Determining an optimal control strategy for anthropogenic VOC emissions in China based on source emissions and reactivity

An evidence-based control strategy for emission reduction of VOC sources can effectively solve the regional PM2.5and O3compound pollution in China.We estimated the anthropogenic VOC emission inventory in China in 2018 and established a source profile database containing 129 sources based on localized detection and the latest research results.Then,the distribution of the ozone formation potential(OFP)and secondary organic aerosol formation potential(SOAFP)for emission sources was analyzed.Moreover,priority control routes for VOC emission sources were proposed for different periods.Anthropogenic VOC emissions in China reached 27,211.8 Gg in 2018,and small passenger cars,industrial protective coatings,biomass burning,heavy trucks,printing,asphalt paving,oil storage and transportation,coking,and oil refining were the main contributors.Industrial protective coatings,small passenger cars,and biomass burning all contributed significantly to OFP and SOAFP.Priority in emission reduction control should be given to industrial protective coatings,small passenger cars,heavy trucks,coking,printing,asphalt paving,chemical fibers,and basic organic chemical sources over the medium and long term in China.In addition,the priority control route for VOC emission sources should be adjusted according to the variations in VOC emission characteristics and regional differences,so as to obtain the maximum environmental benefits.

Networked cyber-physical systems are facing serious security threats from malicious attacks.It is noted that the networked cyber-physical system should take defense measures into account at the beginning of its construction.From the conservative defensive perspective,this paper proposes a robust optimal defense resource allocation strategy to reduce the maximum possible losses of the networked cyber-physical system caused by potential attacks.Then,based on the robust optimal allocation strategy,it can be proved that the topology of the networked cyber-physical system has a great influence on the loss function.In order to further improve security,the effects of adding redundant connections are investigated.Furthermore,by taking geographical knowledge into account,a hexagonal construction scheme is proposed for providing a geographically-feasible and economically-viable solution for building networked cyber-physical systems,where the loss function has a cubic decay.

A Robust Indoor Localization Algorithm Based on Polynomial Fitting and Gaussian Mixed Model

Wireless sensor network(WSN)positioning has a good effect on indoor positioning,so it has received extensive attention in the field of positioning.Non-line-of sight(NLOS)is a primary challenge in indoor complex environment.In this paper,a robust localization algorithm based on Gaussian mixture model and fitting polynomial is proposed to solve the problem of NLOS error.Firstly,fitting polynomials are used to predict the measured values.The residuals of predicted and measured values are clustered by Gaussian mixture model(GMM).The LOS probability and NLOS probability are calculated according to the clustering centers.The measured values are filtered by Kalman filter(KF),variable parameter unscented Kalman filter(VPUKF)and variable parameter particle filter(VPPF)in turn.The distance value processed by KF and VPUKF and the distance value processed by KF,VPUKF and VPPF are combined according to probability.Finally,the maximum likelihood method is used to calculate the position coordinate estimation.Through simulation comparison,the proposed algorithm has better positioning accuracy than several comparison algorithms in this paper.And it shows strong robustness in strong NLOS environment.

A novel photo-catalytic system composed of N-doped biochars(NBCs),MnFe_(2)O_(4) and sulfite activation under ultraviolet(NBCs/MnFe_(2)O_(4)/sulfite/UV)was constructed to realize the efficient eliminate of tetracycline(TC).As the carrier of MnFe_(2)O_(4),NBCs were synthesized from alfalfa,which has large specific surface area,graphite like structure and hierarchical porous structure.The adsorption isotherm indicated that NBCs/MnFe_(2)O_(4)-2:1 had the best adsorption performance for TC(347.56 mg g^(-1)).Through synergistic adsorption and photocatalysis,the removal rate of TC reached 84%,which was significantly higher than that of MnFe_(2)O_(4).Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)and Photoluminescence(PL)characterization results showed that the introduction of NBCs improved the separation efficiency of photogenerated electron and hole pairs and enhanced the photocatalytic performance.Moreover,the adsorption,degradation mechanism and degradation path of TC by the catalyst were systematically analyzed by coupling HPLC–MS measurement with the theoretical calculation.Considering the advantages of excellent degradation performance,low cost,easy separation and environmental friendliness of NBCs/MnFe_(2)O_(4),this work was expected to provide a new path for the practical application of biochar.

