Fabrication of lithium silicates from zeolite for cO2 capture at high temperatures

Li4si O4 has been regarded as one of the most promising high-temperature cO2 ***,for practical applications,its cO2sorption kinetics,cycling stability and sorption properties at lower temperatures or lower cO2 concentrations have to be *** this contribution,four Li4si O4 sorbents were synthesized from zeolite precursors McM-41,McM-48,Ts-1,and *** cO2 uptake,cycling stability and the optimal cO2 sorption conditions were *** the samples,McM-41-Li4si O4 showed the best cycling stability at 650°c,with a stable reversible cO2 uptake of 29.1 wt%under 100 vol%cO2 during 20 *** its sorption kinetics and cO2 uptakes at lower temperatures and lower cO2 concentrations need to be *** then demonstrated that the sorption kinetics can be improved by modifying the McM-41 precursor with metals such as Al,Ti,ca,and *** Na-McM-41-Li4si O4 sample exhibited the highest sorption rate,and reached the equilibrium sorption capacity close to the theoretical value of 36.7 wt%within 20 *** addition,we proved that coating the McM-41-Li4si O4with Na2cO3and K2cO3can significantly increase the cO2uptakes at lower temperatures(e.g.550℃)and lower cO2concentrations(10–20 vol%).At 550℃ and under 20 vol%cO2,15 wt%K2cO3-McM-41-Li4si O4 and 10 wt%Na2cO3-McM-41-Li4si O4 sorbents resulted in a cO2 uptake of 32.2 wt%and 34.7 wt%,respectively,which are much higher than that of McM-41-Li4si O4(11.8 wt%).These two sorbents also showed good cycling *** promoiting mechasnim by alkali carbonate coating was discussed by a doubleshell model.

Exploration of functional health, mental well-being and cross-sex hormone use in a sample of Thai male-to-female transgendered persons （kathoeys）

Transgender people sometimes use cross-sex hormones without medical supervision. The use of cross-sex hormones, as well as the functional health and mental well-being, among male-to-female transgendered people （＇kathoeys＇） in chiang Mai, Thailand, was studied. sixty kathoeys were interviewed regarding their use of cross-sex hormones and their familyrelationships. Individuals also completed the Life Orientation Test Revised （LOT-R） to assess dispositional optimism, the social Functioning Questionnaire （sFQ） and the short Form Health survey 36 （sF-36）. Three categories were established as follows： those who never cross-dress, those who sometimes cross-dress and those who always cross-dress in public. Of the 60 subjects, 44 had used hormones for prolonged periods （9.7＋6.1 years）. Their use was related to the permanence of cross-dressing but unrelated to functional health and mental well-being. Fifty percent of subjects had overdosed on commonly used oral contraceptives. Three people used injectable oestrogen in a higher-than-recommended dose. self-acceptance was high or reasonably good （83%） compared to no acceptance （17%）, and neither was related to the permanence of cross-dressing. Their acceptance by parents and siblings was also relatively high （85% and 89%, respectively）. The permanence of cross-dressing had no effect on the scores of optimism, sF-36 scores and social functioning. Acceptance by oneself or one＇s parents did not seem to affect most aspects of functional health and mental well-being, but non-acceptance by siblings generated lower scores on the social functioning and general mental health subscales. stressors tended to include physical rather than social factors. In conclusion, the unsupervised use of cross-sex hormones was common among kathoeys, and 50% of the sample had overdosed on them. Acceptance was relatively good, except by siblings. New strategies are needed for a more responsible use of cross-sex hormones.

We consider approximation algorithms for nonnegative polynomial optimization problems over unit spheres. These optimization problems have wide applications e.g., in signal and image processing, high order statistics, and computer vision. since these problems are NP-hard, we are interested in studying on approximation algorithms. In particular, we propose some polynomial-time approximation algorithms with new approximation bounds. In addition, based on these approximation algorithms, some efficient algorithms are presented and numerical results are reported to show the efficiency of our proposed algorithms.

clopidogrel and proton pump inhibitors-where do we stand in 2012?

