Soil Physical and Chemical Properties of Pure Pinus massoniana and Its Mixed Forests in Different Ages in Southern Guangxi

Six forest stands of 59,34 and 24 year-old Pinus massoniana forests and their mixed forests were selected at the Experimental Center of Tropical Forestry of Chinese Academy of Forestry,and 20 m × 20 m plot was set up and soil samples were taken from 0-60 cm soil layers,to analyze the changes of soil nutrient content under different forest stands and forest ages. The results showed that soil moisture and the bulk density in the mesophytic forest land were higher than those of other forest lands. The highest soil porosity value was observed in the early forest land. Soil p H of different forest was 4. 45-4. 75,indicating the variation was small. Besides,it indicated that the mixed forest was more able to increase the soil fertility than the pure forest because that the variation of soil acidity,organic matter content and total P and K in 34 and24 year-old mixed forests were higher than those in pure forests of the same year old. However,the content of soil available P and K decreased with the increase of soil depth,and varied in terms of forest ages. From the changes of soil indicators in different forest lands,soil nutrients in the 34 year-old P. massoniana forest was superior to that of other forest stands.

Since the computing capacity and battery energy of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) are constrained, UAV as aerial user is hard to handle the high computational complexity and time-sensitive applications.This paper investigates a cellular-connected multi-UAV network supported by mobile edge computing(MEC).Multiple UAVs carrying tasks fly from a given initial position to a termination position within a specified time. To handle the large number of tasks carried by UAVs, we propose a energy cost of all UAVs based problem to determine how many tasks should be offloaded to high-altitude balloons(HABs) for computing, which UAV-HAB association, the trajectory of UAV, and calculation task splitting are jointly optimized. However, the formulated problem has nonconvex structure. Hence, an efficient iterative algorithm by applying successive convex approximation(SCA) and the block coordinate descent(BCD)methods is put forward. Specifically, in each iteration, the UAV-HAB association, calculation task splitting, and UAV trajectory are alternately optimized. Especially, for the nonconvex UAV trajectory optimization problem, an approximate convex optimization problem is settled. The numerical results indicate that the scheme of this paper proposed is guaranteed to converge and also significantly reduces the entire power consumption of all UAVs compared to the benchmark schemes.

The novel coronavirus 2019(COVID-19)rapidly spreading around the world and turns into a pandemic situation,consequently,detecting the coronavirus(COVID-19)affected patients are now the most critical task for medical specialists.The deficiency of medical testing kits leading to huge complexity in detecting COVID-19 patients worldwide,resulting in the number of infected cases is expanding.Therefore,a significant study is necessary about detecting COVID-19 patients using an automated diagnosis method,which hinders the spreading of coronavirus.In this paper,the study suggests a Deep Convolutional Neural Network-based multi-classification framework(COV-MCNet)using eight different pre-trained architectures such as VGG16,VGG19,ResNet50V2,DenseNet201,InceptionV3,MobileNet,InceptionResNetV2,Xception which are trained and tested on the X-ray images of COVID-19,Normal,Viral Pneumonia,and Bacterial Pneumonia.The results from 4-class(Normal vs.COVID-19 vs.Viral Pneumonia vs.Bacterial Pneumonia)demonstrated that the pre-trained model DenseNet201 provides the highest classification performance(accuracy:92.54%,precision:93.05%,recall:92.81%,F1-score:92.83%,specificity:97.47%).Notably,the DenseNet201(4-class classification)pre-trained model in the proposed COV-MCNet framework showed higher accuracy compared to the rest seven models.Important to mention that the proposed COV-MCNet model showed comparatively higher classification accuracy based on the small number of pre-processed datasets that specifies the designed system can produce superior results when more data become available.The proposed multi-classification network(COV-MCNet)significantly speeds up the existing radiology based method which will be helpful for the medical community and clinical specialists to early diagnosis the COVID-19 cases during this pandemic.

