Introduc.ion: Loc.ted in the c.ntral-western part of c.te d’Ivoire, the subsoil of the Gagnoa region is made up of sedimentary volc.no formations and granitoids with developed frac.uring. This c.mplex Prec.mbrian basement c.ntains most of the region’s water resourc.s. This is at the origin of the high failure rate during the various hydrogeologic.l prospec.ing c.mpaigns. Methodology: The database c.nsists of resistivities from 42 holes and 51 trails drilled as part of the implementation of high-throughput drilling in the study area. The objec.ive of this study is to deepen the knowledge of the fissured basement by interpreting profile c.rves and elec.ric.l soundings. It will be a question of c.assifying the different types of anomalies obtained on the profiles and their shapes. The orientation of the lineaments observed on the profiles was determined. Results: The interpretation of the geophysic.l data revealed various anomalies, the main ones being of the c. (c.nduc.or c.mpartment) and c.DP (c.ntac. between two bearings) types. These types of anomalies are mainly expressed in various forms: the “V”, “W” and “U” shapes. From these anomalies and the appearanc. of the elec.ric.l profiles, lineaments and their orientations were identified with N90-100, N130-140, N170-180 as major orientations. c.nc.usion: These results c.uld c.ntribute to a better understanding of the frac.ured environment of the Gagnoa region.

There was no fac.or predisposing to a failure of the tec.nique (implant in plac. for less than 2 years and normal BMI). In addition there was no risk fac.or for an ec.opic.loc.tion of the pregnanc.. We disc.ss the role of the mic.o progestative in the loc.tion of the pregnanc.. This c.se report emphasizes the fac. that ec.opic.pregnanc. should not be ruled out in women taking this c.ntrac.ption, however effic.ent it is otherwise.

The present study c.nc.rns the revalorization of drained water from aquac.lture ponds rearing c.arias gariepinus on okra c.ops. The rearing was c.rried out at the farm of Gaston Berger University in 100 m2 ponds. In eac. pond, the individuals of c. garipinus with an average weight of 6 ± 0.3 g were stoc.ed at a density of 11 per m2. The water temperature and pH were measured during the experiment. The c.ntrol fishing is c.rried out every month to monitor variations in the weight and size of reared individuals. The plant produc.ion is c.rried out in elementary plots measuring 3 m × 1.5 m. Eac. plot was fertilized with either: drained water from c. gariepinus rearing (DWc., poultry droppings (PD), c.w dung (c.) and mineral fertilizer (NPK). Treatments are c.rried out in tripliqua with either river water (RW), RW + the rec.mmended dose of NPK (RD-NPK), RW + RD-PD, RW + RD-c., DWc. DWc.+ 25% RD-NPK, DWc.+ 50% RD-NPK, DWc.+ 75% RD-NPK, DWc.+ 25% RD-PD, DWc.+ 50% RD-PD, DWc.+ 75% RD-PD, DWc.+ 25% RD-c., DWc.+ 50% RD-c., DWc.+ 75% RD-c.. Growth parameters and yield of okra were determined. The average temperature in the rearing environment was 27.6 ± 1.5˚c.and pH 7.9 ± 1.1. After six (06) months of rearing, c. gariepinus individuals reac.ed an average weight of 850.12 ± 1.3 g and an average height of 52.44 ± 1.1 c.. The daily weight gain and spec.fic.growth rates over this period were 3.9 g per day and 2.8% per day, respec.ively. The treatment T1 (RW + DR-NPK) gave the highest mean c.llar diameter and mean plant height with 2.3 ± 0.9 c. and 61.6 ± 32 c., respec.ively. In T4 (DWc., the mean height of plants was 38.8 ± 23.5 c. and mean c.llar diameter 1.4 ± 0.8 c.. The growth performanc. in T4 was c.mparable to that of RD-c. (T3), but different from RD-NPK (T1) and RD-PD (T2). The highest average number, average weight, average length and average diameter of fruits were noted in treatments T13 (RW + RD-75%c.) and T7 (DWc.+ 75% RD-NPK). Optimisation of Thermal c.mfort of Building in a Hot and Dry Tropic.l c.imate: A c.mparative Approac. between c.mpressed Earth/c.nc.ete Bloc. Envelopes

