Analyzing the spatiotemporal evolution and driving forces of gross ecosystem product in the upper reaches of the Chaobai River Basin

The Chaobai River Basin,which is a crucial ecological barrier and primary water source area within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region,possesses substantial ecological *** gross ecosystem product(GEP)in the Chaobai River Basin is a reflection of ecosystem conditions and quantifies nature’s contributions to humanity,which provides a basis for basin ecosystem service management and *** study investigated the spatiotemporal evolution of GEP in the upper Chaobai River Basin and explored the driving factors influencing GEP spatial *** patterns from 2005 to 2020 were analyzed,and GEP was calculated for 2005,2010,2015,and *** driving factors influencing GEP spatial differentiation were identified using the optimal parameter-based geographical detector(OPGD)*** key findings are as follows:(1)From 2005 to 2020,the main ecosystem types were forest,grassland,and *** areas experienced significant changes,and conversions mainly occurred among urban,water,grassland and agricultural ecosystems.(2)Temporally,the GEP in the basin increased from 2005 to 2020,with regulation services *** the county(district)scale,GEP exhibited a north-west-high and south-east-low pattern,showing spatial differences between per-unit-area GEP and county(district)GEP,while the spatial variations in per capita GEP and county(district)GEP were similar.(3)Differences in the spatial distribution of GEP were influenced by regional natural geographical and socioeconomic *** these factors,gross domestic product,population density,and land-use degree density contributed *** among different driving forces noticeably impacted GEP spatial *** findings underscore the necessity of incorporating factors such as population density and the intensity of land-use development into ecosystem management decision-making processes in the upper reaches of the Chaobai River *** policies

Despite the promise of high flexibility and conformability of hydrogel ionic conductors,existing polymeric conductive hydrogels have long suffered from compromises in mechanical,electrical,and cryoadaptive properties due to monotonous functional improvement strategies,leading to lingering ***,we propose an all-in-one strategy for the preparation of poly(acrylic acid)/cellulose(PAA/Cel)hydrogel ionic conductors in a facile yet effective manner combining acrylic acid and salt-dissolved cellulose,in which abundant zinc ions simultaneously form strong coordination interactions with the two polymers,while free solute salts contribute to ionic conductivity and bind water molecules to prevent ***,the developed PAA/Cel hydrogel simultaneously achieved excellent mechanical,conductive,and cryogenically adaptive properties,with performances of 42.5 MPa for compressive strength,1.6 MPa for tensile strength,896.9%for stretchability,9.2 MJ m^(−3)for toughness,59.5 kJ m^(−2)for fracture energy,and 13.9 and 6.2 mS cm^(−1)for ionic conductivity at 25 and−70°C,*** by these features,the resultant hydrogel ionic conductor is further demonstrated to be assembled as a self-powered electronic skin(e-skin)with high signal-to-noise ratio for use in monitoring movement and physiological signals regardless of cold temperatures,with hinting that could go beyond high-performance hydrogel ionic conductors.

THE PULPING AND PAPERMAKING CHARACTERISTICS OF YOUNG *** AND ***

5, 10, 15, and 20 year old Larix gmelini and Betula platyphylla were used as pulping raw material in the research. The examination of young L. gmelini and B. Platyphyllafibrous structures showed that the fiber length and ratio of length to width of 5 years old L. gmelini noticeably differed from that of mature L. gmelini. but that of 5 year old B. platyphyllawere nearby equal to that of mature B. platyphylla. The research results indicated that 15 years old B. platyphylla and 20 year old L. gmelini were best suited to pulping among the eight experimental raw materials; 10 years old B. platyphylla and 15 year old L. gmelini were optimal to the ratio of beating degree increment and corresponding beating time. The pulp characteristics of 15 year old B. platyphylla and 20 year old L. gmelini were similar to those of mature wood, and it was feasible to consider 15 years to B. platyphylla and 20 years to L. gmelini as their rotation period; 10 years and 15 years as their thinning cycles for the papermaking forest base.

Studies on Relationship Between Low Temperature Exotherms and Freezing Injury in Stem Tissues and Flower Buds of Mei Flower and David's Peach

Differential thermal analysis was utilized to determine midwinter hardiness of stem tissues and flower buds of mei flower (Prunus mume) and David’s peach (Prunus davidiana). Low temperature freezing exotherms were found to occur at -35℃ in Green Calyxs’ David’s peach and -18℃ in mei flower. A Low temperature exotherm was produced by the freezing of deep supercooling water which was detected in the wood tissues but not in the bark. Freezing processes of the wood and those of the bark appeared to be independent. Deep supercooling points of both species were found to be closely related to freezing injury and to their respective distributions.