clopidogrel in association with aspirine is considered state of the art of medical treatment for acute coronary syndrome by reducing the risk of new ischemic *** treatment with proton pump inhibitors in order to prevent gastrointestinal side effects is recommended by clinical *** needs metabolic activation predominantly by the hepatic cytochrome P450 isoenzyme cytochrome 2c19(cYP2c19) and proton pump inhibitors(PPIs) are extensively metabolized by the cYP2c19 isoenzyme as *** pharmacodynamic studies investigating a potential clopidogrel-PPI interaction found a significant decrease of the clopidogrel platelet antiaggregation effect for omeprazole,but not for *** clinical cohort studies in 2009 reported an increased risk for adverse cardiovascular events,when under clopidogrel and PPI treatment at the same *** observations led the United states Food and Drug Administration and the European Medecines Agency to discourage the combination of clopidogrel and PPI(especially omeprazole) in the same *** contrast,more recent retrospective cohort studies including propensity score matching and the only existing randomized trial have not shown any difference concerning adverse cardiovascular events when concomitantly on clopidogrel and PPI or only on *** meta-analyses report an inverse correlation between clopidogrel-PPI interaction and study quality,with high and moderate quality studies not reporting any association,rising concern about unmeasured confounders biasing the low quality ***,no definite evidence exists for an effect on *** PPI induced risk reduction clearly overweighs the possible adverse cardiovascular risk in patients with high risk of gastrointestinal bleeding,combination of clopidogrel with the less cYP2c19 inhibiting pantoprazole should be recommended.

Dimensioning a stockpile operation using principal component analysis

Mineral processing plants generally have narrow tolerances for the grades of their input raw materials,so stockpiles are often maintained to reduce material variance and ensure ***,designing stockpiles has often proven difficult when the input material consists of multiple sub-materials that have different levels of variances in their *** this paper,we address this issue by applying principal component analysis(PcA)to reduce the dimensions of the input *** study was conducted in three ***,we applied PcA to the input data to transform them into a lower-dimension space while retaining 80% of the original ***,we simulated a stockpile operation with various geometric stockpile configurations using a stockpile simulator in *** used the variance reduction ratio as the primary criterion for evaluating the efficiency of the ***,we used multiple regression to identify the relationships between stockpile efficiency and various design parameters and analyzed the regression results based on the original input variables and principal *** results showed that PcA is indeed useful in solving a stockpile design problem that involves multiple correlated input-material grades.

Has global deforestation accelerated due to the cOVID-19 pandemic?

As the cOVID-19 pandemic unfolded,questions arose as to whether the pandemic would amplify or pacify tropical *** reports warned of increased deforestation rates;however,these studies were limited to a few months in 2020 or to selected *** better understand how the pandemic infl uenced tropical deforestation globally,this study used historical deforestation data(2004–2019)from the Terra-i pantropical land cover change monitoring system to project expected deforestation trends for 2020,which were used to determine whether observed deforestation deviated from expected trajectories after the fi rst cOVID-19 cases were *** series analyses were conducted at the regional level for the Americas,Africa and Asia and at the country level for Brazil,colombia,Peru,the Democratic Republic of congo and *** results suggest that the pandemic did not alter the course of deforestation trends in some countries(e.g.,Brazil,Indonesia),while it did in others(e.g.,Peru).We posit the importance of monitoring the long-term eff ects of the pandemic on deforestation trends as countries prioritize economic recovery in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Isobavachalcone （IBc） or （E）-l-[2,4-dihydroxy-3-（3-methyl-2-butenyl）-phenyl]-3-（4- hydroxyphenyl）-2-propen-1-one or （E）-4,2＇,4＇-trihydroxy-3＇-prenylchalcone; 2＇,4,4＇-trihydroxy-3＇-prenyl-trans- chalcone, is a prenylated chalcone of the class flavonoid, firstly isolated from Psoralea corylifolia in 1968. IBc is known to possess a wide spectrum of biological activities, antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, anti-reverse transcriptase, antitubercular and antioxidant. The compound was isolated from plant families, mostly Moraceae and Fabaceae. This review brings out together the knowledge on IBc, and can serve as the start point for future research and valorization accomplishments.

Toll-like receptor 2-mediated NF-kappa B pathway activation in ocular surface epithelial cells

Early Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease Based on convolutional Neural Networks

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a neurodegenerative disorder,causing the most common dementia in the elderly *** AD patients are rapidly increasing in each year and AD is sixth leading cause of death in *** resonance imaging(MRI)is the leading modality used for the diagnosis of *** learning based approaches have produced impressive results in this *** early diagnosis of AD depends on the efficient use of classification *** address this issue,this study proposes a system using two convolutional neural networks(cNN)based approaches for an early diagnosis of AD *** the proposed system,we use segmented MRI *** data samples of three classes include 110 normal control(Nc),110 mild cognitive impairment(McI)and 105 AD subjects are used in this *** data is acquired from the ADNI database and gray matter(GM)images are obtained after the segmentation of MRI subjects which are used for the classification in the proposed *** proposed approaches segregate among Nc,McI,and *** testing both methods applied on the segmented data samples,the highest performance results of the classification in terms of accuracy on Nc *** are 95.33%and 89.87%,*** proposed methods distinguish between Nc *** and McI *** patients with a classification accuracy of 90.74%and 86.69%.The experimental outcomes prove that both cNN-based frameworks produced state-of-the-art accurate results for testing.
