miRACA： A database for miRNAs associated with cancers and age related disorders （ARD）

BACKGROUND： With the given diversity and abundance of several targets of miRNAs, they functionally appear to interact with several elements of the multiple cellular networks to maintain physiologic homeostasis. They can function as tumor suppressors or oncogenes, whose under or overexpression has both diagnostic and prognostic significance in various cancers while being implicated as prospective regulators of age-related disorders （ARD） as well. Establishing a concatenate between ARD and cancers by looking into the insights of the shared miRNAs may have a practical relevance. METHODS： In the present work, we performed network analysis of miRNA-disease association and miRNA-target gene interaction to prioritize miRNAs that play significant roles in the manifestation of cancer as well as ARD. Also, we developed a repository that stores miRNAs common to both ARD and cancers along with their target genes. RESULTS： We have comprehensively curated all miRNAs that we found to be shared in both the diseases in the human genome and established a database, miRACA （Database for microRNAs Associated with Cancers and ARD） that currently houses information of 1648 miRNAs that are significantly associated with 38 variants supported with pertinent data. It has been made available online at http：//***/miraca/for easy retrieval and utilization of data by the scientific community. CONCLUSION： To the best of our knowledge, our database is the first attempt at compilation of such data. We believe this work may serve as a significant resource and facilitate the analysis of miRNA regulatory mechanisms shared between cancers and ARD to apprehend disease etiology.

Drivers and barriers to energy-efficient technologies(EETs)in EU residential buildings

To achieve carbon targets,the European Union(EU)aims to promote nearly zero-energy buildings(nZEB).To enable the necessary transition,technical solutions need to converge with socio-economic factors,such values and awareness of stakeholders involved in the decision-making *** this light,the aim of this paper is to characterise perceived drivers and barriers to nine energy-efficient technologies(EET),according to key decision-makers’and persuaders of the technology selection in the EU residential building *** are collected across eight EU countries,***(BE),Germany(DE),Spain(ES),France(FR),Italy(IT),Netherlands(NL),Poland(PL),and United Kingdom(UK).The stakeholders’selected are architects,construction companies,engineers,installers and demand-side *** from a multi-country survey is analysed to calculate the share of 15 drivers and 21 barriers(aggregated to 5 groups),being selected for each EET and *** 5 groups considered to analyse drivers and barriers are environmental,technical,economic,social,*** perceived barriers and drivers were further studied for their association across the countries using the Pearson’s Chi2 and a Cramer’s V *** results demonstrate that across all EETs and countries,the technical and economic driver groups are perceived to have the highest potential to increase the implementation rate of *** terms of barriers,economic aspects are seen as the foremost reason that EET are not scaling *** both drivers and barriers legal aspects are the least often *** overall the barrier groups show significant variation across countries compared to driver *** findings provide an evidence-basis to better understand arguments in favour and against specific EETs and,in this way,support policy makers and other interested parties to increase the market share of the selected solutions.

Global warming and climate change are two key probing issues in the present *** electricity sector and transportation sector are two principle entities propelling both these *** from these two sectors can be offset by switching to greener ways of transportation through the electric vehicle (EV) and renewable energy technologies (RET).Thus,effective scheduling of both resources holds the key to sustainable *** paper presents a scheduling scenario-based approach in the smart *** formulation with dual objective function including both emissions and cost is developed for conventional unit commitment with EV and RET *** this work,the scheduling and commitment problem is solved using the fireworks algorithm which mimics explosion of fireworks in the sky to define search space and the distance between associated sparks to evaluate global ***,binary coded fireworks algorithm is developed for the proposed scheduling problem in the smart ***,possible scenarios inconventional as well as smart grid are put *** that,the proposed methodology is simulated using a test system with thermal generators.

