Developme nt of subcellular orga nelle-targeted bioimagi ng probes is of great imports nee in the field of early detection of diseases and exploring the behaviors of subcellular organelles.Herein,we present a triphenyIphosphonium functionalized conjugated macrocyclic tetramaleimide(TPP-CMT)as a mitochondrial-targeting bioimaging probe.The core of TPP-CMT is obtained by connecting two pyrenes and two benzenes through four maleimides.This unique structure endows TPP-CMT with exceptional far red/near-i nfirared aggregati on-induced emissi on(FR/NIR-AIE)characteristics.TPP-CMT is an excelle nt fluoresce nt emitter in most solve nts and eve n in solid states.The qua ntum yield of TPP-CMT was higher tha n 27% when dissolved in comm on middle-polarity orga nic solve nt and this value remained at 28.2% in its solid state.The in troducti on of four triphe ny Iphosph onium on maleimide positions endows TPP-CMT with mitochondrial-targeting ability.Thanks to the FR/NIR-AIE characteristics and the mitochondri-al-targeti ng ability,this well-desig ned fluoresce nt probe was successfully employed for mitochondrial targeti ng bioimaging of HeLa and HepG2 cells.

The interface instability between layered oxide cathode and sulfide electrolyte is a key point affecting the perform ance of sulfide-based all-solid-state lithium batteries.Coating with fast-ionic conductor and constructing core-shell structure can effectively alleviate the interfacial side reactions and improve the interfacial stability between layered oxide and sulfide electrolyte.However,what have been neglected is the surface base(including Li_(2)CO_(3) and LiOH)of layered oxide can also affect the interfacial stability.To clarify this point clearly and improve the interfacial stability,the surface base of LiCoO_(2)(LCO)is regulated and investigated in this work.First,LCO with surface base Li_(2)CO_(3)(LCO@Li_(2)CO_(3))is prepared by the reaction of Co_(3)O_4 and excess Li_(2)CO_(3).Then,the bare LCO is obtained after LCO@Li_(2)CO_(3) is washed with deionized water and calcined again.Besides,LCO with surface base Li_(2)O(LCO@Li_(2)O)is also prepared with the bare LCO and LiOH.As a result,the electrochemical performances of LCO@Li_(2)O are significantly improved and much higher than those of LCO@Li_(2)CO_(3) and the bare LCO electrodes.In particular,LCO@Li_(2)O-2 cathode display the most outstanding electrochemical performances(discharge capacity138.4 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.2C,105 mAh·g^(-1)at 2C and a capacity retention of 95.4%after 150 cycles at 0.5C).The high discharge capacity and excellent cycle stability of LCO@Li_(2)O electrode confirm the effectiveness of regulating the surface base of layered oxide from Li_(2)CO_(3) to Li_(2)O.The surface base regulating is expected to be a simple but effective strategy to construct the stable interface between the cathode and the sulfide electrolyte of the all-solid-state lithium batteries.

Graphite as a promising anode candidate of K-ion batteries(KIBs)has been increasingly studied currently,but corresponding rate performance and cycling stability are usually inferior to amorphous carbon materials.To protect the layer structure and further boost performance,tempura-like carbon/carbon nanocomposite of graphite@pitch-derived S-doped carbon(G@PSC)is designed and prepared by a facile and low-temperature modified molten salt method.This robust encapsulation structure makes their respective advantages complementary to each other,showing mutual promotion of electrochemical performances caused by synergy effect.As a result,the G@PSC electrode is applied in KIBs,delivering impressive rate capabilities(465,408,370,332,290,and 227 m A h g^(-1)at 0.05,0.2,0.5,1,2,and 5 A g^(-1))and ultralong cyclic stability(163 m A g^(-1)remaining even after 8000 cycles at 2 A g^(-1)).On basis of ex-situ studies,the sectionalized K-storage mechanism with adsorption(pseudocapacitance caused by S doping)-intercalation(pitch-derived carbon and graphite)pattern is revealed.Moreover,the exact insights into remarkable rate performances are taken by electrochemical kinetics tests and density functional theory calculation.In a word,this study adopts a facile method to synthesize high-performance carbon/carbon nanocomposite and is of practical significance for development of carbonaceous anode in KIBs.

