Graphite recycling from spent lithium-ion batteries for fabrication of high-performance aluminum-ion batteries

Efficient extraction of electrode components from recycled lithium-ion batteries （LIBs） and their highvalue applications are critical for the sustainable and ecofriendly utilization of resources.This work demonstrates a novel approach to stripping graphite anodes embedded with Li+from spent LIBs directly in anhydrous ethanol which can be utilized as high efficiency cathodes for aluminum-ion batteries （AIBs）.Recycled graphite （RG） with foam morphology and crystal structure defects was obtained under the action of ultrasonic peeling and gas generation reaction between residual lithium-graphite interlayer compound and ethanol.The inherent open structure of RG facilitates the intercalation/deintercalation of chloralum anions （AlCl4-） and enhances its AIB cathode performance.The electrochemical measurements revea that the RG cathode has a specific capacity of 123 m Ah·g-1at a current of 5 A·g-1,which is 1.55 times higher than tha of unprocessed natural graphite and 1.25 times higher than that of commercial artificial graphite.Additionally,the RG cathode demonstrated remarkable stability,retaining its high particular capacity of 138.15 mAh·g-1even through2000 times at 10 A·g-1in a low-cost electrolyte consisting of an ionic liquid/urea/AlCl3mixture.This work offers a novel approach to reusing of graphite anode waste materials from LIBs.

Recent advances of high-entropy electrocatalysts for water electrolysis by electrodeposition technology:a short review

Hydrogen is considered as the promising energy carrier to substitute traditional fossil fuel,due to its cleanliness,renewability and high energy density.Water electrolysis is a simple and eonvenient technology for hydrogen production.The efficiency of water electrolysis for hydrogen production is limited by the electrocatalytic performances on hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).The exorbitant Pt-and Ir-/Ru-based electrocatalysts as optimal HER and OER electrocatalysts,respectively,restrict water electrolysis development.Recently,non-precious metal-based high-entropy electrocatalysts have exhibited excellent electrocatalytic activities and long-term stabilities for water electrolysis,as promising precious cataly st candidates.Therefore,the construction of the high-entropy electroc atalysts is vital to water electrolysis industry.Electrodeposition technology is an efficient method for the preparation of high-entropy electrocatalysts due to its simple,fast,energy-saving and environmental-friendly advantages.Multi-component co-precipitation facilely occurs during the electroredox in electrodeposition processes.High-entropy alloys,oxides,(oxy)hydroxides,phosphides and phosphorus sulfide oxides have been successfully prepared by galvanostatic,potentiostatic electrodeposition,cyclic voltammetry,pulse,nanodroplet-mediated and cathodic plasma electrodeposition techniques.Hence,introduction of the development of high-entropy electrocatalysts synthesized by electrodeposition technology is significant to researchers and industries.Challenges and outlooks are also concluded to boost the industrial application of electrodeposition in water electrolysis and other energy conversion areas.

Exercise fatigue is a physiological phenomenon where the body cannot maintain a specific level after being stimulated by excessive exercise.Its five main theories include“energy depletion”,“accumulation of metabolites”,“homeostasis disorder of the internal environment”,“free radicals”,and“central nervous system protection inhibition”.The imbalance of intestinal flora caused by vigorous exercise can further lead to fatigue.Therefore,maintaining healthy intestinal flora is crucial for athlete health and performance.Recent studies have demonstrated that probiotics can regulate intestinal flora and alleviate exercise fatigue;however,there are no systematic reviews on the anti-fatigue effects of probiotics.Based on the mechanisms of exercise-induced fatigue,this article summarizes the effects and mechanisms by which probiotics combat exercise fatigue,aiming to provide research ideas for the development of probiotics that prevent exercise fatigue.

The China Space Station Telescope(CSST)is a two-meter space telescope with multiple back-end instruments.The Fine Guidance Sensor(FGS)is an essential subsystem of the CSST Precision Image Stability System to ensure the required absolute pointing accuracy and line-of-sight stabilization.In this study,we construct the Main Guide Star Catalog for FGS.To accomplish this,we utilize the information about the FGS and object information from the Gaia Data Release 3.We provide an FGS instrument magnitude and exclude variables,binaries,and high proper motion stars from the catalog to ensure uniform FGS guidance capabilities.Subsequently,we generate a HEALPix index,which provides a hierarchical tessellation of the celestial sphere,and employ the Voronoi algorithm to achieve a homogeneous distribution of stars across the catalog.This distribution ensures adequate coverage and sampling of the sky.The performance of the CSST guide star catalog was assessed by simulating the field of view of the FGS according to the CSST mock survey strategy catalog.The analysis of the results indicates that this catalog provides adequate coverage and accuracy.The catalog's performance meets the FGS requirements,ensuring the functioning of the FGS and its guidance capabilities.

无人机已广泛用于物流配送,具有快速投递和低成本的优势.针对远离仓库中心、交通受限制客户的需求,在车机并行配送模式上引入车载无人机以服务该类客户,提出多模式下的车辆和无人机联合配送模型及其路径优化问题.该模型融合了车机协同配送模型和并行配送模型,包括搭载无人机的卡车和独立的无人机舰队.在此基础上建立以最小化交付时间为优化目标的混合整数规划模型,并设计基于知识学习策略的多算子遗传算法来提高搜索效率.实验结果表明,与传统交付方式相比,车辆与无人机联合配送模型可显著减少交付时间.在大规模数据集上,改进的遗传算法表现出更好的性能.该研究成果可为解决物流配送中的复杂动态的“最后一公里”问题提供指导和参考.