c.mpressed earth bloc.s (c.B) are an alternative to c.ment bloc.s in the c.nstruc.ion of wall masonry. However, the optimal arc.itec.ural c.nstruc.ion methods for adequate thermal c.mfort for oc.upants in hot and arid environments are not mastered. This artic.e evaluates the influenc. of arc.itec.ural and c.nstruc.ive modes of buildings made of c.B walls and c.nc.ete bloc. walls, to optimize and c.mpare their thermal c.mfort in the hot and dry tropic.l c.imate of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Two identic.l pilot buildings whose envelopes are made of c.B and c.nc.ete bloc.s were monitored for this study. The thermal models of the pilot buildings were implemented in the Sketc.Up software using an extension of EnergyPlus. The models were empiric.lly validated after c.libration against measured thermal data from the buildings. The models were used to do a parametric.analysis for optimization of the thermal performanc.s by simulating plaster c.atings on the exterior of walls, airtight openings and natural ventilation depending on external weather c.nditions. The results show that the c.B building displays 7016 hours of disc.mfort, equivalent to 80.1% of the time, and the c.nc.ete building displays 6948 hours of disc.mfort, equivalent to 79.3% of the time. The optimization by modific.tions reduc.d the disc.mfort to 2918 and 3125 hours respec.ively;i.e. equivalent to only 33.3% for the c.B building and 35.7% for the c.nc.ete building. More study should evaluate thermal optimizations in buildings in real time of usage suc. as residential buildings c.mmonly used by the loc.l middle c.ass. The use of c.B as a c.nstruc.ion material and passive means of improving thermal c.mfort is a suitable ec.logic.l and ec.nomic.l option to replac. c.mentitious material.

In c.te d’Ivoire, maize (Zea mays L) is the sec.nd most c.ltivated c.real after ric.. Sinc. the first report of Spodoptera frugiperda in c.te d’Ivoire, maize produc.ion in the northern regions has been affec.ed resulting in maize produc.ion losses. This study aims to study the seasonal dynamic.of Spodoptera frugiperda in maize fields in the sub-Sudanese zone, main zone of maize c.ltivation in c.te d’Ivoire. The study was done using pheromone trap lures. The results revealed a variation in the moth population at various growth stages during rainy and dry seasons. Notably, the highest numbers of moths were c.nsistently trapped during the whorl stage with c.unts ranging from 131 ± 35.7 during the rainy season to 70.6 ± 15.01 in the dry season. The lowest numbers of moths were observed during pod maturation, with c.unts ranging from 30.3 ± 13.05 during the rainy season to 11.7 ± 3.05 in the dry season. Between the 7th and 21st days after sowing, the c.unt of moths displayed a c.nsistent upward trajec.ory, reac.ing 188 moths during the rainy season. The damages were partic.larly observed at whorl stage. The relationship between the numbers of moths and some c.imatic.variables revealed a negative c.rrelation between moths numbers and rainfall (r= −0.44) and relative humidity (r= −0.684). In c.ntrast, there were positive relationships with temperature (r = 0.16), highlighting the signific.nt impac. of temperature c.anges on moth population dynamic.. The researc. highlights the need for integrated pest management strategies that c.nsider c.imatic.fac.ors and growth stages of maize to mitigate the impac. of this insec. pest on maize.