Background Our previous studies demonstrated that divalent organic iron(Fe)proteinate sources with higher complexation or chelation strengths as expressed by the greater quotient of formation(Qf)values displayed higher Fe bioavailabilities for broilers.Sodium iron ethylenediaminetetraacetate(NaFeEDTA)is a trivalent organic Fe source with the strongest chelating ligand EDTA.However,the bioavailability of Fe when administered as NaFeEDTA in broilers and other agricultural animals remains untested.Herein,the chemical characteristics of 12 NaFeEDTA products were determined.Of these,one feed grade NaFeEDTA(Qf=2.07×10^(8)),one food grade NaFeEDTA(Qf=3.31×10^(8)),and one Fe proteinate with an extremely strong chelation strength(Fe-Prot ES,Qf value=8,590)were selected.Their bioavailabilities relative to Fe sulfate(FeSO_(4)·7H_(2)O)for broilers fed with a conventional corn-soybean meal diet were evaluated during d 1 to 21 by investigating the effects of the above Fe sources and added Fe levels on the growth performance,hematological indices,Fe contents,activities and gene expressions of Fe-containing enzymes in various tissues of broilers.Results NaFeEDTA sources varied greatly in their chemical characteristics.Plasma Fe concentration(PI),transferrin saturation(TS),liver Fe content,succinate dehydrogenase(SDH)activities in liver,heart,and kidney,catalase(CAT)activity in liver,and SDH mRNA expressions in liver and kidney increased linearly(P<0.05)with increasing levels of Fe supplementation.However,differences among Fe sources were detected(P<0.05)only for PI,liver Fe content,CAT activity in liver,SDH activities in heart and kidney,and SDH mRNA expressions in liver and kidney.Based on slope ratios from multiple linear regressions of the above indices on daily dietary analyzed Fe intake,the average bioavailabilities of Fe-Prot ES,feed grade NaFeEDTA,and food grade NaFeEDTA relative to the inorganic FeSO_(4)·7H_(2)O(100%)for broilers were 139%,155%,and 166%,respectively.Conclusions The bioavailabilities of organic Fe sources

Clinical analysis of multiple primary gastrointestinal malignant tumors:A 10-year case review of a single-center

BACKGROUND Multiple primary malignant tumors(MPMTs)was first described by Billroth as early as 1889,with the first report published by Warren and Gates in 1932.Since then,numerous cases have been reported.A literature review of 1104269 patients with cancer revealed that the incidence of MPMTs ranged from 0.73 to 11.7%.In recent years,however,there has been a significant upward trend in the incidence of this phenomenon,which may be associated with many different factors,including the advancement of modern diagnostic procedures facilitating the examination and diagnosis of more MPMTs,increased exposure to chemotherapy and radiotherapy that exacerbate the risk of new malignant tumors in patients with cancer,and prolonged survival of patients with cancer allowing sufficient time for the development of new primary cancers.AIM To analyze the incidence,clinical features,treatment factors,prevalence,and prognosis of patients with MPMTs in the gastrointestinal tract treated in a single center.Additionally,we analyzed the different tumor combinations,time interval between the occurrence of tumors,and staging.METHODS This retrospective cohort study analyzed 8059 patients with pathologically confirmed gastrointestinal malignant tumors treated at the Gansu Province Hospital in Lanzhou,Gansu,China between June 2011 and June 2020.Of these,85 patients had MPMTs.The clinical features,treatment factors,prevalence,and prognosis of this latter cohort were analyzed.RESULTS The incidence of MPMTs in patients with gastrointestinal malignant tumors was 1.05%(85/8059),including 83 double primary malignant tumors and two triple primary malignant tumors of which 57(67.06%)were synchronous MPMTs(SMPMTs)and 28(32.94%)were metachronous MPMTs(MMPMTs).The most frequent associations were found between the rectum colon cancers within the SMPMT category and the gastric-colon cancers within the MMPMT category.For the MMPMTs,the median interval was 53 months.The overall 1-,3-and 5-year survival rates from diagnosis of the first primary cancer were 9

This research was to assess the dietary copper(Cu) requirement of broiler chickens fed a practical cornsoybean meal diet during 22—42 d of age. A total of 288 numbered Arbor Acres male broilers at 22 d of age were randomly allotted 6 treatments with 8 replicate cages(6 broilers per cage) per treatment.Broilers were fed a Cu-unsupplemented corn-soybean meal basal diet(control, containing 7.36 mg Cu/kg) or the basal diet added with 3, 6, 9, 12, or 15 mg Cu/kg from CuSO4·5H2O for 21 d. Quadratic,asymptotic and broken-line models were fitted and the best fitted models were selected to determine dietary Cu requirements. The results revealed that the contents of Cu in serum and liver, m RNA expression levels of Cu-and zinc-containing superoxide dismutase(CuZnSOD) in liver and monoamine oxidase b(MAO B) in heart, as well as protein expression level of CuZnSOD in liver were affected(P < 0.05) by supplemental Cu levels, and the above indices varied linearly and quadratically(P < 0.05)with increasing Cu levels. Dietary Cu requirements assessed according to the best fitted broken-line models(P < 0.05) of the above indexes were 10.45—13.81 mg/kg. It was concluded that mRNA expression levels of CuZnSOD in liver and MAO B in heart, as well as liver CuZnSOD protein expression level were new specific sensitive biomarkers for estimating dietary Cu requirements, and the dietary Cu requirement was recommended to be 14 mg/kg to support Cu metabolic needs related to key Cucontaining enzymes in broilers fed the corn-soybean meal diet during 22—42 d of age, which was higher than the dietary Cu requirement(8 mg/kg) for broilers at the corresponding stage suggested by the Chinese Feeding Standard of Chicken.

