The hot deformation behavior of 19Cr2Mo and 19Cr2Mo1W ferritic stainless steels was studied by using uniaxial hot compression tests on a thermomechanical simulator. The hot deformation was carried out at temperature ranging from 800 to 1150℃ and strain rates from 0.01 to 10 s^-1. Microstructure change and precipitation behavior during hot deformation were investigated by optical microscopy, electron probe microanalysis and transmission electron microscopy. The effects of temperature and strain rate on deformation behavior were obtained by a classical equation in Zener-Hollomon parameter. Since W addition to 19Cr2Mo1W steel could refine the size of the precipitates to enhance the precipitation strengthening and also had the effect of solution strengthening, the dynamic recrystallization, dynamic recovery and grain growth of 19Cr2Mo1W ferritic stainless steel were inhibited to a certain extent. The precipitate size of 19Cr2Mo1W steel was finer than that of 19Cr2Mo steel under the same deformation condition, which is due to the fact that the atomic diffusion is suppressed by W addition. W addition increased the amount of Laves phase in 19Cr2Mo1W steel, and thus Laves phase in 19Cr2Mo1W steel could be formed at higher temperature than that in 19Cr2Mo steel.

Cancer stem cells(CSCs) are a small subpopulation in cancer, have been proposed to be cancer-initiating cells, and have been shown to be responsible for chemotherapy resistance and cancer recurrence. The identification of CSC subpopulations inside a tumor presents a new understanding of cancer development because it implies that tumors can only be eradicated by targeting CSCs. Although advances in liver cancer detection and treatment have increased the possibility of curing the disease at early stages, unfortunately, most patients will relapse and succumb to their disease. Strategies aimed at efficiently targeting liver CSCs are becoming important for monitoring the progress of liver cancer therapy and for evaluating new therapeutic approaches. Herein, we provide a critical discussion of biological markers described in the literature regarding liver cancer stem cells and the potential of these markers to serve as therapeutic targets.

The application of a thermoluminescent detector(TLD) for dose detection at the liver irradiation site in mice under linear accelerator precision radiotherapy and the use of a single high dose to irradiate the mouse liver to construct a biological model of a radiation-induced liver injury(RILD) in mice were to determine the feasibility of constructing a precision radiotherapy model in small animals under a linear accelerator. A 360° arc volumetric rotational intensity-modulated radiotherapy(VMAT) plan with a prescribed dose of 2 Gy was developed for the planned target volume(PTV) at the location of the TLD within solid water to compare the difference between the measured dose of TLD and the assessed parameters in the TPS system. The TLD was implanted in the livers of mice, and VMAT was planned based on TLD to compare the measured and prescribed doses. C57BL/6 J mice were randomly divided into control and 25-Gy radiation groups and were examined daily for changes in body weight. They were euthanized at 3 and 10 weeks after radiation, and the levels of liver serum enzymes such as alanine aminotransferase(ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), and alkaline phosphatase(ALP) were measured to observe any pathological histological changes in the irradiated areas of the mouse liver. The measured values of solid underwater TLD were within ± 3% of the Dmean value of the evaluation parameter in the TPS system. The mice in the 25-Gy radiation group demonstrated pathological signs of radiation-induced liver injury at the site of liver irradiation. The deviation in the measured and prescribed doses of TLD in the mouse liver ranged from-1.5 to 6%;construction of an accurate model of RILD using the VMAT technique under a linear accelerator is feasible.

A dual-wavelength erbium doped fiber laser with a tilted fiber Bragg grating and photonic crystal fiber is proposed and demonstrated. In the laser, a 2W EDFA provides gain for all the laser lines; the highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber introduces dynamic energy transfer between the two wavelengths caused by four wave mixing effect, so that a stable dual- wavelength oscillation at room temperature is implemented. Different switching modes can be achieved by adjusting the lateral offset between the fiber grating and the guiding single mode fiber or by varying the state of polarization in the laser cavity. The maximum of output power of the laser has reached 314mW.
