AIM:To define the predictive factors of severe retinopathy of prematurity(ROP)and develop a nomogram for predicting severe ROP in southeast ***:Totally 554 infants diagnosed with ROP hospitalized in the Second Affiliated Hospital and Yuying Children’s Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University and hospitalized in Taizhou Women and Children’s Hospital were *** data and 43 candidate predictive factors of ROP infants were collected *** regression model was used to identify predictive factors of severe ROP and to propose a nomogram for individual risk prediction,which was compared with WINROP model and Digirop-Birth ***:Infants from the Second Affiliated Hospital and Yuying Children’s Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University(n=478)were randomly allocated into training(n=402)and internal validation group(n=76).Infants from Taizhou Women and Children’s Hospital were set as external validation group(n=76).Severe ROP were found in 52 of 402 infants,12 of 76 infants,and 7 of 76 infants in training group,internal validation group,and external validation group,*** weight[odds ratio(OR),0.997;95%confidence interval(CI),0.996-0.999;P<0.001],multiple births(OR,1.885;95%CI,1.013-3.506;P=0.045),and non-invasive ventilation(OR,0.288;95%CI,0.146-0.570;P<0.001)were identified as predictive factors for the prediction of severe ROP,by univariate analysis and multivariate *** predicting severe ROP based on the internal validation group,the areas under receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)was 78.1(95%CI,64.2-92.0)for the nomogram,32.9(95%CI,15.3-50.5)for WINROP model,70.2(95%CI,55.8-84.6)for Digirop-Birth *** external validation group,AUC of the nomogram was also higher than that of WINROP model and Digirop-Birth model(80.2 versus 51.1 and 63.4).The decision curve analysis of the nomogram demonstrated better clinical efficacy than that of WINROP model and Digirop-Birth *** calibration curves demonst

Continuous Method Development and Numerical Study of HHV Water Gas Production by Pulverized Coal

In energy industries, it is always of difficulty to produce high heat value（HHV） gas continuously using pulverized coal. In this paper, a new type furnace for partitioned alternative gasification using pulverized coal is developed, in which the oxidation and reduction reaction occur alternatively with the dropping of pulverized coal and finally HHV gas could be continuously obtained at the reduction zone exit and low heat value（LHV） gas at the oxidation zone exit. Furthermore, the gasification characteristics and their factors in furnace are numerically simulated under two dimensional model with a self-coded program, based on heat, mass and energy transfer as well as reaction principles. It is found that the producing rate of HHV gas is 1.10Nm3/kg with heat value of ll.72MJ/Nm3, how- ever, that of LHV gas is 2.58Nm3/kg with heat value of 5.30MJ/Nm3, and the coal gas efficiency is 81.16% under optimized conditions.

Studies on synthesis and property of novel acid-base proton exchange membranes

Sulfonated poly（phthalazinone）s （SPPENK, SPPESK and SPPBEK） were prepared by direct polymerization reaction from sulfonated monomers. The novel acid-base membranes were composed of sulfonated polymers as the acidic compounds, and polyetherimide （PEI） as the basic compounds, casting from their N-methylpyrrolidone （NMP） solution directly onto clean glass plates at 60 ℃ aiming at enhancing membrane toughness and other relative properties. The resulted acid-base composite membranes had excellent resistance to swelling, thermo-stability, hydrolysis resistance and oxidative resistance properties with highly ion-exchange capacity （IEC）.

Cloning and characterization of a novel hepatitis B virus core binding protein C12

AIM： To elucidate the biological function of HBV core antigen （HBcAg） on pathogenesis of hepatitis B, a novel gene C12 coding for protein with unknown function interacting with HBcAg in hepatocytes was identified and characterized. METHODS： HBcAg bait plasmid pGBKT7-HBcAg was constructed and transformed into yeast AH109, then the transformed yeast was mated with yeast Y187 containing liver complementary DNA （cDNA） library plasmid in 2xYPDA medium. Diploid yeast was plated on synthetic dropout nutrient medium （SD/-Trp-Leu-His-Ade） and synthetic dropout nutrient medium （SD/-Trp-Leu-His-Ade） containing X-α-gal for screening twice. After extracting and sequencing of plasmid from blue colonies, we isolated a cDNA clone encoding a novel protein designated as C12 that directly interacted with HBcAg. The interaction between HBcAg and C12 was verified again by re-mating. pEGFP-N1-C12 fluorescent protein fusion gene was transfected in 293 and L02 cell, and observed by fluorescent microscope. M-FI reduction assay was used to study the action of C12 protein effect on metabolism of mammal cell. Yeast two-hybrid and cDNA microarray were performed to search binding protein and differential expression genes regulated by C12 protein. RESULTS： C12 gene was screened and identified by yeast two-hybrid system 3. The interaction between HBcAg and the novel protein coded by the new gene C12 was further confirmed by re-mating. After 48 h, fluorescence of fusion protein could be observed steadily in the 293 and L02 cell plasma. Under MTT assay, we found that the expression of C12 did not influence the growth of liver cells. Seventeen differential expression genes in HepG2 cells transfected with C12 protein expression plasmid by cDNA microarray, of which 16 genes were upregulated and 1 gene was downregulated by C12 protein. Twenty-one colonies containing 16 different genes coding for C12 protein binding proteins were isolated by yeast two-hybrid, there were 2 new genes with unknown function.

