A Facile Strategy for Intrinsic Low-Dk and Low-Df Polyimides Enabled by Spirobifluorene Groups

Modified polyimides(MPIs)show great potential towards 5G communication applications,due to its excellent thermal stability,mechanical property and chemical stability as compared to most of *** fluoride groups or porous structure is favorable to ultra-low dielectric constant(D_(k))and dielectric loss(D_(f)).However,the cost of the fluorinated MPIs is high and their synthetic processes are complicated,and porous MPIs suffer poor mechanical ***,increasing the fraction of free volume is a very effective way to lower D_(k)through introducing more ultra-low-D_(k)air ***,most of this kind of MPIs lag far behind the fluorinated MPIs and the porous MPIs in terms of ultra-low D_(f),hindering the application of MPIs in high-speed communication ***,it is highly desirable to develop intrinsic ultra-low-D_(k)/D_(f)MPIs at high frequency with less fluoric groups and nonporous ***,we introduce a facile and effective strategy to lower D_(k)and D_(f)through introducing rigid and large sterically hindered aromatic groups into *** the one hand,their large steric hindrance effect leads to low D_(k)by increasing intrinsic free *** the other hand,the resulting highly stiff polymer chain and strong intermolecular interaction are favorable to reduce D_(f)by inhibiting dipole *** on this strategy,the spirobifluorene groups are *** as-prepared MPIs show excellent dielectric performance with low D_(k)of 2.74–2.76 and low D_(f)of 0.00599 at 10 GHz,to some extent,exceeding the multiple fluorinated MPI with D_(k)/D_(f)of 2.67/0.00663 at 10 GHz.

Exploring wide voltage window materials is not only an available measure to enhance the energy density of hybrid supercapacitor(HSCs),but also avoids the dynamic mismatch caused by different energy storage mechanisms of two electrodes in assembled symmetrical ***,there are few reports about the wide potential window materials except Bi_(2)O_(3)and VO_(2).Therefore,the MnF_(2)synthesized by solvothermal reaction was served as the electrode for *** MnF_(2)exhibited electrochemical activity in alkaline solution in three-electrode system,especially with a wide potential window from-0.8 to+0.5 V in 2 mol·L^(-1)***,the assembled MnF_(2)//MnF_(2)symmetrical HSC had a potential window of 1.5 V,and it exhibited outstanding long-cycle ***,when MnF_(2)was taken as the negative and positive respectively,the potential windows of asymmetric devices CoMoO_(4)//MnF_(2)and MnF_(2)//Activated Carbon(AC)could reach 1.3 and 1.45 V,respectively,showing excellent cycle *** work shows that MnF_(2)material has great research value in HSC,and provides a new research direction for developing high-performance devices.

Intermittent sliding-lock-knot suture for limbal conjunctival autograft fixation in pterygium surgery:a technique note

AIM:To report a technique used with intermittent slidinglock-knot(ISLK)fixation for limbal conjunctival autografts in pterygium surgery and compared with those of routine intermittent(RI)***:Consecutive patients with primary pterygium who had undergone pterygium excision combined with limbal conjunctival autograft transplantation between March 2021 and March 2022 at our institute were retrospectively *** outcome measures were mean duration of surgery and suture removal,degree of conjunctival hyperemia on postoperative day 1,pain score at suture removal,postoperative symptoms at 6mo,including conjunctival hyperemia,foreign body sensation,and graft ***:Ninety-eight patients underwent monocular surgery and were divided into ISLK(51 eyes)and RI(47 eyes)groups according to the type of conjunctiva autograft fixation method *** was no significant difference in mean duration of surgery between the two groups(18.59±2.39min vs 18.15±2.20min,P=0.417);however,compared to the RI group,shorter suture removal times were observed in the ISLK group[0.58min(0.42-0.87)vs 3.00min(2.21-4.15),P<0.001].The degree of conjunctival hyperemia on postoperative day 1 was milder in the ISLK group(P<0.001).Pain scores at suture removal were lower in the ISLK group than in RI group[1(0-3)vs 2(1-4),P<0.001].Postoperative symptoms at 6mo were comparable between the groups(P=0.487),with no ***:ISLK is an innovative method for limbal conjunctival autograft fixation after pterygium *** to RI fixation,ISLK facilitates suture removal and reduces discomfort,with comparable surgery duration and less conjunctival hyperemia.

