Micropulse transscleral laser therapy for secondary angle-closure glaucoma in nanophthalmos: a case report

Dear Editor,The choice of surgical intervention for nanophthalmos patients with secondary angle-closure glaucoma poses a challenging decision for *** nanophthalmos patients who have undergone filtration surgery or other intraocular procedures are more susceptible to severe complications,including choroidal effusion,malignant glaucoma,and explosive choroidal hemorrhage,all of which can lead to vision loss[1].This dilemma is particularly pronounced in patients with shorter axial *** transscleral laser therapy(M-TLT),also known as micropulse transscleral cyclophotocoagulation(MP-TSCPC),is a nonincisional laser therapy surgery for glaucoma[2].In 2015,Golan and Kurtz[3]were the first to report four patients with secondary angle-closure glaucoma in nanophthalmos with axial lengths ranging between 17 and 19 mm(mean 18 mm)who were successfully treated with M-TLT,and choroidal detachment was observed in all patients(recovery spontaneously in two patients and recovery after systemic steroid treatment in the other two),of which two had a slight decrease in visual acuity.

Stalk related traits, comprising plant height （PH）, ear height （EH）, internode number （IN）, average internode length （ALL）, stalk diameter （SD）, and ear height coefficient （EHC）, are significantly correlated with yield, density tolerance, and lodging resistance in maize. To investigate the genetic basis for stalk related traits, a doubled haploid （DH） population derived from a cross between NX531 and NX110 were evauluated under two densities over 2 yr. The additive quantitative trait loci （QTLs）, epistatic QTLs were detected using inclusive composite interval mapping and QTL-by-environment interaction were detected using mixed linear model. Differences between the two densities were significant for the six traits in the DH population. A linkage map that covered 1 721.19 cM with an average interval of 10.50 cM was constructed with 164 simple sequence repeat （SSR）. Two, two, seven, six, two, and eight additive QTLs for PH, IN, AIL, EH, SD, and EHC, respectively. The extend of their contribution to penotypic variation ranged from 10.10 to 31.93%. Seven QTLs were indentified simultaneously under both densities. One pair, two pairs and one pair of epistatic effects were detected for AIL, SD and EHC, respectively. No epistatic effects were detected for PH, EH, and IN. Nineteen QTLs with environment interactions were detected and their contribution to phenotypic variation ranged from 0.43 to 1.89%. Some QTLs were stably detected under different environments or genetic backgrounds comparing with previous studies. These QTLs could be useful for genetic improvement of stalk related traits in maize breeding.

AIM:To evaluate the clinical significance of checking episcleral venous fluid wave(EVFW)during gonioscopyassisted transluminal trabeculotomy(GATT)in patients with open angle glaucoma(OAG).METHODS:This retrospective case series study comprised 30 patients(45 eyes)with OAG underwent *** location and extent of EVFW were examined and graded after intraoperative compression flushing of the anterior chamber angle during the *** were followed up for 1y.A complete success for surgery is defined as a postoperative intraocular pressure(IOP)<18 mm Hg without any anti-glaucoma ***<18 mm Hg with less than two anti-glaucoma medications is defined as qualified success,while the control of IOP requiring three anti-glaucoma medications is considered as ***:The mean IOP was 35.38±7.16 mm Hg before surgery and 15.52±4.22 mm Hg 1y after surgery(P<0.01).The average number of anti-glaucoma medication was 2.8±1.2(2-4)preoperation and 0.6±1.3(0-3)1y postoperation(P<0.01).The success rate of the operation was 93.33%.Complete success rate was 66.67%,qualified success rate was 26.67%,and 6.66%of unsuccessful cases required *** of all cases was grade 2-4,and the percentages of grade 2,3 and 4 were 33.33%,40.0%and 26.67%,*** distribution and percentage of EVFW were inferior(36%),nasal(28%),superior(20%),and temporal(16%).The EVFW grade of complete success patients was 3.4±0.6(3-4),and that of qualified success patients was 2.6±1.0(2-4).The larger the range of EVFW,the lower the IOP,and the better the IOP reduction ***:During GATT surgery,pressurized irrigation of anterior chamber to check EVFW can reduce the outflow resistance of aqueous humor and increase the effect of postoperative *** range of EVFW is negatively correlated with postoperative ***,EVFW may be a valuable prognostic indicator for the success of GATT surgery.

Broadband photodetectors with self-driven functions have attracted intensive scientific interest due to their low energy consumption and high optical ***,high-performance broadband self-driven photodetectors are still a significant challenge due to the complex fabrication processes,environmental toxicity,high production costs of traditional 3D semiconductor materials and sharply raised contact resistance,severe interfacial recombination of 2D materials and 2D/3D mixed dimension ***,1D p-Te/2D n-Bi_(2)Te_(3) heterojunctions are constructed by the simple and low-cost hydrothermal method.1D p-Te/2D n-Bi_(2)Te_(3) devices are applied in photoelectrochemical(PEC)photodetectors,with their high performance attributed to the good interfacial contacts reducing interface *** device demonstrated a broad wavelength range(365–850 nm)with an Iph/Idark as high as *** R_(i),D^(*),and external quantum efficiency(EQE)values of the device were as high as 12.07 mA/W,5.87×10^(10) Jones,and 41.05%,respectively,which were significantly better than the performance of the prepared Bi_(2)Te_(3) and Te devices.A comparison of the freshly fabricated device and the device after 30 days showed that 1D p-Te/2D n-Bi_(2)Te_(3) had excellent stability with only 18.08%decay of *** is anticipated that this work will provide new emerging material for future design and preparation of a high-performance self-driven broadband photodetector.