Background:The accuracy of using total keratometry(TK)value in recent IOL power calculation formulas in highly myopic eyes remained unknown.Methods:Highly myopic patients who underwent uneventful cataract surgery were prospectively enrolled in this prospective comparative study.At one month postoperatively,standard deviation(SD)of the prediction errors(PEs),mean and median absolute error(MedAE)of 103 highly myopic eyes were back-calculated and compared among ten formulas,including XGboost,RBF 3.0,Kane,Barrett Universal II,Emmetropia Verifying Optical 2.0,Cooke K6,Haigis,SRK/T,and Wang-Koch modifications of Haigis and SRK/T formulas,using either TK or standard keratometry(K)value.Results:In highly myopic eyes,despite good agreement between TK and K(P>0.05),larger differences between the two were associated with smaller central corneal thickness(P0.05),which both presented smaller MedAEs than others(all P0.05),and statistically larger percentages than the other eight formulas(P<0.05).Conclusions:Highly myopic eyes with thinner corneas tend to have larger differences between TK and K.The XGboost enhancement calculator and RBF 3.0 formula using TK showed the most promising outcomes in highly myopic eyes.

Plants are highly susceptible to abiotic stresses,particularly heat stress during the reproductive stage.However,the specific molecular mechanisms underlying this sensitivity remain largely unknown.In the current study,we demonstrate that the Nuclear Transcription Factor,X-box Binding Protein 1-Like 1(NFXL1),directly regulates the expression of DEHYDRATION-RESPONSIVE ELEMENT-BINDING PROTEIN 2A(DREB2A),which is crucial for reproductive thermotolerance in Arabidopsis.NFXL1 is upregulated by heat stress,and its mutation leads to a reduction in silique length(seed number)under heat stress conditions.RNA-Seq analysis reveals that NFXL1 has a global impact on the expression of heat stress responsive genes,including DREB2A,Heat Shock Factor A3(HSFA3)and Heat Shock Protein 17.6(HSP17.6)in flower buds.Interestingly,NFXL1 is enriched in the promoter region of DREB2A,but not of either HSFA3 or HSP17.6.Further experiments using electrophoretic mobility shift assay have confirmed that NFXL1 directly binds to the DNA fragment derived from the DREB2A promoter.Moreover,effector-reporter assays have shown that NFXL1 activates the DREB2A promoter.The DREB2A mutants are also heat stress sensitive at the reproductive stage,and DEREB2A is epistatic to NFXL1 in regulating thermotolerance in flower buds.It is known that HSFA3,a direct target of DREB2A,regulates the expression of heat shock proteins genes under heat stress conditions.Thus,our findings establish NFXL1 as a critical upstream regulator of DREB2A in the transcriptional cassette responsible for heat stress responses required for reproductive thermotolerance in Arabidopsis.

We designed a clamping device to study lateral photovoltaic effect (LPE) in Ni-SiO_(2)-Si structure with bias due to the appropriate barrier height.The LPE has a prominent sensitivity and linearity with 532 nm wavelength laser.The transient response time is 450μs and the relaxation time is 2 250μs in the Ni-SiO_(2)-Si structure without bias.The LPE sensitivity has a significant improvement with bias.The transient response time is 6μs and the relaxion time is 47μs with-7 V bias,not only improving the LPE sensitivity,but also increasing the response speed with bias.The research shows that the Schottky barrier structure can improve the sensitivity and linearity of LPE with bias effectively,and thus it can be used in position sensitive sensors.

Esophageal cancer(EC)is the seventh most common cancer worldwide,and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)accounts for the majority of cases of EC.To effectively diagnose and treat ESCC and improve patient prognosis,timely diagnosis in the initial phase of the illness is necessary.This article offers a detailed summary of the latest advancements and emerging technologies in the timely identification of ECs.Molecular biology and epigenetics approaches involve the use of molecular mechanisms combined with fluorescence quanti-tative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR),high-throughput sequencing technology(next-generation sequencing),and digital PCR technology to study endogenous or exogenous biomolecular changes in the human body and provide a decision-making basis for the diagnosis,treatment,and prognosis of diseases.The invest-igation of the microbiome is a swiftly progressing area in human cancer research,and microorganisms with complex functions are potential components of the tumor microenvironment.The intratumoral microbiota was also found to be connected to tumor progression.The application of endoscopy as a crucial technique for the early identification of ESCC has been essential,and with ongoing advancements in technology,endoscopy has continuously improved.With the advancement of artificial intelligence(AI)technology,the utilization of AI in the detection of gastrointestinal tumors has become increasingly prevalent.The implementation of AI can effectively resolve the discrepancies among observers,improve the detection rate,assist in predicting the depth of invasion and differentiation status,guide the pericancerous margins,and aid in a more accurate diagnosis of ESCC.
