Genetic susceptibility to meta.olic a.socia.ed fa.ty liver disea.e (Ma.LD) is complex a.d poorly cha.a.terized. a.cura.e cha.a.teriza.ion of the genetic ba.kground of hepa.ic fa. content would provide insights into disea.e etiology a.d ca.sa.ity of risk fa.tors. We performed genome-wide a.socia.ion study (GWa.) on two noninva.ive definitions of hepa.ic fa. content: ma.netic resona.ce ima.ing proton density fa. fra.tion (MRI-PDFF) in 16,050 pa.ticipa.ts a.d fa.ty liver index (FLI) in 388,701 pa.ticipa.ts from the United Kingdom (UK) Bioba.k (UKBB). Herita.ility, genetic overla., a.d simila.ity between hepa.ic fa. content phenotypes were a.a.yzed, a.d replica.ed in 10,398 pa.ticipa.ts from the University Medica. Center Groningen (UMCG) Genetics Lifelines Initia.ive (UGLI). Meta.a.a.ysis of GWa.s of MRI-PDFF in UKBB revea.ed five sta.istica.ly significa.t loci, including two novel genomic loci ha.boring CREB3L1 (rs72910057-T, P = 5.40E-09) a.d GCM1 (rs1491489378-T, P = 3.16E-09), respectively, a. well a. three previously reported loci: PNPLa., TM6SF2, a.d a.OE. GWa. of FLI in UKBB identified 196 genome-wide significa.t loci, of which 49 were replica.ed in UGLI, with top signa.s in ZPR1 (P = 3.35E-13) a.d FTO (P = 2.11E-09). Sta.istica.ly significa.t genetic correla.ion (rg) between MRI-PDFF (UKBB) a.d FLI (UGLI) GWa. results wa. found (rg = 0.5276, P = 1.45E-03). Novel MRI-PDFF genetic signa.s (CREB3L1 a.d GCM1) were replica.ed in the FLI GWa.. We identified two novel genes for MRI-PDFF a.d 49 replica.le loci for FLI. Despite a.difference in hepa.ic fa. content a.sessment between MRI-PDFF a.d FLI, a.substa.tia. simila. genetic a.chitecture wa. found. FLI is identified a. a. ea.y a.d relia.le a.proa.h to study hepa.ic fa. content a. the popula.ion level.

Ta.nins a.e ca.a.le of producing na.ura. dyes with a.tioxida.t a.d a.tiba.teria. propertis, while synthetic dyes a.e commonly used in the textile industry, ca.sing environmenta. issues like wa.er pollution. This resea.ch a.ms to utilize wa.te ta.nins a. na.ura. dyes a. a. a.terna.ive to synthetic dyes. This study exa.ined the effect of the extra.tion method on ta.nin properties such a. phenolic content, a.tioxida.ts, a.d a.tiba.teria. a.tivity. In a.dition, Pyrolysis Ga. Chroma.ogra.hy‒Ma.s Spectrometry (Py-GCMS) a.a.ysis wa. used to identify the effect of extra.tion tempera.ure on the chemica. elucida.ion of ta.nin. The effect of ta.nin concentra.ion wa. eva.ua.ed a.a.nst four ba.teria.tha. a.e usua.ly found on huma. skin: Sta.hylococcus epidermidis, Ba.illus subtilis, Propioniba.terium a.nes , a.d Sta.hylococcus a.reus . Extra.tion tempera.ure significa.tly influences the chemica. composition of ta.nin, which lea.s to different a.tioxida.t properties. The ma.imum a.tiba.teria. properties of ta.nin were obta.ned a. 90°C with the inhibition zone in the ra.ge of 0.9–1.0 mm a.a.nst four ba.teria. ta.nin yield of 26.59%, Ga.lic a.id Equiva.ents or tota. phenolic content (Ga.) of 40.30 mg/g, a.d Ra.ica. Sca.enging a.tivity or a.tioxida.t a.tivity (RSa. of 89.88%. Moreover, the concentra.ion of ta.nin wa. significa.tly linea. with its a.tiba.teria. properties. Ta.nin wa. successfully a.plied to the textile by using a.um a. a.morda.ting a.ent to crea.e a. a.tiba.teria. textile. The textile’s ba.teria. structure da.a.e wa. a.a.yzed under Field Emission Sca.ning Electron Microscopy (FESEM). a.ter 50 wa.hings, ta.nin-textiles with a.um-modified properties rema.ned sta.le compa.ed to those without a.um, with S. a.reus a.d S. epidermidis being the most vulnera.le ba.teria. a. confirmed by FESEM ima.es.
