Classification of the firmness of peaches by sensor fusion

The objectives of this research were to compare the performance of each individual nondestructive sensor with the destructive sensor,and to apply sensor fusion technique to explore whether a combination of sensors would give better results than a single sensor for classification of peach *** were carried out with four peach varieties namely Royal glory,Caterina,Tirrenia and *** this research,the three nondestructive firmness sensors acoustic firmness,low-mass impact and micro-deformation impact were used to measure firmness.A Bayesian classifier was chosen to provide a classification into three categories,namely soft,intermediate and *** level fusion technique was performed by using identity declaration provided by each *** data fusion system processed the information of the sensors to output the fused *** result of the high level fusion was compared with the classification provided by an unsupervised algorithm based on destructive reference *** fusion process of the nondestructive sensors provided some improvements in the firmness classification;the error rate varied from 25%to 19%for individual ***,the results of fusion process by using three sensors decreased the error rate from 19%to 13%.This research demonstrated that the fused systems provided more complete and complementary information and,thus,were more effective than individual sensors in the firmness classification of peaches.

Photocatalytic degradation of paraquat using mesoporous-assembled Cu-TiO2 /SBA15 under UV and visible light was *** catalyst was synthesized by impregnation of Cu-TiO2 colloids onto *** colloids of Cu-TiO2 were prepared via solgel method while the mesoporous support was prepared using hydrothermal *** catalyst was characterized using X-ray diffraction,nitrogen adsorption-desorption,transmission electron microscopy,UV diffuse reflectance spectroscopy,Zeta potential and X-ray adsorption *** from characterizations showed that Cu doped TiO2 had a small crystalline size and was welldispersed on *** inclusion of SBA-15 significantly enhanced the photocatalytic activity of the *** the three types of undoped catalyst in this study （P25,TiO2,TiO_2 /SBA-15）,TiO2 /SBA-15 yielded the highest degradation of paraquat for all pH under UV *** 2 wt.% Cu-TiO2 /SBA-15 yielded the highest activity under visible light.

There are important sex-related differences in elderly patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Women are older,more frequently frail,and present more comorbidities than *** symptoms at presentation are also more common in female patients,they are leaded to a delayed diagnosis and *** angiography and subsequent revascularization are frequently underused in elderly women and they tend to receive less guidelines-recommended *** prognosis in elderly frail women with ACS is poor,and it is with high mortality and readmissions *** is recurrent ischemic events in which it is more frequent in women than in *** time might be long,and a multidisciplinary approach is desirable to improve prognosis and quality of *** studies are needed in order to clarify the benefit of the different therapies in the group of frail women,and this is particularly true for revascularization,as scientific evidence in this group is very scarce.

This study analyzes six vegetation communities in relation to current climatic parameters and eight climate change scenarios along an elevation gradient extending from 2,710 m to 4,210 m in the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. The projected movements of 25 plant species with the current restricted or wide altitudinal distributions were also modeled. To relate climatic parameters to the species and communities, a Precipitation/Temperature （P/T） index was used both for the current and the different climate-change scenarios. The temperatures are expected to increase by 1.1℃ to 1.7℃ by 2020 and by 2℃ to 3℃ by 2o5o. A decrease of 4% to 13% in the annual precipitation is expected for the 2020 horizon, and a reduction between 3% and 20% is expected for 2050. The reductions in water availability were projected for all altitude levels and plant communities. The most marked reduction was under the HADLEY- A2 scenario, in which the lower limit of the altitudinal range increased from 2,71o to 3,31o m （2050 horizon） with reductions in the P/T index between 36% and 39% compared to the current climate. Most plant species tended to shift their distribution from 20o to 300 m upward in the 2020 temporal horizon scenarios. The Pinus hartwegii, Alnus jorullensis and Pinus montezumae communities would have a shorter altitudinal range as they move upward and merge with the remaining species at the higher altitudinal range. For the 2o5o temporal horizon, 3o% of the species, primarily those from the higher altitudinal range, would disappear because their P/Tindex values would be above the limit of plant survival （〉4,210 m）.

A novel computational screening study of single transition metal(TM),TM-doped,and dual TMs-doped on CdS(110)surfaces via DFT calculations is presented,focusing on their stability and catalytic activity,searching for efficient photocatalysts for hydrogen *** based on key performance descriptors allowed to fine-tune the *** indicate that TM dopants can reduce the energy band gap and enhance impurity ***,Rh,and Pd were found to be the best dopants in TM-doped CdS,since their|Δg_(H)|is 80%smaller compared to the pristine CdS ***,TM1-TM2-co-doped CdS catalysts show better performance for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)due to synergistic effects of the two TMs,where Co-Pt,Pd-Pt and Co-Rh co-doping CdS significantly reduced|ΔgH|to less than 0.1 *** point out four promising novel co-catalysts(i.e.,Co,Co-Pt,Co-Rh,Rh-Ag)with very good performance in HER,to be further explored in experimental studies.