There is growing evidence of the high transmission potential of COVID-19 through virus-laden *** aerosols are inhaled in various concentrations,an overall assessment of transmission risks at different indoor scales is ***,a comprehensive risk assessment method that evaluates the direct link between short-range and room-scale zones is stl *** this paper,a risk assessment model combining both short-range and room-scale effects is developed to obtain effective reproduction number in confined indoor environments,called Turbulent Jet Wells Riley(TJWR)*** with the viral load data and aerosol generation data of different human respiratory activities,the Monte Carlo simulation method is applied to calculate the quanta emission rate,which further provides the input parameters of the TJWR *** known outbreaks(Hangzhou banquet hall X,Guangzhou restaurant Y,and Hong Kong restaurant Z,China)are chosen to validate the TJWR *** show that the TJWR model is more efficient than the original Wells-Riley *** average relative error of the TJWR model ranges between 9%and 44%,while for the Wells-Riley model,it ranges between 57%and 78%.The TJWR model also proves that infection risk assessments using the well-mixed assumption can systematically underestimate the transmission risk for those close to the ***,there is a significant positive linear correlation between the total number of exposed individuals at the short-range and the effective reproduction *** newly developed TJWR model has great potential for rapid and real-time overall airborne transmission risk assessment in buildings and cities.

Research on the MPPT of Photovoltaic Power Generation Based on Improved WOA and P&O under Partial Shading Conditions

Partial shading conditions(PSCs)caused by uneven illumination become one of the most common problems in photovoltaic(PV)systems,which can make the PV power-voltage(P-V)characteristics curve show *** maximum power point tracking(MPPT)methods have shortcomings in tracking to the global maximum power point(GMPP),resulting in a dramatic decrease in output *** order to solve the above problems,intelligent algorithms are used in ***,the existing intelligent algorithms have some disadvantages,such as slow convergence speed and large search ***,an improved whale algorithm(IWOA)combined with the P&O(IWOA-P&O)is proposed for the MPPT of PV power generation in this ***,IWOA is used to track the range interval of the GMPP,and then P&O is used to accurately find the MPP in that *** with other algorithms,simulation results show that this method has an average tracking efficiency of 99.79%and an average tracking time of 0.16 s when tracking ***,experimental verification is conducted,and the results show that the proposed algorithm has better MPPT performance compared to popular particle swarm optimization(PSO)and PSO-P&O algorithms.

Sparse Modal Decomposition Method Addressing Underdetermined Vortex-Induced Vibration Reconstruction Problem for Marine Risers

When investigating the vortex-induced vibration(VIV)of marine risers,extrapolating the dynamic response on the entire length based on limited sensor measurements is a crucial step in both laboratory experiments and fatigue monitoring of real *** problem is conventionally solved using the modal decomposition method,based on the principle that the response can be approximated by a weighted sum of limited vibration ***,the method is not valid when the problem is underdetermined,i.e.,the number of unknown mode weights is more than the number of known *** study proposed a sparse modal decomposition method based on the compressed sensing theory and the Compressive Sampling Matching Pursuit(Co Sa MP)algorithm,exploiting the sparsity of VIV in the modal *** the validation study based on high-order VIV experiment data,the proposed method successfully reconstructed the response using only seven acceleration measurements when the conventional methods failed.A primary advantage of the proposed method is that it offers a completely data-driven approach for the underdetermined VIV reconstruction problem,which is more favorable than existing model-dependent solutions for many practical applications such as riser structural health monitoring.