We present the interstellar scintillation analysis of fast radio burst(FRB)20220912A during its extremely active episode in 2022using data from the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope(FAST).We detect a scintillation arc in the FRB’s secondary spectrum,which describes the power in terms of the scattered FRB signals’time delay and Doppler shift.The arc indicates that the scintillation is caused by a highly localized region.Our analysis favors a Milky Way origin of the ionized interstellar medium(IISM)for the localized scattering medium but cannot rule out a host galaxy origin.We present our method for detecting the scintillation arc,which can be applied generally to sources with irregularly spaced bursts or pulses.These methods could help shed light on the complex interstellar environment surrounding the FRBs and in our Galaxy.

Uncontrolled growth of lithium dendrite will lead to low Coulombic efficiency and poor cycle stability,which hinders the commercialization of lithium metal batteries.Herein,a novel modified lithium anode with reduced graphene oxide conductive network containing trace lithiophilic phosphorus(P-rGO/Cu)is prepared by electrospraying technique combined with heat treatment process.The rGO layer has a concave and undulating conductive structure,which can significantly improve the effective electrical contact between lithium metal and the current collector,speed up the kinetics of interfacial electron transport and reaction,and improve the resistance of the negative electrode to the internal stress caused by volume change of the lithium,which is advantageous for the stability of the SEI film.The extremely small and uniformly distributed red phosphorus element avoids the volume change caused by lithiation to the maximum extent.Lithiophilic two-phase compound Li_(3)P obtained by alloying P with Li can directionally induce the homogeneous nucleation and dense deposition of lithium metal,address the issue of lithium dendrites and extend the cycle life of the batteries.The obtained P-rGO/Cu exhibits excellent electrochemical performance with an average Coulombic efficiency(CE)of 98%at a current density of 1 mA·cm^(−2) for 400 cycles,and the capacity retention rate of the full cell matched with lithium iron phosphate(LFP)is 83%after 400 cycles at 1C.

Ex vivo tissue culture of the human corpus cavernosum(cc)can be used to explore the tissue structural changes and complex signaling networks.At present,artificial Cc-like tissues based on acellular or three-dimensional(3D)-printed scaffolds are used to solve the scarcity of primary penis tissue samples.However,inconvenience and high costs limit the wide application of such methods.Here,we describe a simple,fast,and economical method of constructing artificial CC-like tissue.Human Cc fibroblasts(FBs),endothelial cells(ECs),and smooth muscle cells(SMCs)were expanded in vitro and mixed with Matrigel in specific proportions.A large number of bubbles were formed in the mixture by vortexing combined with pipette blowing,creating a porous,spongy,and spatial structure.The Cc FBs produced a variety of signaling factors,showed multidirectional differentiation potential,and grew in a 3D grid in Matrigel,which is necessary for CC-like tissue to maintain a porous structure as a cell scaffold.Within the C-like tissue,ECs covered the surface of the lumen,and SMCs were located inside the trabeculae,similar to the structure of the primary Cc.Various cell components remained stable for 3 days in vitro,but the EC content decreased on the 7th day.Wingless/integrated(WNT)signaling activation led to lumen atrophy and increased tissue fibrosis in CC-like tissue,inducing the same changes in characteristics as in the primary Cc.This study describes a preparation method for human artificial cC-like tissue that may provide an improved experimental platform for exploring the function and structure of the cC and conducting drug screening for erectile dysfunction therapy.

Rationally tailored lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)with efficient and tunable delivery of mRNA in vivo are crucial for mRNA vaccines.Selective expression of antigenic protein in lymphoid tissues/organs could improve the immunostimulatory efficacy and safety of LNPs-based mRNA vaccines.Inspired by the metabolic behavior that long-chain saturated fatty acids tending to enter lymphoid tissue rather than the liver,we developed fatty acid-doped LNPs capable of mediating differential protein expressions in the liver and spleen when administered intravenously.When the molar ratio of saturated fatty acid located 60%–70%,the doped LNPs achieved the spleen selective mRNA translation.The mechanism could be attributed to the different cellular uptake behaviors of saturated fatty acids in hepatocytes.Immunization with a model antigen(ovalbumin)mRNA-loaded spleen selective LNPs,we observed enhanced antigen-specific T cell immune responses,and potent immunotherapeutic and immunoprophylactic efficacy in the mouse lymphoma model.Our natural long-chain saturated fatty acids metabolic characteristics-inspired design of LNPs for spleen-selective mRNA vaccines delivery will provide references for designing mRNA vaccines with high efficacy and safety for tumor immunotherapy.

Effects of loneliness and isolation on cardiovascular diseases:a two sample Mendelian Randomization Study

BACKGROUND Loneliness and isolation are associated with multiple cardiovascular diseases(CVDs),but there is a lack of research on whether they were causally linked.We conducted a Mendelian Randomization(MR)study to explore causal relationships between loneliness and isolation and multiple CVDs.METHODS Single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with loneliness and isolation were identified from a genome-wide association study(GWAS)of 455,364 individuals of European ancestry in the IEU GWAS database.Summary data for 15 CVDs were also obtained from the IEU GWAS database.We used three MR methods including inverse variance weighting,MR-Egger,and weighted median estimation to assess the causal effect of exposure on outcomes.Cochran's Q test and MR-Egger intercept test were used to evaluate the heterogeneity and pleiotropy.RESULTS MR analysis showed that loneliness and isolation were significantly associated with essential hypertension(OR=1.07,95%CI:1.03-1.12),atherosclerotic heart disease(OR=1.04;95%CI:1.02-1.06),myocardial infarction(OR=1.02;95%CI:1-1.04)and angina(OR=1.04;95%CI=1.02-1.06).No heterogeneity and pleiotropy effects were found in this study.CONCLUSIONS Causal relationship of loneliness and isolation with CVDs were found in this study.