The Cuban people are made up of three major migratory currents, the Chinese are one of them. They brought their culture, the methods, and procedures of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) in the 19th century. Few were able to return and so they created families in Cuba;some of their descendants dedicated themselves to medicine. In order to investigate the practices that were predecessors of TCM in Cuba in the 19th century, a qualitative phenomenological research was carried out, reviewing what was published by various sources, applying documentary analysis, logical historical analysis, abstraction, synthesis, and systematization of the results on the regularities of the work and human behavior of Chinese doctors in the Cuban 19th and 20th centuries. This made it possible to identify six Chinese doctors in the 19th century in Cuba who gave rise to the beginning of some practices of TCM in Cuba, and five from the 20th century, descendants of coolies who dedicated themselves to other specialties of medicine. It was found that despite their geographical and time disperse, they were all notorious for their outstanding professional and human behavior, with a trail of accumulated successes in achieving “almost the impossible” with the patient. They have left their mark on Cuban culture.

The steam reforming of glycerol has been studied at 500 and 600 oC using Co/SBA-15 and Co/M/SBA-15（M: Zr, Ce, or La） promoted catalysts. The prepared materials were characterized by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy（ICP-AES）, X-ray powder diffraction（XRD）, hydrogen temperatureprogramed reduction（H;-TPR）, ammonia temperature-programed desorption（NH;-TPD）, nitrogen physisorption analysis（N;-BET）, transmission electron microscopy（TEM） and thermogravimetric analysis（TgA）. The incorporation of promoters like Zr, Ce and La on SBA-15 support and successive Co impregnation leaded to smaller cobalt crystallites improving metaldispersion. Besides, stronger metal-support interactions between Co species and M/SBA-15 supports were observed. Thanks to the incorporation of Zr, La and mainly Ce, promoted catalysts present higher glycerol conversion than Co/SBA-15 along 5 h of time on stream. Besides, at 600 oC, Co/M/SBA-15（M: Zr, Ce, or La） catalysts produce higher hydrogen amounts than Co/SBA-15.

Lichen planus is a fairly common chronic idiopathic disorder of the skin,nails and mucosal *** involvement of this disease on the other hand is rare and only about 50 cases have been reported in *** its rarity,it can be difficult to diagnose and may be easily misdiagnosed as reflux ***,there are no clear recommendations on the optimal management of this disease and little is known about the best treatment *** steroids are usually the first line treatment and offer a favorable *** this report,we would like to present a novel approach in the management of esophageal lichen planus in a middle-aged woman treated successfully with swallowed fluticasone propionate 220 mcg twice a day for 6 wk,as evidenced by objective clinical *** on our review of related literature and experience in this patient,we feel that a trial of swallowed fluticasone may be a prudent approach in the management of these patients since it has a more favorable side effect profile than systemic treatment.

Background:Lung hypoplasia,pulmonary persistent hypertension of the newborn and its morphological changes are the main features in congenital diaphragmatic hernia(CDH).This study was undertaken to investigate if antenatal use of sildenafil and/or bosentan attenuates vascular remodeling,promotes branching,and improves alveolarization in experimental nitrofeninduced ***:Nitrofen(100 mg)was gavage-fed to pregnant rats at post conception day(PCD)9 to induce *** rats were randomized to 5 groups:1)control;2)nitrofen;3)nitrofen+sildenafil 100 mg/kg per day at PCD 16-20;4)nitrofen+bosentan 30 mg/kg per day,at PCD 16-20,and 5)nitrofen+bosentan+sildenafil,same doses and administration *** cesarean delivery,the offsprings were sacrifi *** diaphragmatic defect and pulmonary hypoplasia were identified,and the lungs were *** wall thickness,bronchiolar density and alveolarization were ***:The offsprings with CDH were characterized by severe pulmonary hypoplasia(lung weight-to-body weight ratio:0.0263[95%confidence interval(CI)0.0242-0.0278)]in the nitrofen group versus 0.0385(95%CI 0.0355-0.0424)in the control group(P=0.0001).Pulmonary arterial wall thickness was decreased to 3.0(95%CI 2.8-3.7)μm in the nitrofen+sildenafil group versus 5.0(95%CI 4.1-4.9)μm in the nitrofen group(P=0.02).Terminal bronchioles increased to 13.7(95%CI 10.7-15.2)μm in the nitrofen+bosentan group in contrast to 8.7(95%CI 7.2-9.4)μm in the nitrofen group(P=0.002).More significant differences(P=0.0001)were seen in terminal bronchioles in the nitrofen+sildenafil+bosentan group than in the nitrofen group[14.0(95%CI 12.5-15.4)μm versus 8.5(95%CI 7.1-9.3)μm].Pulmonary arterial wall thickness was also decreased in the former ***:In this rat model,antenatal treatment with sildenafil attenuates vascular *** promotes the development of terminal bronchioles in nitrofen-induced CDH.
