High resolution (4 mm) tof PET-CT (positron emission tomography-computed tomography) from Philips of model Ingenuity TF is newly installed at Institute of Nuclear Medical Physics (INMP). 128 slice CT component incorporated with PET provides comparatively lower dose than the 511 keV annihilation photons associated with positron decay from PET scan. So, for designing shielding in our PET-CT facility, only 511 keV annihilation photons energy has been considered. The main objective of this paper is to show what measures have been taken to protect patients, occupational workers as well as environment from PET-CT radiation hazard through a cost effective design that satisfy the national regulatory demand. In this paper, AAPM (American Associations of Physicists in Medicine) Task group 108 analysis for PET and PET-CT shielding requirements is followed for our PET-CT facility shielding design. From theoretical calculation as shielding requirement, 1.1 cm Pb thickness or, 13 cm concrete thicknesses are found. Practically, all walls and ceiling are of 30.48 cm (1 foot) thick made of concrete with density 2.35 gcm-3 for more safety. As x-ray from CT is not taken into account for shielding analysis, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) conducted an extensive radiation survey at controlled, supervised and public area for CT. The report that is found meets the national regulatory requirements.

Renewable energy technology is one of the prospective sources which can meet the energy demand and can contribute to achieve sustainable development *** collectors are widely used in solar thermal power generation and water heating system *** is very popular due to its high thermal efficiency,simple construction requirements and low manufacturing *** paper is concerned with an experimental study of parabolic trough collector for water heating *** focuses on the performance of concentrating solar collector by changing the reflector materials(aluminum sheet,aluminum foil and mirror film).In Bangladesh,it is possible to use low cost solar concentrating technologies for domestic as well as industrial process heat *** line focusing parabolic trough collectors have been designed,developed and evaluated its performance by collecting solar radiation,inlet and outlet water temperature,flow rate,efficiency etc.

Eutrophication is the term used to describe the presence of natural and artificial nutrients like phosphorus and nitrogen in aquatic *** water quality in various bodies of water such as ponds,lakes,rivers,*** deteriorating as a result of an abundance of plant nutrients in these water ***-enrichment of aquatic ecosystems with nutrients is a major hazard to the well-being of aquatic ecosystems *** addition,the circulations have lowered the requirements for home and agricultural consumption of *** main origins of these plant nutrients within aquatic ecosystems stem from the discharges of industries engaged in activities like livestock farming,agriculture,fertilizer production,manufacturing of textiles,and clothing ***,a variety of methods and approaches have already been developed as safety measures to avoid the negative consequences of water tainted with those undesired *** presents many obstacles,but with the right public awareness campaign and global scientific efforts,its negative impacts may be *** research seeks to pinpoint the primary origins of plant nutrients within the aquatic ecosystem and explore potential triggers for ***,it proposes innovative regulatory methods and offers suggestions for sustainable wastewater management practices.

Copper zinc tin sulfide(CZTS)thin film was synthesized on soda lime glass substrate by using spin coating *** synthesized CZTS thin film showed maximum absorption coefficient of 0.193×104 cm-1 and maximum extinction coefficient of *** direct optical band gap,Urbach energy and steepness parameter of the synthesized CZTS thin film were 1.52 eV,0.52 eV and 0.05 *** CZTS thin film was found to be polycrystalline tetragonal in *** scanning electron microscopy(SEM)revealed that the texture structure was formed for the CZTS thin film.

Background:National forest inventory and forest monitoring systems are more important than ever considering continued global degradation of trees and *** systems are especially important in a country like Bangladesh,which is characterised by a large population density,climate change vulnerability and dependence on natural *** the aim of supporting the Government’s actions towards sustainable forest management through reliable information,the Bangladesh Forest Inventory(BFI)was designed and implemented through three components:biophysical inventory,socio-economic survey and remote sensing-based land cover *** article documents the approach undertaken by the Forest Department under the Ministry of Environment,Forests and Climate Change to establish the BFI as a multipurpose,efficient,accurate and replicable national forest *** design,operationalization and some key results of the process are ***:The BFI takes advantage of the latest and most well-accepted technological and methodological ***,it was designed through a collaborative process which drew from the experience and knowledge of multiple national and international ***,1781 field plots were visited,6400 households were surveyed,and a national land cover map for the year 2015 was *** technological enhancements include a semi-automated segmentation approach for developing the wall-to-wall land cover map,an object-based national land characterisation system,consistent estimates between sample-based and mapped land cover areas,use of mobile apps for tree species identification and data collection,and use of differential global positioning system for referencing plot ***:Seven criteria,and multiple associated indicators,were developed for monitoring progress towards sustainable forest management goals,informing management decisions,and national and international reporting needs.A wide range of biophysica
