Resistance to cancer therapy continues to be a major limitation for the successful treatment of cancer. There are many published studies on therapy resistance in breast and prostate cancers; however, there are currently no data on molecular markers associated with resistance. The conflicting data were reported regarding the AKT/m-TOR signaling pathway components as markers predicting resistance. The AKT/m-TOR signaling pathway is involved in the development of many human cancers; its activation is related to cell proliferation, angiogenesis, apoptosis, as well as to therapy resistance. Molecular alterations in the AKT/m-TOR signaling pathway provide a platform to identify universal markers associated with the development of resistance to cancer therapy.

This paper devoted to finding processing methods of alkaline hydrolysate produced from rice husk pre-extraction, and discusses alkaline hydrolysate processing schemed and disengagement of some products： amorphous silica of various quality, alkaline lignin, and water and alkaline extraction polysaccharides. Silica samples were characterized： crude （air-dried）, burnt （no preliminary water treatment）, washed in distilled water, and washed in distilled water and burnt. Waste water parameters upon the extraction of solids from alkaline hydrolysate dropped a few dozens or thousand times depending on the applied processing method. Color decreased a few thousand times, turbidity was virtually eliminated, chemical oxygen demanded about 20–136 times; polyphenols content might decrease 50% or be virtually eliminated. The most prospective scheme obtained the two following solid products from rice husk alkaline hydrolysate： amorphous silica and alkaline extraction polysaccharide. Chemical oxygen demand of the remaining waste water decreased about 140 times compared to the silica-free solution.

Molecular Markers of Kidney Cancer Progression, Association with Efficiency of Pazopanib Therapy

Purpose: The aim of the study is to reveal associations between NF-κB, HIF-1alpha, vEGF expres-sions, proteasome and calpain activities with tumor progression in patients with kidney cancers and to find molecular parameters, associated with the effective pazopanib therapy. 93 patients with clear cell kidney cancers are included in investigation. 26 patients with disseminated kidney cancer have the pazopanib therapy. Methods: Transcription factors, vEGF, vEGFR2 and p-m-TOR expression are measured by ELISA kits. Proteasome and calpain activity are determined using specific fluorogenic substrate. Results: It is found the increase of NF-κB, HIF-1 expression in cancer tissues followed the hematogenic metastasis development. Coefficient NF-κB р65/р50 and vEGF expression are increased in cancer tissues with single metastasis and are decreased in cancer tissues with multiple ones. It is observed in the low proteasome activity in metastatic cancer tissues. The partial cancer regression is revealed in 29.6% of patients treated with pazopanib, cancer stabilization—in 61.5% of patients and cancer progression—in 11.5% of patients. The increased level of transcription factors NF-κB, HIF-1, growth factor vEGF and high proteasome activity in cancer tissues before targeted therapy are associated with the effective treatment. It is obtained the significant decrease of investigated markers after pazopanib application in metastatic kidney cancer patients. Conclusion: Coefficient NF-κB р65/р50, vEGF expression and proteases activities are the potential prognostic molecular markers of hematogenic metastasis development in kidney cancers. NF-κB, HIF-1 and vEGF levels can be considered as additional molecular markers predicting the effective pazopanib therapy.

The polycondensation of the mixture of diamines 5,5-methylene bis(2-aminophenol) and 4,4-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)dianiline(molar ratio 0.8:0.2) with isophthaloyl dichloride was used to synthesize poly(amido-o-hydroxy amide)(POA-F)-new heat resistant binder of the composites for microelectronics. The copolymer was fractionated, its hydrodynamic, optical, and conformational properties were researched, and molecular masses(ММ) of the fractions were defined. The polydispersity index was estimated. Based on experimental data, calculation of the size of a segment of Kuhn characterizing degree of an intramolecular orientation order and value of coefficients of the equation of Mark-Kuhn-Hauvink for viscometric and diffusion data were performed. It was demonstrated that introducing 20 mol % of the monomer with-CF3-groups does not lead to any changes in conformational properties of the macromolecules and does not change the degree of intramolecular orientational order(the Kuhn segment length). Optical characteristics of POA-F solutions are virtually similar to the corresponding values for POA prepared with the use of single amine-containing component-5,5-methylene bis(2-aminophenol). The received MM distribution for POA-F(prepolymer) provided the solubility of its films in alkaline solutions. The heat resistance(τ5 and τ10-temperatures corresponding to 5% and of 10% PBO-F mass loss of a polymer) of the powders and the films of PBO, PBO-F were determined. The electrophysical parameters-dielectric permittivity(ε) and dielectric loss tangent(tan δ) of the PBO-F films decreased down to 3.30 and 0.017, in comparison 3.40 and 0.025 for PBO respectively.

