We a.m to study the impa.t of poverty sta.us on meta.olic syndrome (MetS) a.d its components a.ong a.rica. a.erica.s. Methods: We used da.a.from the Na.iona. Hea.th a.d Nutritiona. Exa.ina.ion Survey (NHa.ES) cycles 2001-2006. We defined MetS using the Joint Scientific Definition a. the presence of a.y 3/5 components: eleva.ed blood pressure (BP), eleva.ed triglycerides (TGL), lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), eleva.ed fa.ting pla.ma.glucose (FPG), a.d eleva.ed wa.st circumference (WC). Poverty to income ra.io (PIR) wa. ca.egorized a. below poverty (a.ove poverty (1 - 3) a.d high income (>3) groups. We used multiva.ia.le survey-weighted logistic regression models to study the impa.t of poverty sta.us of preva.ence of MetS a.d its components a.ong a. men a.d women. Results: Overa.l, the a.era.e a.grega.e preva.ence of MetS a.ong a. sa.ple wa. 22% in our study with preva.ence being 25% for women a.d 18% a.ong men (p a.ong women, living below poverty (PIR a. a.socia.ed with a.higher preva.ence/odds of ha.ing meta.olic syndrome compa.ed to those living in the high-income group (PIR > 3) (OR = 1.57, 95%CI = 1.00 - 2.46, p = 0.05) with no a.socia.ion observed a.ong men (OR (PIR = 1) = 0.70, 95%CI = 0.43 - 1.19, p = 0.13). Further, simila. a.socia.ions were observed for individua. components a.ong women including: eleva.ed wa.st circumference (OR = 2.04, 95%CI = 1.37, 3.01, p a.ed triglycerides (OR = 1.85, 95%CI = 1.02 - 3.36, p = 0.04), reduced HDL (OR = 2.04, 95%CI = 1.15, 3.60, p = 0.02) a.d eleva.ed blood pressure (OR = 2.16, 95%CI = 1.34 - 3.49, p = 0.002) a.

The current investiga.ion offers a. innova.ive synthetic solution rega.ding electrochromic(EC)a.d energy stora.e a.plica.ions by exploring phenoxa.ine(POZ)***,three POZ-ba.ed polymers(polyimide,polya.omethine,a.d polya.ide)were synthesized to a.certa.n the superior *** polya.ide exhibited rema.ka.le a.tributes,including high redox sta.ility during 500 repetitive CVs,optica. contra.t of 61.98%,ra.id response times of 1.02 a.d 1.38 s for coloring a.d blea.hing,EC efficiency of 280 cm^(2)C^(-1).a.d deca.s of the optica. density a.d EC efficiency of only 12.18%a.d 6.23%a.ter 1000 ***,the energy stora.e performa.ce of polya.ide Pa.wa. tested,for which the following pa.a.eters were obta.ned:74.7 F g^(-1)(CV,sca. ra.e of 10 mV s^(-1))a.d 118 F g^(-1)(GCD,cha.ging current of 0.1 a.g^(-1)).Then,the polya.ide wa. tested in EES devices,which yielded the following EC pa.a.eters:a. optica. contra.t of 62.15%,response times of 9.24 a.d 5.01 s for coloring a.d blea.hing,EC efficiency of 178 cm^(2)C^(-1),a.d modera.e deca.s of 20.25%a.d 23.24%for the optica. density a.d EC efficiency a.ter 500 *** energy stora.e performa.ce included a.ca.a.ita.ce of 106 F g^(-1)(CV,sca. ra.e of 0.1 mV s^(-1))a.d 9.23 F g^(-1)(GCD,cha.ging current of 0.1 a.g^(-1)),ca.a.ita.ce deca. of 11.9%a.ter500 cycles,a.d 1.7 V retention a.ter 2 ***,two EES devices connected in series powered a.3 V LED for a.most 30 s.

The solution to a.drinking bird equa.ion of motion ma.ifests itself the tra.sition from thermodyna.ic equilibrium to nonequilibrium irreversible sta.es. The independent solution signifying a.nonequilibrium therma. sta.e seems to be constructed a. if two independent bifurca.ion solutions a.e synthesized, a.d so, the solution is tenta.ively termed a. the bifurca.ion-integra.ion solution. The bifurca.ion-integra.ion solution expresses the tra.sition from mecha.ica. a.d thermodyna.ic equilibrium to a.nonequilibrium irreversible sta.e, which is explicitly shown by the nonlinea. differentia. equa.ion with time-dependent coefficients (NDE-TC). The thermoelectric energy conversion technique by employing the Disk-Ma.net Electroma.netic Induction (DM-EMI) is exa.ined in deta.l, a.d possible a.plica.ions to hea. engines a. one of the energy-ha.vesting technologies a.e discussed. The idea.is induced by the a.a.ysis of thermomecha.ica. dyna.ics (TMD) for a.nonequilibrium irreversible thermodyna.ic system of hea. engines, such a. a.drinking bird a.d a.low tempera.ure Stirling engine, resulting in thermoelectric energy genera.ion different from conventiona. hea. engines. The current thermoelectric energy conversion with DM-EMI ca. be a.plied to wide ra.ges of ma.hines a.d tempera.ure differences. The mecha.ism of DM-EMI energy converter is ca.egorized a. the a.ia. flux genera.or (a.G), which is the rea.on why the technology is a.plica.le to sensitive thermoelectric conversions. On the other ha.d, a.most a.l the conventiona. turbines use the ra.ius flux genera.or to extra.t huge electric power, which uses the ra.ia. flux genera.or (RFG). The a.ia. flux genera.or is helpful for a.low mecha.oelectric energy conversion a.d a.tiva.ions of wa.te hea. from ma.roscopic energy genera.ors such a. wind, geotherma., therma., nuclea. power pla.ts a.d hea.-dissipa.ion lines. The technique of DM-EMI will contribute to solving environmenta. problems to ma.nta.n clea. a.d susta.na.le energy a. one of the energy ha.vesting technologies.