The fermented Chinese formula Shuan-Tong-ling is composed of radix puerariae（Gegen）,salvia miltiorrhiza（Danshen）,radix curcuma（Jianghuang）,hawthorn（Shanzha）,salvia chinensis（Shijianchuan）,sinapis alba（Baijiezi）,astragalus（Huangqi）,panax japonicas（Zhujieshen）,atractylodes macrocephala koidz（Baizhu）,radix paeoniae alba（Baishao）,bupleurum（Chaihu）,chrysanthemum（Juhua）,rhizoma cyperi（Xiangfu） and gastrodin（Tianma）,whose aqueous extract was fermented with lactobacillus,bacillus aceticus and saccharomycetes.ShuanTong-ling is a formula used to treat brain diseases including ischemic stroke,migraine,and vascular dementia.Shuan-Tong-ling attenuated H_2O_2-induced oxidative stress in rat microvascular endothelial cells.However,the potential mechanism involved in these effects is poorly understood.Rats were intragastrically treated with 5.7 or 17.2 m L/kg Shuan-Tong-ling for 7 days before middle cerebral artery occlusion was induced.The results indicated Shuan-Tong-ling had a cerebral protective effect by reducing infarct volume and increasing neurological scores.Shuan-Tong-ling also decreased tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β levels in the hippocampus on the ischemic side.In addition,Shuan-Tong-ling upregulated the expression of SIRT1 and Bcl-2 and downregulated the expression of acetylated-protein 53 and Bax.Injection of 5 mg/kg silent information regulator 1（SIRT1） inhibitor EX527 into the subarachnoid space once every 2 days,four times,reversed the above changes.These results demonstrate that Shuan-Tong-ling might benefit cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury by reducing inflammation and apoptosis through activation of the SIRT1 signaling pathway.

[Objectives]To explore morphological identification,macroscopical identification,microscopic identification,thin layer chromatography(TLC)identification of Tibetan medical material Dracocephalum tanguticum Maxim.,and provide experimental data for its identification and application.[Methods]The Tibetan medical material was identified by means of original plant,characters,powder,paraffin section and thin layer chromatography(TLC).[Results]Tibetan medical material D.tanguticum Maxim.was obviously distinguished in character identification and microscopic identification,and the TLC method was simple and feasible.[Conclusions]The results will provide the source work foundation for the formulation of the quality standard of Sichuan Province(draft)for Tibetan medicinal material"D.tanguticum Maxim."and the development of pharmaceutical preparations for medical institutions.

[Objectives]To optimize the forming process of Yi medicine Tongfeng Granules.[Methods]The forming process of Yi medicine Tongfeng Granules was optimized,with paste density,ethanol volume fraction,and type and proportion of excipient as influencing factors,and granule formability,solubility,moisture absorption,and angle of repose as evaluation indicators.Critical relative humidity(CRH)was investigated to select optimal storage conditions.[Results]Maltodextrin was selected as the excipient,and the best process parameters was the ratio of drug to excipient at 1∶2(g/g),under which the forming rate,solubility,moisture absorption rate,and angle of repose were 81.38%,98.90%,8.81%,and 27.5°,respectively.The critical relative humidity was 72%.[Conclusions]The forming process adopted is reasonable and feasible,and can provide a reference for large-scale production of Yi medicine Tongfeng Granules.

Localization and Dynamic Change of Saikosaponin in Root of Bupleurum chinense

Anatomical, histochemical and phytochemical methods were used to investigate the structure, the localization and content changes of total saikosaponin and saikosaponin-a of the roots of Bupleurum chinense DC. at different developmental stages. Results showed that saikosaponin was mainly distributed in pericycle and primary phloem in the young root; but in the mature root, it was mainly distributed in vascular cambium and secondary phloem. During the whole growth period from the pre-blossom, blossom, fruit, and fruit mature periods until the pre-withering period, it was in the fruit mature period that both the total saikosaponin content and the saikosaponin-a content reached the highest level. So the last 20 d of October was considered as the right collecting season for the drug of B. chinense. In addition, the quality of 1-year-old drug was better than that of 2-year-old drug due to its higher saikosaponin content. On the other hand, judging from the external characteristics of the drug, the one with an acerose taproot and more lateral roots was of better quality. The results offered theoretical bases for selecting medicinal material of high quality and determining the most appropriate harvesting stage and part of B. chinense.

Sn-doped cobalt containing perovskite as the air electrode for highly active and durable reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells

One potential solution to the problems of energy storage and conversion is the use of reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells(R-PCEC),which are based on the solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC)technology and offer a flexible route to the generation of renewable fuels.However,the R-PCEC development faces a range of significant challenges,including slow oxygen reaction kinetics,inadequate durability,and poor round-trip efficiency resulting from the inadequacy of an air electrode.To address these issues,we report novel B-sites doped Pr_(0.5)Ba_(0.5)Co_(0.7)Fe_(0.3)O_(3−δ)(PBCF)with varying amounts of Sn as the air electrode for R-PCEC to further enhance electrochemical performance at lower temperatures.At 600℃,R-PCEC with an air electrode consisting of Pr_(0.5)Ba_(0.5)Co_(0.7)Fe_(0.25)Sn_(0.05)O_(3+δ)has achieved peak power density of 1.12 W∙cm^(−2) in the fuel cell mode and current density of 1.79 A∙cm^(−2) in the electrolysis mode at a voltage of 1.3 V.Moreover,R-PCECs have shown good stability in the electrolysis mode of 100 h.This study presents a practical method for developing durable high-performance air electrodes for R-PCECs.
