A series of activated carbons（ACs） were prepared using HNO_3,H_2O_2 and steam as activation agents with the aim to introduce functional groups to carbon surface in the ACs preparation *** effects of concentration of activation agent,activation time on the surface functional groups and redox property of ACs were characterized by Temperature Program Desorption（TPD） and Cyclic Voltammetry（CV）.Results showed that lactone groups of ACs activated by HNO_3 increase with activation time,and the carboxyl groups increase with the concentration of HNO_***/quinine groups of ACs activated by H_2O_2 increase with the activation time and the concentration of H_2O_2,although the acidic groups decrease with the concentration of H_2O_*** redox property reflected by CV at 0 and 0.5 V is different with any kinds of oxygen functional groups characterized by TPD,but it is consistent with the SO_2 catalytic oxidization /oxidation properties indicated by TPR.

Most nanozyme research is limited to oxidase and ***,we reported the N,P,or S doped carbon nanotubes(CNTs)for enzyme mimics of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide(NADH)oxidase and cytochrome c(Cyt c)*** the doping of N element,the NADH oxidase-like activity of CNTs is highly improved,the maximum initial velocity for N doped CNT(N-CNT)is increased by 4.28 times compared to that before the *** the analysis of NADH oxidation products,we found that biologically active NAD+was produced,the oxygen was selectively reduced to water or hydrogen peroxide,which is consistent with natural NADH ***,we found for the first time that carbon nanotubes can promote the transfer of electrons from NADH to Cyt c,thereby can mimic the properties of Cyt c reductase.

The CAS phase is a major constituent phase for the continental crust and basaltic compositions at the P-T conditions of the Earth＇s mantle, and potentially plays an important role in the geodynamic processes related to slab subduction. Its equation of state has been investigated here at ambient temperature up to about 25 GPa by using a diamond-anvil cell and synchrotron Xray radiation. Its P-V data, fitted to the third-order Birch-Murnaghan equation, yield an isothermal bulk modulus （KT） of 185 （9） GPa and first pressure derivative （ KT^t ） of 7.2 （12）. If KT^t is fixed at 4, file derived Kr is 212 （4） GPa. Additionally, the CAS phase is strongly elastically anisotropic, with its a-axis direction much less compressible than c-axis direction： Kr-a ： Kr-c = 2.19.

Objective:The objective of this study was to observe the effect of herb-partitioned moxibustion(HPM)on the gut microbiota of rats with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-D).Materials and Methods:A total of 48 male rats were randomly divided into a normal control group and an irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)model *** acetic acid irrigation and constraint stress,an IBS-D rat model was *** the model was made,the IBS rats were divided into IBS,HPM group,and pinaverium bromide(PB)*** HPM received HPM for 20 min every day,while the PB was given gastric perfusion once a day for 14 *** modeling and treatment,the abdominal withdrawal reflex,fecal character score,and fecal water content of rats were scored,and a 16S rRNA sequencing analysis was performed on the gut ***:After treatment,the fecal character score and fecal water content in the HPM increased significantly,while visceral sensitivity *** of 16S rDNA sequencing revealed that α-diversity was reduced in the IBS,and HPM could increase the diversity of *** flora structure of IBS-D rats *** can increase the abundance of probiotics such as Akkermansia and reduce the abundance of opportunistic pathogens such as Bacteroides and *** prediction analysis showed that the HPM was mainly related to the bacillary secret system,tricarboxylic acid cycle,and other ***:HPM can regulate the gut microbiota of rats with IBS-D.

Dysregulation of mi R-124 has been reported to be involved in the pathophysiology of depression. Chaihu-Shugan-San, a traditional Chinese medicine, has antidepressive activity; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, to generate a rodent model of depression, rats were subjected to a combination of solitary confinement and chronic unpredictable mild stress for 28 days. Rats were intragastrically administered Chaihu-Shugan-San（2.835 m L/kg/d） for 4 weeks, once a day. Real-time reverse-transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction, mi RNA microarray, western blot assay and transmission electron microscopy demonstrated that ChaihuShugan-San downregulated mi R-124 expression and upregulated the m RNA and protein levels of mitogen-activated protein kinase 14（MAPK14） and glutamate receptor subunit 3（Gria3）. Chaihu-Shugan-San also promoted synapse formation in the hippocampus. The open field test, sucrose consumption test and forced swimming test were used to assess depression-like behavior. After intragastric administration of Chaihu-Shugan-San, sucrose consumption increased, while the depressive behaviors were substantially reduced. Together, these findings suggest that Chaihu-Shugan-San exerts an antidepressant-like effect by downregulating mi R-124 expression and by releasing the inhibition of the MAPK14 and Gria3 signaling pathways.

Nicotine and menthol,agonists of nicotinic acetylcholine receptor(nAChR)and transient receptor potential melastatin type 8(TRPM8),serve important roles in the prevention of cell death-involved neurodegenerative ***,the potential synergistic effects of nicotine and menthol on anti-apoptotic ability are still *** the present study,the potential synergistic effects of nicotine and menthol on cisplatin or amyloidβ1-42 induced cell model of the neurodegenerative diseases were explored by assessing cell viability,TNF-αexpression,caspase-3 activation,and the collapse of mitochondrial membrane potential in human SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma *** significance was tested using Student’s t-test or one-way ANOVA with post hoc Newman-Keuls *** results showed that:Firstly,SH-SY5Y cell viability was obviously increased by the treatments with nicotine and ***,nicotine and menthol independently alleviated cisplatin or amyloidβ1-42 induced TNF-α***,nicotine and menthol abrogated the effect of cisplatin and amyloidβ25-35 on caspase-3 ***,the effect of cisplatin and amyloidβ1-42 on the collapse of mitochondrial membrane potential was efficiently attenuated by nicotine and menthol *** importantly,the inhibition of c-jun kinase(JNK)activation abolished the effect of cisplatin,and amyloidβ1-42 stimulated Bcl-xl *** these findings indicate that nicotine and menthol independently exert neuroprotective effects by upregulating Bcl-xl via JNK *** and menthol augmented Bcl-xl expression and JNK phosphorylation,and thus they are potential therapeutic targets for altering the progress of neurodegenerative diseases.

A novel method has been successfully developed for the facile and efficient removal of organic micro-pollutants(OMP)from water based on novel functional capsules encapsulating molecular-recognizable *** functional capsules are composed of ultrathin calcium alginate(Ca-Alg)hydrogel shells as semipermeable membranes and encapsulated poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylic acid-g-mono-(6-ethanediamine-6-deoxy)-β-cyclodextrin)(PNCD)nanogels withβ-cyclodextrin(CD)moieties as OMP *** semipermeable membranes of the capsules enable the free transfer of OMP and water molecules across the capsule shells,but confine the encapsulated PNCD nanogels within the *** A(BPA),an endocrine-disrupting chemical that is released from many plastic water containers,was chosen as a model OMP molecule in this *** on the host–guest recognition complexation,the CD moieties in the PNCD nanogels can efficiently capture BPA ***,the facile and efficient removal of BPA from water can be achieved by immersing the proposed functional capsules into BPA-containing aqueous solutions and then simply removing them,which is easily done due to the capsules’characteristically large size of up to several *** kinetics of adsorption of BPA molecules by the capsules is well described by a pseudo-second-order kinetic model,and the isothermal adsorption thermodynamics align well with the Freundlich and Langmuir isothermal adsorption *** regeneration of capsules can be achieved simply by washing them with water at temperatures above the volume phase transition temperature of the PNCD ***,the proposed functional capsules encapsulating molecular-recognizable nanogels provide a novel strategy for the facile and efficient removal of OMP from water.