Linguistic landscape and its impacts on place-making in mountain destination:A case of Mogan Mountain Town of Huzhou City,China

The place and placeness are believed to be a crucial perspective for comprehending the transformative dynamics of tourist destinations in the context of globalization and the rapid development of the tourism industry.As the material carrier of language,linguistic landscape is an intermediary for people to endow emotions and personalities into the place,becoming an effective path for exploring the place-making in a certain area.Mogan Mountain is a famous national tourist resort,which is located in Mogan Mountain Town,Deqing County,Huzhou City,China.This is a good case area for studying the relationship between linguistic landscape and placemaking in tourist destinations.There are two theories that form the theoretical foundation of the study,namely the place and the geosemiotics.Firstly,the results showed the overall style of the linguistic landscape.Multilingual labelling(52.7%),official signs(55.3%),and standardized Chinese characters predominantly shaped the linguistic landscape,with English and other languages being complementary.Secondly,from the perspective of three dimensions of the geosemiotics framework,such as inscription,language preference,and placement position,we conduct a comprehensive semiotic analysis of the linguistic landscape,which encompasses diverse facets such as fonts,materials,shifts in state,text vectors,and symmetrical arrangements.Finally,we explore the influence of linguistic landscapes on the place-making of Mogan Mountain through the dimensions of location,locale,and sense of place.The information on linguistic landscapes indicates the geographical location.These linguistic landscapes play an important role in constructing the language order,nostalgic atmosphere,exotic atmosphere,and elegant and tasteful lifestyle of the public space in Mogan Mountain.Readers of linguistic landscapes,including tourists and residents,generate and identify with the unique sense of place in Mogan Mountain.These linguistic landscapes construct the destination placeness of Mogan Mountain that combines bot

This paper proposes a sliding-mode disturbance observer(SMDOB)-based tracking controller for a class of nonlinear systems with modeling uncertainties and external disturbances. The SMDOB is constructed using an extended state observer embedded by a filtered sliding mode term. The chattering caused by the sliding mode is compressed by the frequency bandwidths of both the extended state observer and the control system. The novelties of the proposed controller are as follows:(1) The semiglobal asymptotical stability of the combined controller-observer system is guaranteed without the boundedness assumption of the time derivatives of modeling uncertainties;(2) the SMDOB can be implemented with a low complexity because of only three parameters to be tuned. Applications to robot manipulators illustrate the effectiveness of the SMDOB-based tracking control strategy.

Iliac Vein Compression Syndrome in an Asymptomatic Patient Population： A Prospective Study

Background： Iliac vein compression syndrome （1VCS） is an important cause of deep vein thrombosis, but the incidence oflVCS is still unclear. The purpose of this prospective study was to determine the incidence of IVCS in an asymptomatic patient population and to evaluate the risk factors in patients with and without 1VCS. Methods： From October 2011 to November 2012, a total of 500 patients （228 women and 272 men; mean age of 55.4 ± 14.7 years） with no vascular-related symptoms were enrolled in this study. Computed tomography was performed to evaluate all patients. The degree of venous compression was calculated as the diameter of the common iliac vein at the site of maximal compression divided by the mean diameter of the uncompressed proximal and caudal left common iliac vein （LCIV）. We compared the stenosis rate of the common iliac vein in women and men according to age and followed up patients to evaluate outcomes. Results： The mean compression degree of the LCIV was 16% （4%, 36%）： 37.8% of patients had a compression degree ≥25% and 9.8% had a compression degree ≥50%. There was a significant difference between men and women in the LCIV compression degree （9% [3%, 30%] vs. 24% [8%, 42%]; U = 4.66, P 〈 0.01）. In addition, the LCIV compression degree among younger women （≤40 years） was significantly different compared with that in older women （〉40 years）（42% [31%, 50%] vs. 19% [5%, 39%]; U = 5.14, P 〈 0.001 ）. Follow-up was completed in 367 patients with a mean follow-up of 39.5 months （range, 6-56 months）. The incidence of IVCS in the follow-up period was 1.6%. Stenosis rate and the diameter of the site of maximal compression correlated with the incidence of IVCS. Multivariable Cox regression analysis showed that the stenosis rate was an independent risk factor of IVCS （Wald x2 = 8.84, hazard ratio = 1.13, P 〈 0.001 ）. Conclusions： The incidence of IVCS was low and correlated with the stenosis rate ofiliac vein. Preventative therapy may be warranted for common iliac vein compression in patients at an increased r

Furthermore, studies show that loud snorers have a 67%greater chance of suffering from a stroke and a 34%higher risk of having a heart attack. Pneumatic artificial muscles(PAMs)usually exhibit strong hysteresis nonlinearity and time-varying features that bring PAMs modeling and control difficulties.To characterize the hysteresis relation between PAMs’displacement and fluid pressure,a long short term memory(LSTM)neural network model and an adaptive Takagi-Sugeno(T-S)fuzzy model are proposed.Experiments show that both models perform well under the load free conditions,and the adaptive T-S Fuzzy model can furtherly adapt to the change of load with the online adaptation ability.With the concise expression and satisfactory performance of the adaptive T-S Fuzzy model,a model predictive controller is designed and tested.Experiments show that the model predictive controller has a good performance on tracking the given references.
