Climatologic comparison of HadISST1 and TMI sea surface temperature datasets

Two monthly datasets of sea surface temperature (SST),TMI SST retrieved from satellite observations by Remote Sensing System and HadISST1 (Hadley Centre Sea-ice and Sea-surface Temperature Data Set Version 1) derived from in situ measurements by Hadley Centre,were compared on climatologic multiple time scales over tropical and subtropical areas from 1998 to *** indicate that there is a good consistency in the horizontal global distribution,with 1.0° resolution on multi-year and multi-season mean scales between the two datasets,and also in the time series of global mean SST ***,there are still some significant differences between the ***,TMI SST is relatively higher than *** addition,the differences between the two datasets show not only remarkable regionality,but also distinct seasonal ***,the maximum departure occurs in summer,while theminimum takes place in *** all seasons,over 30% of the regions in the Tropical and Subtropical areas have a difference of more than 0.3°*** analysis of the SST anomaly field also shows that there are differences between the two datasets,where HadISST1 has more significant statistical characteristics than TMI *** the other hand,results show that the difference between the two datasets is related to the vertical structure of ocean temperatures,as well as other simultaneously retrieved parameters in TMI products,such as wind speed,water vapor,liquid cloud water and rain *** addition,large biases between HadISST1 and TMI SST are found in coastal regions,where TMI SST cannot be accurately retrieved because of polluted microwave signals.

Caveolae are a kind of specific cystic structures of lipid rafts in the cytoplasmic membrane and are rich in cholesterol and sphingolipids. In recent years, many researchers have found that both caveolins and caveolae play a role in the development of various human diseases, including coronary heart disease, hypertension, and nervous system disorders. The specific mechanisms by which caveolins induce diseases have been a topic of interest. However, a number of detailed molecular mechanisms remain poorly understood. This article focuses on the relationship between caveolin proteins and human diseases and reviews the molecular mechanisms of caveolins in disease networks.

With the high morbidity and mortality rates,cardiovascular diseases have become one of the most concerning diseases *** heart of adult mammals can hardly regenerate naturally after injury because adult cardiomyocytes have already exited the cell cycle,which subseqently triggers cardiac remodeling and heart *** a series of pharmacological treatments and surgical methods have been utilized to improve heart functions,they cannot replenish the massive loss of beating cardiomyocytes after ***,we summarize the latest research progress in cardiac regeneration and heart repair through altering cardiomyocyte fate plasticity,which is emerging as an effective strategy to compensate for the loss of functional cardiomyocytes and improve the impaired heart ***,residual cardiomyocytes in damaged hearts re-enter the cell cycle to acquire the proliferative capacity by the modifications of cell cycle-related genes or regulation of growth-related ***,non-cardiomyocytes such as cardiac fbroblasts,were shown to be reprogrammed into cardiomyocytes and thus favor the repair of damaged ***,pluripotent stem cells have been shown to transform into cardiomyocytes to promote heart healing after myocardial infarction(MI).Furthermore,in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated that environmental oxygen,energy metabolism,extracellular factors,nerves,non-coding RNAs,*** the key regulatory functions in cardiac *** fndings provide the theoretical basis of targeting cellular fate plasticity to induce cardiomyocyte proliferation or formation,and also provide the clues for stimulating heart repair after injury.

Adverse impacts of exposure to formaldehyde on human health significantly increases attention in monitoring formaldehyde concentrations in the *** formaldehyde detection methods typically rely on large and costly instruments and requires high skills of expertise,preventing it from being widely accessible to *** study introduced a novel approach utilizing smartphone-based colorimetric *** of green channel signals of digital images by a smartphone successfully capture variation of purple color of 4-amino-3-hydrazino-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazol solution,which is proportional to formaldehyde *** is because that green and purple are complimentary color pairs.A calibration curve was established between green channel signals and formaldehyde concentrations,with a correlation coefficient of *** limit of the smartphone-based method is 0.008 mg/*** errors decrease as formaldehyde concentrations increase,with median relative errors of 34％,17％,and 6％for concentration ranges of 0-0.06 mg/m3,0.06-0.12 mg/m3,and 0.12-0.35 mg/m3,*** method replaced scientific instrumentation with ordinary items,greatly reducing cost and operation *** would provide an opportunity to realize onsite measurements for formaldehyde by occupants themselves and increase awareness of air quality for better health protection.

Structural colors originated from Mie scattering of dielectric spheres can be regulated by the coupling effect between them and *** a rapid visual identification method of silver ornaments was proposed by the coupling effect of Zn O spheres with *** simulation and experimental results proved that,by coupling with different metal substrates,the Mie resonance scattering peaks of ZnO spheres with dimeter of 700 nm showed different degrees of redshift,which lead to different structural color appeared when ZnO spheres deposited on different metal surfaces with a similar appearance.A red structural color was displayed on the surface of the real silver ornament and a yellow-green structural color was shown on the surface of the cupronickel *** method is quite simple and low-cost because it only needs to spray the dispersion of ZnO spheres on the ornament *** to the mild chemical properties of the ZnO,covering and erasing ZnO spheres on the surface of silver would not corrode the silver ***,an atomizer method was used for portable and daily *** work opens new perspectives on the visual identification of silver.

A breakthrough in advancing power density and stability of carbon-based supercapacitors is trapped by inefficient pore structures of electrode ***,an ultramicroporous carbon with ultrahigh integrated capacitance fabricated via one-step carbonization/activation of dense bacterial cellulose(BC)precursor followed by nitrogen/sulfur dual doping is *** microporous carbon possesses highly concentrated micropores(~2 nm)and a considerable amount of sub-micropores(<1 nm).The unique porous structure provides high specific surface area(1554 m^2 g^-1)and packing density(1.18 g cm^-3).The synergistic effects from the particular porous structure and optimal doping effectively enhance ion storage and ion/electron *** a result,the remarkable specific capacitances,including ultrahigh gravimetric and volumetric capacitances(430 F g^-1 and 507 F cm^-3 at 0.5 A g^-1),and excellent cycling and rate stability even at a high current density of 10 A g^-1(327 F g^-1 and 385 F cm^-3)are *** compositing the porous carbon and BC skeleton,a robust all-solid-state cellulose-based supercapacitor presents super high areal energy density(~0.77 mWh cm^-2),volumetric energy density(~17.8 W L^-1),and excellent cyclic stability.

In the interaction between a tumor and the immune system,immune checkpoints play an important role,and in tumor immune escape,co-inhibitory immune checkpoints are *** checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)can enhance the immune system's killing effect on *** date,impressive progress has been made in a variety of tumor treatments;PD1/PDL1 and CTLA4 inhibitors have been approved for clinical use in some ***,glioblastoma(GBM)still lacks an effective ***,a phase III clinical trial using nivolumab to treat recurrent GBM showed no significant improvement in overall survival compared to ***,the use of immune checkpoints in the treatment of GBM still faces many ***,to clarify the mechanism of action,how different immune checkpoints play roles in tumor escape needs to be determined;which biomarkers predict a benefit from ICIs treatment and the therapeutic implications for GBM based on experiences in other tumors also need to be ***,to optimize combination therapies,how different types of immune checkpoints are selected for combined application and whether combinations with targeted agents or other immunotherapies exhibit increased efficacy need to be *** of these concerns require extensive basic research and clinical *** this study,we reviewed existing knowledge with respect to the issues mentioned above and the progress made in treatments,summarized the state of ICIs in preclinical studies and clinical trials involving GBM,and speculated on the therapeutic prospects of ICIs in the treatment of GBM.