Hydrogen economy based on electrochemical water splitting exemplified one of the most promising means for overcoming the rapid consumption of fossil fuels and the serious deterioration of global *** development of earth-abundant,efficient,and durable electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)plays a vital role in the commercialization of water ***,the self-supported electrode with unique nitrogen-doped reduced graphene oxide(N-rGO)nanoflakes and WS_(2) hierarchical nanoflower that were grown directly on carbon cloth(CC)substrate(WS_(2)/N-rGO/CC)was successfully synthesized using a facile dual-step hydrothermal *** as-synthesized 50%1T/2H-WS_(2)/N-rGO/CC(WGC),which possessed high metallic 1T phase of 57%not only efficiently exposed more active sites and accelerated mass/charge diffusion,but also endowed excellent structural lustiness,robust stability,and durability at a high current *** a result,the 50%WGC exhibited lower overpotentials and Tafel slopes of 21.13 mV(29.55 mV∙dec^(-1))and 80.35 mV(137.02 mV∙dec^(-1))as compared to 20%Pt-C/CC,respectively for catalyzing acidic and alkaline hydrogen evolution ***,the as-synthesized 50%WGC also depicted long-term stability for more than 8 h in the high-current-density regions(100 and 220 mA∙cm^(-2)).In brief,this work reveals a self-supported electrode as an extraordinary alternative to Pt-based catalysts for HER in a wide pH range,while paving a facile strategy to develop advanced electrocatalysts with abundant heterointerfaces for practical applications in energy-saving hydrogen production.

SARS-CoV-2 infection-induced hyper-inflammation is a key pathogenic factor of *** research,along with others',has demonstrated that mast cells(MCs)play a vital role in the initiation of hyper-inflammation caused by *** previous study,we observed that SARS-CoV-2 infection induced the accumulation of MCs in the peri-bronchus and bronchioalveolar-duct junction in humanized ***,we found that MC degranulation triggered by the spike protein resulted in inflammation in alveolar epithelial cells and capillary endothelial cells,leading to subsequent lung *** trachea and bronchus are the routes for SARS-CoV-2 transmission after virus inhalation,and inflammation in these regions could promote viral *** are widely distributed throughout the respiratory ***,in this study,we investigated the role of MCs and their degranulation in the development of inflammation in tracheal-bronchial *** analyses showed the accumulation and degranulation of MCs in the peri-trachea of humanized mice infected with *** degranulation caused lesions in trachea,and the formation of papillary hyperplasia was *** transcriptome analysis in bronchial epithelial cells,we found that MC degranulation significantly altered multiple cellular signaling,particularly,leading to upregulated immune responses and *** administration of ebastine or loratadine effectively suppressed the induction of inflammatory factors in bronchial epithelial cells and alleviated tracheal injury in *** together,our findings confirm the essential role of MC degranulation in SARS-CoV-2-induced hyper-inflammation and the subsequent tissue ***,our results support the use of ebastine or loratadine to inhibit SARS-CoV-2-triggered degranulation,thereby preventing tissue damage caused by hyper-inflammation.

Skin wounds are characterized by injury to the skin due to trauma,tearing,cuts,or *** such injuries are common to all human groups,they may at times represent a serious socioeconomic ***,increasing numbers of studies have focused on the role of mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)-derived extracellular vesicles(EVs)in skin wound *** a cell-free therapy,MSC-derived EVs have shown significant application potential in the field of wound repair as a more stable and safer option than conventional cell *** based on MSC-derived EVs can significantly promote the repair of damaged substructures,including the regeneration of vessels,nerves,and hair *** addition,MSC-derived EVs can inhibit scar formation by affecting angiogenesis-related and antifibrotic pathways in promoting macrophage polarization,wound angiogenesis,cell proliferation,and cell migration,and by inhibiting excessive extracellular matrix ***,these structures can serve as a scaffold for components used in wound repair,and they can be developed into bioengineered EVs to support trauma *** the formulation of standardized culture,isolation,purification,and drug delivery strategies,exploration of the detailed mechanism of EVs will allow them to be used as clinical treatments for wound *** conclusion,MSCderived EV-based therapies have important application prospects in wound *** we provide a comprehensive overview of their current status,application potential,and associated drawbacks.