Neurocysticercosis is the most common neuro-parasitosis caused by the larval stage of Taenia *** most common manifestations include seizures and *** abnormalities are relatively rare but depressive symptoms are frequent in patients with ***,mania as a presentation is relatively *** and the postpartum period are relatively vulnerable times and they can lead to reactivation of existing neurocysterci *** are discussing the case of a 23-year old female patient with neurocysticercosis leading to the reactivation of lesions in the peripartum and postpartum period leading to bipolar affective *** in the patient was seen with a combination of antipsychotics,antihelmintics,antiepileptics and steroids,along with improved radiological signs of neurocysterci *** neurocysticercosis is a common illness,its prevalence presenting as a manic episode is merely 2.6%and,hence,missed ***,it is important to rule out organic aetiology in patients even with a classic presentation of bipolar affective disorder and those having any other neurological symptoms and signs.

A Multiple Emission Constrained Approach for Self-scheduling of GENCO Under Renewable Energy Penetration

The electric sector contributes substantially to both greenhouse gas(GHG)and non-greenhouse gas(NGHG)emissions,which means that both conventional and thermal generation companies(GENCOs)must follow certain environmental guidelines to address various emission *** paper presents a methodology to investigate the feasibility of both GHG and NGHG emission reduction in a deregulated electricity *** proposed model takes into consideration the effect of NGHG emission cost constraints in conjunction with classical GHG emission constraints for the scheduling aspects of GENCO.A profit based self-scheduling problem with conventional fossil fueled generators and renewable energy technologies(RETs)is formulated including emission penalties and avoidance costs of GHG and NGHG emissions,***,a set of pareto solutions is evaluated for different possible scheduling scenarios.A simple,effective optimality criteria is also postulated to identify the tradeoff ***,a sensitivity analysis of various technical,environmental,as well as economic aspects is presented to examine the effect of NGHG consideration and RET inclusion in *** simulation results are presented and discussed in detail to examine the effect of NGHG consideration in self-scheduling practices of GENCO in the electricity market,thus reflecting the benefits of the proposed approach over classical emission handling approaches.

Comparative Study of Different Space-Time Coding Schemes for MC-CDMA Systems

In this paper, performance of space-time trellis-code (STTC), space-time block code (STBC), and space-time trellis-code concatenated with space-time block code (STTC-STBC) for multi-carrier code-division multiple-access (MC-CDMA) system are studied. These schemes are considered by employing different detection techniques with various multi input multi output (MIMO) antenna diversity for different number of states in multi-path fading channel. The corresponding bit error rate (BER) is obtained using simulation for minimum mean-square error (MMSE), maximum-ratio combining (MRC), and equal-gain combining (EGC) receivers employing Viterbi decoder. The simulation results show that the STTC-STBC MC-CDMA system perform better compared to other schemes considered in this paper using MMSE detection and it is also observed that the performance can also be enhanced by increasing diversity using more transmitter and receiver antennas. However, this improvement in performance comes at the cost of increased computational complexity, which is calculated for different transmitting and receiving antennas.

Influence of Hot Band Annealing and Cold Rolling on Texture and Ridging of 430 Stainless Steel Containing Aluminum

An approach to optimize the processing parameters to get superior ridging resistance and mechanical properties in commercial production of 430 ferritic stainless steel has been studied. Attention was also paid to improve productivity and energy saving without hampering the surface and mechanical property aspects of the material. Hot rolled coils annealed by slow cooling under insulated cover exhibit better ridging resistance than bell annealing treatment with a minor decrease in ductility. Soaking temperature prior to hot rolling has a significant effect on ridging resistance.

Microscopic Structure of NaCd Compound Forming Binary Molten Alloys

A simple statistical mechanical theory based on compound formation model (compound Aμ Bv formed by the preferential arrangement of A and B constituent atoms of the alloy AB, μA + νB ≒ Aμ Bv) has been used to investigate the phenomena of compound formation in NaCd liquid alloys through the study of concentration fluctuation in the long wavelength region [Scc(0)] and chemical short range order parameter (α1). The study explains the observed asymmetry successfully and suggest the existence of Cd2Na complex in the melt. The tendency of compound has been found to be weak. A tendency of inversion from segregation to order although very small, has been observed, in NaCd liquid alloys.