Experimental Assessment of the Thermal Performanc. of Two c.rrugated Metal Roofs

This experimental study is a c.ntribution to the searc. for solutions to reduc. indoor heat gain through sheet metal roofing in hot weather. It has evaluated the thermal impac. of two different sheet metal roofs inside of two identic.l test buildings in sunny weather and c.oudy weather c.nditions. Test building 1 has a single sheet c.rrugated roof and the building 2 is c.vered with roof made from top to bottom with c.rrugated sheet metal, a 12 mm thic. serpentine c.pper tube in whic. water is c.rc.lated, a sheet of aluminium foil ac.ing as a heat reflec.or, a 4 c. thic. polystyrene panel and a 1.5 c. thic. plywood. A maximum reduc.ion of 15.1˚c.in the temperature of the inner fac. of the test Building 2 roof was obtained c.mparatively to the temperature of the inner fac. of the test Building 1 roof c.nsisting of a single sheet of metal at the warmest hours. In addition, the simple c.rrugated sheet metal roof of the test building generates high and varied temperatures inside the building. Whereas the proposed heat rec.very roof favours low and relatively uniform temperatures inside the building. The proposed sheet metal roof c.nstruc.ion tec.nique is very effec.ive in reduc.ng the heat gain through the roof c.nsiderably;thus improving the thermal c.mfort inside sheet metal roofed dwellings. Hot water has been produc.d by rec.vering heat from the metal sheet of the roof of test building 2. The temperature of the hot water produc.d reac.ed of 39˚c. This study c.uld be also an alternative for the reduc.ion of energy c.nsumption due to the use of mec.anic.l means for c.oling of sheet metal roofed houses and the reduc.ion of the use of fossil fuels for domestic.hot water produc.ion.

Introduc.ion: Near-infrared fluoresc.nc. imaging is a tec.nique that will establish itself in the short term at the international level bec.use it is rec.gnized for its potential to improve the performanc. of surgic.l interventions, its moderate investment and operating c.sts and its portability. Although the tec.nology is now mature, there is c.rrently the problem of the availability of c.ntrast agents to be injec.ed IV. The aim of this methodology artic.e is to propose an alternative solution to the need for c.ntrast agents for c.inic.l researc., partic.larly in onc.logy. Methodology: They c.nsist of c.upling a fluoresc.nt marker in the form of an NHS derivative, suc. as IR DYE manufac.ured in c.mplianc. with GMP, with therapeutic.monoc.onal antibodies having marketing authorization for molec.lar imaging. For a given antibody, the marking proc.dure must be the subjec. of a validation file on the final preparation filtered on a sterilizing membrane at 0.22 μm. Onc. the proc.dure has been validated, it would be unnec.ssary to repeat the tests before eac. c.inic.l researc. examination. A c.ec. of the marking by thin-layer c.romatography (TLc. and plac. it in a sample bank at +4˚c.for 1 month of eac. injec.ed formulation would be suffic.ent for additional tests if nec.ssary. c.nc.usion: Molec.lar near-infrared fluoresc.nc. imaging is experienc.ng development, the proc.ss of whic. c.uld be ac.elerated by greater availability of c.inic.l c.ntrast agents. Alternative solutions are therefore nec.ssary to promote c.inic.l researc. in this area. These methods must be shared to make it easier for researc.ers.

Bac.ground: In c.te d’Ivoire so far, the c.rc.lating haplotypes have been inferred on the phenotypic.profiling of Sc. patients. The impac. of the c.rc.lating haplotypes on the use of Hydroxyurea has not been assessed yet. Therefore the objec.ive of this study is to identify in Abidjan the HbS haplotypes that modulate HU treatment responses. Methods: In a c.oss-sec.ional desc.iptive and analytic.l study, c.ildren aged 5 to 15 years with Sc., and c.rrying the hemoglobin phenotypes SSFA2 and SFA2, were rec.uited into a HU treatment c.hort. Various parameters on the haplotypes and the outc.mes of the treatment were analyzed. Results: Thirty nine c.ildren with Sc. were inc.uded. The phenotypic.profile of the c.hort was 86.6% of SSFA2 and 15.4% of SFA2. Three haplotypes were found, the Benin haplotype, the Senegal haplotype, and an atypic.l one. The partic.pants belonged to three genotypes, Benin/atypic.l (64.1%), Benin/Senegal (33.3%) and Senegal/Senegal (2.6%). Overall, HU treatment was suc.essful in all haplotypes with 12 out of 39 patients failing treatment after 12 months in the Benin haplotype group. The assoc.ation between HU treatment suc.ess and the Benin haplotype was found in terms of the dec.ease in the number of white blood c.lls and the students missing c.ass. c.nc.usion: The study revealed that inferring haplotype based on the phenotypic.profile c.uld be inac.urate. The proportion of atypic.l haplotype that were not previously desc.ibed in c.te d’Ivoire was high. All the haplotypes seemed to be assoc.ated with HU treatment suc.ess but some patients with Benin haplotype did not respond well.
