthesis-related genes and transcription factors, as well as sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal growth condition. Application of exogenous GSH inhibited the expression of GSLs synthesis-and sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal condition, while the GSLs biosynthesis and the sulfur assimilation pathway were activated by exogenous application of GSH when the content of GSH in vivo of plants decreased owing to sulfur deficiency. Moreover,exogenous application of GSSG increased the transcript levels of GSLs synthesis-and sulfur assimilation-related genes under the normal growth condition and under sulfur deficiency. The present work provides new insights into the molecular mechanisms of GSLs biosynthesis underlying glutathione regulation.

Synergic catalytic effect between active sites and supports greatly determines the catalytic activity for the aerobic oxidative desulfurization of fuel *** this work,Ni-doped Co-based bimetallic metal-organic framework(CoNi-MOF)is fabricated to disperse N-hydroxyphthalimide(NHPI),in which the whole catalyst provides plentiful synergic catalytic effect to improve the performance of oxidative desulfurization(ODS).As a bimetallic MOF,the second metal Ni doping results in the flower-like morphology and the modification of electronic properties,which ensure the exposure of NHPI and strengthen the synergistic effect of the overall *** with the monometallic Co-MOF and naked NHPI,the NHPI@CoNi-MOF triggers the efficient activation of molecular oxygen and improves the ODS performance without an *** sulfur removal of dibenzothiophene-based model oil reaches 96.4%over the NHPI@CoNi-MOF catalyst in 8 h of ***,the catalytic product of this aerobic ODS reaction is sulfone,which is adsorbed on the catalyst surface due to the difference in *** work provides new insight and strategy for the design of a strong synergic catalytic effect between NHPI and bimetallic supports toward high-activity aerobic ODS materials.

Photothermal material applied in environmental governance has attracted growing *** combining the Stober method and dopamine-triggered coating strategy,Co-Mn precursor was in situ incorporated into the poly dopamine(PDA)layer over the surface of silica ***,a unique photothermal nanosphere with SiO_(2)core and thin carbon layer and dual Co-Mn oxides shell was allowed to form by sequential heat treatment in the inert atmosphere(SiO_(2)@CoMn/C).The bimetallic fraction of Co/Mn in the carbon layer and post-treatment calcination temperature was comprehensively tuned to optimize the peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation performance of the *** state of bimetallic species was studied including their physical distribution,chemical valence,and interplay by various ***,Co oxides appear as dominant monodispersed nanoparticles(~10 nm),while Mn with cluster-like morphology is observed to uniformly distribute over thin-layer carbon and adhered to the surface of SiO_(2)nanospheres(~250 nm).The calcined temperature could tune the oxidized state of Co species,leading to the optimization of the catalytic performance of introduced dual metal *** a result,this obtained optimal catalyst integrated the advantages of exposed bimetallic CoMn species and N-doped thin carbon to deliver excellent catalytic PMS activation performance and photothermal synergetic catalytic mineralization ability for diversiform *** reactions condition controls and anion interference studies were conducted to identify the adaptability of the optimal ***,the application of solar-driven interfacial water evaporation using optimal SiO_(2)@Co_3Mn_1/C-600 catalyst was explored,showing a high water evaporation rate of 1.48 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1)and an efficiency of 95.2%,further revealing a comprehensive governance functionality of obtained material in the complex pollution condition.

Neural networks(NNs)have been used extensively in surface water prediction tasks due to computing algorithm improvements and data *** essential step in developing an NN is the hyperparameter *** practice,it is common to manually determine hyperparameters in the studies of NNs in water resources *** may result in considerable randomness and require significant computation time;therefore,hyperparameter optimization(HPO)is *** study adopted five representatives of the HPO techniques in the surface water quality prediction tasks,including the grid sampling(GS),random search(RS),genetic algorithm(GA),Bayesian optimization(BO)based on the Gaussian process(GP),and the tree Parzen estimator(TPE).For the evaluation of these techniques,this study proposed a method:first,the optimal hyperparameter value sets achieved by GS were regarded as the benchmark;then,the other HPO techniques were evaluated and compared with the benchmark in convergence,optimization orientation,and consistency of the optimized *** results indicated that the TPE-based BO algorithm was recommended because it yielded stable convergence,reasonable optimization orientation,and the highest consistency rates with the benchmark *** optimization consistency rates via TPE for the hyperparameters hidden layers,hidden dimension,learning rate,and batch size were 86.7%,73.3%,73.3%,and 80.0%,*** the evaluation of HPO techniques directly based on the prediction performance of the optimized NN in a single HPO test,the proposed benchmark-based HPO evaluation approach is feasible and robust.

It remains full of challenge for extending short-wave infrared(SWIR)spectral response and weak-light detection in the context of broad spectral responses for *** this work,a novel poly(2,5-bis(4-hexyldodecyl)-2,5-dihydro-3,6-di-2-thienyl-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,4-dione-alt-thiophene)(PDPPT3-HDO):COTIC-4F organic bulk-heterojunction is prepared as active layer for bulk heterojunction ***3-HDO serves as a hole transport material,while COTIC-4F enhances the absorption of SWIR light to 1020 *** a result,smooth and connected PDPPT3-HDO film is fabricated by blade coating method and exhibits high hole mobility up to 2.34 cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1) with a current on/off ratio of 4.72×10^(5) in organic thin film ***3-HDO:COTIC-4F heterojunction phototransistors exhibit high responsivity of 2680 A·W^(-1) to 900 nm and 815 A·W^(-1) to 1020 nm,with fast response time(rise time~20 ms and fall time~100 ms).The photosensitivity of the heterojunction phototransistor improves as the mass ratio of non-fullerene acceptors increases,resulting in an approximately two orders of magnitude enhancement compared to the bare polymer ***,the phototransistor exhibits decent responsivity even under ultra-weak light power of 43μW·cm^(-2) to 1020 *** work represents a highly effective and general strategy for fabricating efficient and sensitive SWIR light photodetectors.