Novel wood-plastic composite fabricated via modified steel slag:Preparation,mechanical and flammability properties

A novel method was developed to enhance the utilization rate of steel slag(SS).Through treatment of SS with phosphoric acid and aminopropyl triethoxysilane(KH550),we obtained modified SS(MSS),which was used to prepare MSS/wood-plastic composites(MSS/WPCs)by replacing talcum powder(TP).The composites were fabricated through melting blending and hot *** mechanical and combustion properties,which comprise heat release,smoke release,and thermal stability,were systematically *** can improve the mechanical strength of the composites through grafting reactions between wood powder and ***,MSS/WPC#50(16wt%MSS)with an MSS-to-TP mass ratio of 1:1 exhibited optimal comprehensive *** with those of WPC#0 without MSS,the tensile,flexural,and impact strengths of MSS/WPC#50 were increased by 18.5%,12.8%,and 18.0%,***,the MSS/WPC#50 sample achieved the highest limited oxygen index of 22.5%,the highest vertical burning rating at the V-1 level,and the lowest horizontal burning rate at 44.2 mm/*** formation of a dense and stable char layer led to improved thermal stability and a considerable reduction in heat and smoke releases of MSS/WPC#***,the partial replacement of TP with MSS slightly compromised the mechanical and flame-retardant properties,possibly due to the weak grafting caused by SS powder *** findings suggest the suitability of MSS/WPCs for high-value-added applications as decorative panels indoors or outdoors.

Seasonal thermal energy storage using natural structures:GIS-based potential assessment for northern China

Seasonal thermal energy storage(STES)allows storing heat for long-term and thus promotes the shifting of waste heat resources from summer to winter to decarbonize the district heating(DH)*** being a promising solution for sustainable energy system,large-scale STES for urban regions is lacking due to the relatively high initial investment and extensive land *** close the gap,this study assesses the potentials of using two naturally available structures for STES,namely valley and ground pit *** on geographical information system(GIS)methods,the available locations are searched from digital elevation model and selected considering several criteria from land uses and construction *** costs of dams to impound the reservoir and the yielded storage capacities are then quantified to guide the choice of suitable *** assessment is conducted for the northern China where DH systems and significant seasonal differences of energy demand *** total,2,273 valley sites and 75 ground pit sites are finally identified with the energy storage capacity of 15.2 billion GJ,which is much larger than the existing DH demand in northern *** results also prove that 682 valley sites can be achieved with a dam cost lower than 20 CNY/m^(3).By conducting sensitivity analysis on the design dam wall height and elevations,the choices of available natural structures are expanded but practical issues about water pressures and constructions are also ***,the identified sites are geographically mapped with nearest urban regions to reveal their roles in the DH *** general,560 urban regions are found with potential STES units and most of them have STES storage capacities larger than their own DH *** novel planning methodology of this study and publicly available datasets create possibilities for the implementations of large-scale STES in urban DH systems.

Dynamic recrystallization mechanism, texture evolution development and mechanical characteristics of a Mg–8.7Gd–4.18Y–0.42Zr magnesium alloy by ECAP

Equal channel angle pressing is recognized for its ability to refine alloy grains and alter grain orientation, thereby achieve better mechanical performance of the magnesium alloy. This study investigates the microstructures,dynamic recrystallization mechanism, texture development, and mechanical performance of GW94K(Mg–8.7Gd–4.18Y–0.42Zr wt. %) Mg alloy following ECAP-4 passes at 400°C and 3 mm/min. Results show that when high-temperature deformation is undertaken, twin formation is suppressed while dislocation slip is facilitated, increasing dislocation density during deformation. Following ECAP deformation, the sample displayed higher fracture elongation, TYS, and UTS than the as-solutioned GW94K alloy. In particular, the GW94K alloy performed well mechanically after ECAP-4 passes, with an ultimate TYS of 231 MPa, an UTS of 290 MPa, and an elongation of 14.8 %. DDRX and shear bands induce CDRX, both of which are important in plastic deformation. as well as in modifying microstructure and grain orientation during ECAP deformation.
