The c.existenc. of.multiple users, of.en transmitting at signif.c.ntly dif.erent power levels, makes c. rec.ivers vulnerable to spec.ral leakage c.used by c.mponents＇ nonlinearities and timetrunc.tion of.the proc.ssed signal rec.rds. In this work we propose a method f.r mitigating the latter with an adaptive c.oic. of.the length of.the proc.ssing bloc. size. With simulations we show that a signif.c.nt leakage reduc.ion that leads to rec.iver dynamic.range improvement of.around 10 dB c.n be ac.ieved with the proposed method.

Axonal growth inhibitors are released during traumatic.injuries to the adult mammalian c.ntral nervous system, inc.0}ding af.er spinal c.rd injury. These molec.les ac.umulate at the injury site and f.rm a highly inhibitory environment f.r axonal regeneration. Among these inhibitory molec.les, myelinassoc.ated inhibitors, inc.0}ding neurite outgrowth inhibitor A, oligodendroc.te myelin glyc.protein, myelin-assoc.ated glyc.protein, c.ondroitin sulf.te proteoglyc.ns and repulsive guidanc. molec.le A are of.partic.lar importanc.. Due to their inhibitory nature, they represent exc.ting molec.lar targets to study axonal inhibition and regeneration af.er c.ntral injuries. These molec.les are mainly produc.d by neurons, oligodendroc.tes, and astroc.tes within the sc.r and in its immediate vic.nity. They exert their ef.ec.s by binding to spec.f.c.rec.ptors, loc.lized in the membranes of.neurons. Rec.ptors f.r these inhibitory c.es inc.0}de Nogo rec.ptor 1, leuc.ne-ric. repeat, and Ig domain c.ntaining 1 and p75 neurotrophin rec.ptor/tumor nec.osis f.c.or rec.ptor superf.mily member 19(that f.rm a rec.ptor c.mplex that binds all myelin-assoc.ated inhibitors), and also paired immunoglobulin-like rec.ptor B. c.ondroitin sulf.te proteoglyc.ns and repulsive guidanc. molec.le A bind to Nogo rec.ptor 1, Nogo rec.ptor 3, rec.ptor protein tyrosine phosphatase σ and leuc.c.te c.mmon antigen related phosphatase, and neogenin, respec.ively. Onc. ac.ivated, these rec.ptors initiate downstream signaling pathways, the most c.mmon amongst them being the Rho A/ROc. signaling pathway. These signaling c.sc.des result in ac.in depolymerization, neurite outgrowth inhibition, and f.ilure to regenerate af.er spinal c.rd injury. c.rrently, there are no approved pharmac.logic.l treatments to overc.me spinal c.rd injuries other than physic.l rehabilitation and management of.the array of.symptoms brought on by spinal c.rd injuries. In Brazil, intense c.al exploitation ac.ivities have led to environmental deterioration, inc.0}ding soil mortif.c.tion, water c.ntamination, loss of.ec.system, and atmospheric.c.ntamination. In addition,c.nsiderable quantities of.sulf.r-ric. residues are lef. behind in the mining area; these residues pose grave environmental issues as they undergo sulf.de oxidation reac.ions. When sulf.r oxides c.me in c.ntac. with water, extreme ac.d leac.ate is produc.d with great proportions of.sulf.te, and hazardous elements(HEs), whic. are identif.ed as c.al drainage(c.D). c.D is an environmental pollution c.allenge, partic.larly in c.untries with historic.or ac.ive c.al mines. To prevent c.D f.rmation or its migration, the sourc. must be c.ntrolled; however, this may not be f.asible at many loc.tions. In suc. sc.narios, the mine water should be c.llec.ed, treated, and disc.arged. In this study, data f.om 2005 to2010 was gathered on the geoc.emistry of.11 c.D disc.arges f.om ten dif.erent mines. There are several c.nc.rns and questions on the f.rmation of.nanominerals in mine ac.d drainage and on their reac.ions and interf.c.s. The detailed mineralogic.l and geoc.emic.l data presented in this paper were derived f.om previous studies on the c.al mine areas in Brazil. Oxyhydroxides, sulf.tes, and nanopartic.es in these areas possibly go through struc.ural transf.rmations depending on their size and f.rmation c.nditions. The geoc.emistry of.f.-prec.pitates(suc. as jarosite, goethite, and hematite) existent in the c.D-generating c.al areas and those that c.uld be c.nsidered as a potential sourc. of.hazardous elements(HEs)(e.g., c.) were also studied bec.use these prec.pitates are relatively stable in extremely low pH c.nditions. The bipartite begomoviruses (Geminiviridae f.mily), whic. are DNA viruses that replic.te in the nuc.eus of.inf.c.ed c.lls, enc.de the nuc.ear shuttle protein (NsP) to f.c.litate the transloc.tion of.viral DNA f.om the nuc.eus to the c.toplasm via nuc.ear pores. This intrac.llular traf.ic.ing of.NsP-DNA c.mplexes is ac.essorized by the NsP-interac.ing guanosine triphosphatase (NIG) at the c.tosolic.side. Here, we report the nuc.ear redistribution of.NIG by AtWWPI, a WW domain-c.ntaining protein that f.rms immune nuc.ear bodies (NBs) against begomoviruses. We demonstrated that AtWWPI reloc.tes NIG f.om the c.toplasm to the nuc.eus where it is c.nf.ned to AtWWP1-NBs, suggesting that the NIG-AtWWP1 interac.ion may interf.re with the NIG pro-viral f.nc.ion assoc.ated with its c.tosolic.loc.lization. c.nsistent with this assumpti on joss AtWWPI f.nc.i on c.ased plants more susc.ptible to begomovirus inf.c.ion, whereas overexpression of.AWWP1 enhaneed plant resistanc. to begomovirus. f.rthermore, we f.und that a mutant versi on of.AtWWPI def.c.ive f.r NB f.rmatio n was noIonger c.pable of.interac.i ng with and reloc.ting NIG to the nuc.eus and lost its immune f.nc.ion against begomovirus. The antiviral f.nc.ion of.AtWWP1-NBs, however, c.uld be antagonized by viral inf.c.ion that induc.d either the disruption or a dec.ease in the number of.AtWWP1-NBs. c.llec.ively, these results led us to propose that AtWWPI organizes nuc.ear struc.ures into nuc.ear f.c., whic. provide intrinsic.immunity against begomovirus inf.c.ion.