Plants have evolved diverse self-incompatibility(SI)systems for *** Darwin’s time,consid-erable progress has been made toward elucidating this unrivaled reproductive *** advances in interdisciplinary studies and applications of biotechnology have given rise to major break-throughs in understanding the molecular pathways that lead to SI,particularly the strikingly different SI mechanisms that operate in Solanaceae,Papaveraceae,Brassicaceae,and *** best-un-derstood SI systems,together with discoveries in other"nonmodel"SI taxa such as Poaceae,suggest a complex evolutionary trajectory of SI,with multiple independent origins and frequent and irreversible *** exploration of self-/nonself-discrimination signaling cascades has revealed a compre-hensive catalog of male and female identity genes and modifier factors that control *** also enable the characterization,validation,and manipulation of SI-related factors for crop improvement,helping to address the challenges associated with development of inbred ***,we review current knowledge about the evolution of SI systems,summarize key achievements in the molecular basis of pol-len‒pistil interactions,discuss potential prospects for breeding of SI crops,and raise several unresolved questions that require further investigation.

FIRE IN NORTHEAST CHINA FORESTS

Fire plays an important role in Northeast China forests. The occurrence of fires is closely related to the environmental characteristics. High temperature, drought, and strong wind in spring ( March to July ) and autumn ( September to November ) are common fire climatic characteristics in Northeast China. Based on the chemical and physical characters of fuels, fuel quantity distribution, sites as well as fire potential behaviour, fourteen fuel types have been classified in Northeast China Forest area. The fire adaptation of several main tree species has been also analysed in this paper. These species are widely distributed and of great economic significance in Northeast China. Fire use is paid much more attention recently. Fire have been employed in many silviculture practice such as firclinc creation, fuels reduction and seed bed preparation in Northeast China

The clutch size,incubation behavior of Reeves’s Pheasant(Syrmaticus reevesii) and their responses to ambient temperature and precipitation

Weather conditions play a pivotal role in embryo development and parental incubation costs,potentially impacting the clutch size and incubation behavior of *** these effects is crucial for bird ***’ s Pheasant(Syrmaticus reevesii) is a threatened species endemic to China,which is characterized by female-only ***,there is a lack of information regarding the impact of weather conditions on clutch size and incubation behavior in this *** satellite tracking,we tracked 27 wild female Reeves’ s Pheasants from 2020 to 2023 in Hubei Province,*** explored their clutch size and incubation behavior,as well as their responses to ambient temperature and *** size averaged 7.75 ±1.36,had an association with average ambient temperature and average daily precipitation during the egglaying period,and was potentially linked to female breeding *** the incubation period,females took an average of 0.73 ±0.46 recesses every 24 h,with an average recess duration of 100.80 ±73.37 min and an average nest attendance of 92.98 ±5.27%.They showed a unimodal recess pattern in which nest departures peaked primarily between 13:00 and 16:***,females rarely left nests when daily precipitation was *** duration and nest attendance were influenced by the interaction between daily mean ambient temperature and daily precipitation,as well as day of ***,there was a positive correlation between clutch size and recess *** results contribute valuable insights into the lifehistory features of this endangered species.

THE ACTIVE AFFECTS OF SHELTERBELTS ON ENVIRONMENT IN THE SEMIARID REGION OF NORTHEAST CHINA

Since the shelterbelt systems of 1,092,260 hm^2have been established for thirteenyears from 1978,have formed 526,541 networks and protected 13,619,400 hm^2 land in westernpart of Northeast region of *** to the research work we did in the last five years,the results of research project showed that the shelterbelts had improved the environmentsignificantly.A parameter of comprehensive effects of temperature,moisture and wind in thenetworks(E_c=246.52-12.17E+0.58T+6.58U)which is an active method to estimate the effects ofshelterbelt on farmland,is around 21.1-30.9mm/month improving the moisture state in dryseason,helping the crop yield increasing on the average by 19.8%.The effective accumulatedtemperature(≥10℃)incrcases by 71℃;the cropland area which suffered from wind and frostdamage decreases by 80-90%,the grass coverage on the pastureland and grass production in-creases by 13% and by 49.4-72%,rough protein,rough fat and nitrogen-free extract of grassincrease by 3.34%,2.4% and 8.

Effect of molecular weight of dissolved organic matter on toxicity and bioavailability of copper to lettuce

To clarify the effects of molecular weight of dissolved organic matter （DOM） on the toxicity and bioavailability of copper （Cu） to plants, DOM extracted from chicken manure was ultra-filtered into four fractions according to their molecular weights by means of sequential-stage ultrafiltration technique. Lettuce seeds were germinated by being exposed to the solutions containing Cu^2＋ with or without different fractions of DOM. The concentration of copper in roots, leaves, sprouts and the length of roots were investigated. The results showed that not all fractions of DOM could improve copper availability or toxicity. The fraction of DOM with larger molecular weight more than 1 kDa had higher complexation stability with Cu^2＋ and caused lower concentration of free Cu^2＋ ion in the solution of copper plus the fraction, resulting in lower availability and toxicity of copper to lettuce, but the fraction with molecular weight less than 1 kDa had the opposite function. Therefore, the molecular weight of 1 kDa may be the division point to determine DOM to increase or decrease copper availability and toxicity.