Plagioclase is the major rock-forming mineral constituting the Earth's crust,whereas anorthite(CaAl_(2)Si_(2)O_(8))is a common minerals in lunar highlands crust,meteorites,possibly in some comets and on *** anorthite,two high-temperature polymorphs of CaAl_(2)Si_(2)O_(8)are known:dmisteinbergite and svyatoslavite,which are found in burnt coal dumps,meteorites and *** we present the results of detailed studies(quenching experiments,elemental analysis,Raman spectroscopy and in situ high temperature single crystal X-ray diffraction(up to 1000℃))on naturally co-occurring CaAl_(2)Si_(2)O_(8)polymorphs(anorthite,dmisteinbergite and svyatoslavite)from a burnt coal dump in Kopeisk,*** polymorphs were found in all natural samples and obtained upon heating of dmisteinbergite(unquenchableβ-dmisteinbergite and quenchable y-dmisteinbergite).It was shown that Ca coordination differs significantly in CaAl_(2)Si_(2)O_(8)polymorphs,resulting in a different capacity to host Ba and possibly other large ion lithophile *** our data on natural samples with the previously published data on natural and synthetic compounds,we propose a new scheme of CaAl_(2)Si_(2)O_(8)polymorphs *** results indicate that CaAl_(2)Si_(2)O_(8)polymorphs could be used for temperature estimations for both Earth and planetary sciences.

The grain of rye(Secale cereale L.) used for baking contains a large amount of non-starch polysaccharides,making it an excellent component of functional foods. But rye grain intended for alcohol production and forage use should have a reduced content of these polysaccharides. A comprehensive parameter that can predict the best field of application for winter rye grain is the viscosity of its wholemeal water ***, our understanding of the genetic background underlying this key trait and associated features of rye grain is poor. By analyzing six Russian winter rye cultivars, we identified the most contrasting forms and characterized the peculiarities of their water-soluble carbohydrates capable of influencing the viscosity of water extracts. Then, using phylogenetic and transcriptomic analyses, we identified in the rye genome many genes encoding putative glycosyltransferases and glycosylhydrolases responsible for the synthesis and degradation of arabinoxylans, mixed-linkage glucans, cellulose, and some other polysaccharides. We determined the dynamics of m RNA abundance for these genes at three stages of kernel development. Comparisons of gene expression levels in two contrasting cultivars revealed specific members of multigene families that may serve as promising targets for manipulating non-starch polysaccharide content in rye grain. High-viscosity cultivars were characterized by up-regulation of many glycosyltransferases involved in the biosynthesis of arabinoxylans and other cell-wall polysaccharides,whereas low-viscosity cultivars showed up-regulation of several genes encoding polysaccharidedegrading enzymes.

Recsod? has been used for treating epilepsy and ophthalmological disease. Oxidative stress has been demonstrated to be a pathogenic chain of these diseases. Parameters of pro- and antioxidant systems were studied in all the patients treated. Recsod? drug was shown to produce positive effect in all the patients. Improvement of patients’ clinical condition correlated with an increase in antioxidant activities. Antioxidants, in particular, the recombinant human SOD drug, proved to be effective in treatment of some neurological and ophthalmological diseases.

Meso-Cenozoic Evolution of Earth Surface System under the East Asian Tectonic Superconvergence

The East Asian geological setting has a long duration related to the superconvergence of the Paleo-Asian, Tethyan and Paleo-Pacific tectonic domains. The Triassic Indosinian Movement contributed to an unified passive continental margin in East Asia. The later ophiolites and I-type granites associated with subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate in the Late Triassic, suggest a transition from passive to active continental margins. With the presence of the ongoing westward migration of the Paleo-Pacific Subduction Zone, the sinistral transpressional stress field could play an important role in the intraplate deformation in East Asia during the Late Triassic to Middle Jurassic, being characterized by the transition from the E-W-trending structural system controlled by the Tethys and Paleo-Asian oceans to the NE-trending structural system caused by the Paleo-Pacific Ocean subduction. The continuously westward migration of the subduction zones resulted in the transpressional stress field in East Asia marked by the emergence of the Eastern North China Plateau and the formation of the Andean-type active continental margin from late Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous （160-135 Ma）, accompanied by the development of a small amount of adakites. In the Late Cretaceous （135-90 Ma）, due to the eastward retreat of the Paleo-Pacific Subduction Zone, the regional stress field was replaced from sinistral transpression to transtension. Since a large amount of late-stage adakites and metamorphic core complexes developed, the Andean-type active continental margin was destroyed and the Eastern North China Plateau started to collapse. In the Late Cretaceous, the extension in East Asia gradually decreased the eastward retreat of the Paleo-Pacific subduction zones.
